My theory is this; Guys like Fabio, Danny, etc, have more of a younger following, who eat up nonsense content other than the riding skills. Those guys have mega skill, but also play sort of childishly at times, especially Fabio. He's young and silly. I can't watch half of his videos, too annoying. Plus, those channels get a lot of boost from some other silly "Global" networks...a lot of push. Some dolt named Marcus has got to be one of the most annoying, ridiculous punters of all time. Then you have Clarkson, not as bad but same type of deal. Really good rider, but placates to the 'simple minded' at times.
Take Sam Pilgrim, awesome skills, but gets a bit silly. Yeah, he's having fun, it's just his personality, he's a goof, though his content is fairly good to watch most times. Pat on the other hand, is more serious and technical, which I love, but the masses, especially the immature crowd, do not appreciate. He doesn't get any love from the silly Brits over there on a certain channel...
Pat is about teaching and showing skills, it's why I also enjoy Phil and Rich Drew, straight forward, get to the nuts and bolts stuff, with no pre-school games. I like the straight forward, no nonsense approach to riding and Trials.
Unfortunately, the muppets don't and the muppets make up the majority of yt viewers. Running around on an mtb or trials bike making silly 7 year old little boy noises and yelling it's Sick! It's childish, ridiculous. If that's what a particular rider NEEDS to do to get an audience and followers...let him have the idiots and dopes.
C'est la vie. I'd rather watch Pat. Keep it real, keep it simple. That's genuine. Not fluff or filler.

It depends where you are at. If it means you can spend more time on a bike then yes for sure it can help. Some techniques are slightly different but the more balance and bike control you have on any bike the better off you will be. Plus, they are just fun which typically means you will ride more which always helps.

I have seen it called a lot of things. Double edge grass shear, hand weeder, weed cutter... One of those should help.
