      Though might be true, your correction is quite insignificant in its impact given the type of substance in the video and the level of scientific sophistication of the viewers. In an hour, I guarantee you all the thetas and alphas mentioned in this video will be gone and probably just the gist of the concepts will remain with us non experts. And that's not an insult to you or an attempt to be condescending.

    6:45 More specifically Blue Light, like that found in electronic screens at high intensities. Children need high quality sleep which means lower consumption of blue light four hours before sleep.
    Parents who are unaware of this and how use electronic devices as a distract mechanism for their children are severely damaging their ability to process information gathered during the day.
    Also, educational endeavors should be done before sleep rather than after waking. Sleep is extremely efficient at organizing and integrating ideas collected during waking hours, and creativity is more potent in the hours after waking.

      +Margie Galino
      I read that stage one involves alpha and theta, because alpha is already there from being relaxed and theta is there because it is the transitional period between awake and sleep. Then it is totally theta and total sleep at stage two.
      I though total wake and arousal is beta?

I still have dreams about her and us getting back together in these weird houses where some rooms are familiar and some no clue. Dreams are messed. Even more crappy is when i wake up after them dreams i remeber em and basically wake up sad and i guess depressed cause the dream is rushing through. I have woken up crying before. I rember this one dream that was requiring every so often..it was when i was kid but the dream was i would be in a bathtube. But not a bathtub but imagine being in a bathtube chained up and then u shrink and now ur staring up at the edges of the bathtube and its dark..

    • @neosis4182
      @neosis4182 5 лет назад +1

      Our voluntary part of the body is paralyzed, but never is the involuntary aspect of the human body i.e the autonomous nervous system which self regulates breathing, heartbeats etc. Without putting conscious biological effort on our part; even in sleep.
      You ever wondered who's controlling your breathing and heart pattern when you're not thinking about it? There you go.

      Stage four isn't included in the newer AASM scoring manuals, it's just N1, N2, N3, and REM now. I think the main reasoning was that stage 4 wasn't functionally different enough and couldn't be as consistently distinguished from the adjacent stages.

    your demonstration with graphs sucks! REM sleep produces stage one which is mostly around beta and alpha so basically (same brain wave when someone is also in an awake stage but is in deep sleep/dream) None-REM stage consists of beta and alpha so when enter into REM it produces same brain waves. so it goes non rem beta, alpha , theta, delta and back to (beta) Rem. This consists of repetition of 5 cycles a night maybe consisting of longer beta(Rem) periods every cycle until awake.
