I have never heard anyone make note of this, but if Jere was really into Belly at this point, he had the perfect opportunity to make his move at the bonfire rather than bail. This is why I think Jere didn’t start really seeing Belly until Conrad started showing interest.

Naw. We can tell from Jere's conversations with Belly that he took his shot when he thought she was open to dating. At this point he had no reason to think she was over her crush. There's every reason to believe she was when she started seeing Cam, though.
