POV Surfing FUN WAVES ON A CRAZY SHALLOW REEF! (RAW)

- This is a fun session I had the other day out at Ann street in Currimundi on the Sunshine Coast. Punchy A framing waves on a shallow reef gives this wave heaps of power compared to the nearby beach breaks and it makes for a sketchy session on low tide!
The conditions were beautiful in the morning with lefts and rights peeling nicely off the reef, but as the morning went on the tide went out and it got pretty gnarly. It started breaking all over the place and was maximum half a meter deep. I ended up being the only one left out and got a few fun waves in between hitting the reef on wipeouts haha.

is crummundi a beach break like pipeline?
Hey mate, Currimundi is a section of beach that has both beach breaks and reef breaks.
This spot here is known as "Ann street" and its a small reef break with sand bars on either side of the break.
No is has a lot less power in it compared to pipeline
Why do you put sand on your board at the beginning ???
The course sand roughens up the wax a little bit more and so it provides more grip.

How do you find the hypto in small waves. is it easy to get into waves when it’s like 1-2 ft
I find the hypto to pretty good in small waves, It is way better than a standard short board in small surf however its not as good as a proper groveller. I ride a 5'6 hypto and its my 1 board quiver which I surf in everything from 1-6 feet.
