You are featured in the RSPB newsletter now so lots of people will see the wonderful displays that have been created.Anything that creates a haven for wildlife and especially birds that are now facing a hard struggle to survive, needs to be encouraged.A true inspiration to other cities with alleyways that look dark and dismal.

So much more attractive than alleyways filled with fly tipped rubbish as in a lot of cities.
Something like honeysuckle and jasmine along the walls would be very good, flowers for insects and cover on the walls for birds and the lovely perfume.

Absolutely fantastic work, more people should get together, work together, and pass on the skills they learnt over the years. Just love it. June Devon England. x

Love it. Must have been hard facing down HMO landlords who don't tend to care about community.

I have just done this in our alley way. One neighbour is making my life hell. Despite writing letters about improving area. Any advice would be great. All other neighbours on board xx

Professional gardeners would pay a fortune to create a back drop like that..for their planting IMO

So lovely! What a difference your work has made. Inner city areas of brick and concrete can be changed to help nature and all of us. I also garden in an inner city garden which was a bare concrete yard, large but unused. After starting off in large pots, We managed to get funding to put in raised beds and irrigation. We have filled the beds with bird and insect friendly plants including fruit trees which are loved by pollination insects and give us apples! And fruit shrubs like currents and gooseberries, and all our plants are aimed at attracting bees butterflies and other insect life. It’s amazing the sheer amount of new life such things can bring, after a couple of years when it matures even better. We also put out fresh water for the birds, and dishes of water on the ground in summer for the foxes. Like your alleyways our yard is unrecognisable compared to what it used to be, and we learn as we go! Beautiful, well done!

I had never heard of the heard about the Wildflower Alleys in the Heart of Belfast, but I can assure you that I am sincerely impressed with what has been achieved in a once divided community. (Sadly, my memories of Belfast surround "The Troubles" when communities were 'divided'. Just looking at what has been achieved impresses me immensely. If my health was 'with me' I would have loved to have volunteered for such a project as I can see the benefits of such positivity, both for the community AND for Nature.) Well done to everyone. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
