  • 'Redemption' is a word that's always held deep meaning for me. We've all been vulnerable at some stage to the ills of life & some of us can be thankful that we came out refined on the other side. It is a perilous journey that each of us must respectively find on our own & only through hard work, diligence & sheer luck can we find the grace & strength to come out, not only better than before, but more prudent; that mantra is how I feel about guitarist/vocalist, Mr. Dallas Toler-Wade. Many death metallers may remember Dallas from this tenure in the mighty South Carolina based, Egyptian themed band, Nile, where he achieved world-wide acclaim with numerous releases. But despite his official departure from the band in 2016, fans were quick to notice that Dallas was not quite done contributing to the metal underground when he continued to cultivate his side project Narcotic Wasteland into a full-time venture, which accentuated his speedy, diverse playing (& vocals) into new, unprecedented territory. 2017 saw the release of the band's debut, 'Delirium Tremens' to much acclaim & now only in 2022 (due to the pandemic) are fans finally seeing NEW music from the band. SO, with Narcotic Wasteland coming through San Antonio on October 4th, 2022 (in direct support of German legends, Accept) I took the opportunity to meet up with the man & get all the latest. In the interview below you will see us discuss the following: the formation of NW, the ills of alcoholism/drug use, the success of ‘Delirius Tremens’, his current lineup, new singles, the upcoming full length (on Megaforce Records), tour plans for 2023 & much more! I hope the extended RMW Familia will watch this one & learn about a band that is TRUE to the roots of brutal death metal. Thanks to Asher Media Relations for hooking this up & to Dallas for his humility in giving our cameras his best. Enjoy! ~ El Mero Metal

I gotta check out Narcotic Wasteland. I missed them opening for Accept. I assumed they'd be traditional metal. But now with all this NIle death metal talk I'm wondering are they a death metal band?

Hunt for the Night Stalker was amazing. I never knew how twisted and evil Richard Ramirez actually
    was.
