Also - fun fact, the ridges on the edges of a coin were first used to prevent individuals from trimming some silver off the edge of a coin then trying to spend said coin.
I have #36 and I have carried it as my 5th pocket knife frequently since I got it. The blade is crazy thin and slicey and the craftsmanship and fit and finish are wonderful!
Sean Yaw's #20 Swayback Wharncliffe successfully evicted my #47 GEC green bone. I've carried Sean's knife every day for over a year. Everything you said about Sean's knives are true. He's truly on his way to greatness.
Been following Sean on IG a long time - you did a great job of simultaneously showcasing his gorgeous work and promulgating your own self-"depreciation" 😂
These are really nice. I forgot about him since he fixed your Propper. Cruwear is tool steel and it'll still patina, a plus for me, but one of these in k390 or M4 would be awesome.
I like em. I want to give one to my son. Of course, holding it between my fingers whilst waving it back and forth and giving a mini lecture on how 'you better appreciate this' first.
Damn, you got 10 of his knives I’ve been trying to get one to test on the job site for a while, I suppose it’s not happening because I don’t have a huge RUclips channel
"The Nitrile Glove Guys"- love it! Thank you for affirming my position, hated by some 'collectors' when they see me carrying and using their Grail GEC. It is an act of profanity, debasement, defilement and sacrilege, apparently. One recently chastised me with the words "You have ruined this knife for the entire knife community". Wow, fancy that! And there was me thinking that I'd bought the knife with my hard-earned cash, not merely rented it from a bunch of sanctimonious control freaks.
One can be a collector of things who enjoys using those things. I’ve always hated the sealed grading that seeps into collecting communities. I collect quite a few things and part of the enjoyment is using them, playing them, or watching them,
My name is also Sean, and while I have never made a knife, I did benchgrind a railswitcher I found on the tracks into a crude cleaver shaped hatchet when I was 8. So I'm doing what I can for the name cohort.
The barlow is crazy, cool art-deco look to it. love to see the copper; thought those covers were turquoise. I think they go with the copper because how Verdegris; that blue green stuff that ends up on copper as it gets aged and worn by moisture and weather... blah blah blah. it looks neat.
I’m not sure why everyone overlooks this point, but I think I need to comment on the quality of his ‘Typical RUclips Commenter’ impersonation. I’ve noted through the decades of watching these videos, our host seems to have settled on a rural accent, with a slight southern drawl, indicative of eastern Kansas to south eastern Illinois. I find this to be spot on, and I commend him on his specificity as well as accuracy. I too hear this particular dialect when reading comments that induce eye rolling. As always, you provide material and content that many, if not all would consider mediocre, and yet without pretentiousness or unnecessary effort. Thank you sir.
Really cool knives.. they look like great quality and good users.. as for why I watch your posts 🤔 I don’t know 😁 maybe the sarcasm or the humorous truths or maybe it’s .. anyway sticking with I don’t know Great video man 👍 I dig the channel
I still don't "get" the high end slipjoint thing at all, but I'm happy that enough people do that guys can make a living at making them. FWIW I signed up for notifications on your Stumplifter knives. I probably won't buy one but I hope that they're a success.
Long as you aren't stabbing things, slipjoints aren't that much of a drawback. It's nice to have something custom and if you do you might as well use a good steel with a good heat treatment.
No. 34 is a Clip Point. I have 1 knife that is mostly a drawer queen; my CF S90V Shaman, that was bought by my wife for me at $500 Canadian,... i don't particularly feel like dropping it (again), or losing it (again).
I own a lot of nice slipjoints and one of them is indeed a YAW trapper. I’m pretty good friends with Sean and he is an excellent person first and being a great knife maker is just a bonus! I very much look forward to tricking him into letting me actually BUY a knife from him soon enough.
I dont really use traditionals, but man there are some good looking ones in there. Like that Rock pattern. Who is also a person. Roc. He had a tv show once upon a time. 😅
I thought I wanted a safeQueeen, but it made me sick and sad and the knife got all depressed and sort of got into heavy drinking. All good now though. Totally agree on the knives-are-tools stuff.
No idea why it's been so popular the last 5 or more years to take knives apart and "give it a spa day" meanwhile stripping the screws. Dump some windex in it to clean, hit with some air to dry, lightly oil if you like. No need to take knives apart unless something crazy happened. Thanks for not being a take every knife apart guy. The exact reason I refuse to buy secondary. I want people to live with their purchase/take everything apart mistakes.
I kinda get this. I would never in a million years buy something off Facebook groups, or be part of one to buy a knife. I hate Facebook, and the only reason I keep it around is for the local marketplace, so I can find free firewood.
Love a good stump top review
More to come!

Are you sure it’s not for putting marker on, then tricking your friends to rub on their face?
@@HydraBox777that’s a happy accident I’m afraid
@@just9911 my bad I didn't understand it to be exactly the same but I'll delete comment
I think I would buy a Yaw over a GEC any day. They look so nice.
I'll second that. Great looking knives
*a new AKB video drops
My brain - “cool, it’s time to get weird”
2 great band names in this video. The Coke Powered Hamsters and The Nitrile Glove Guys...
There's something about a custom slip joint that just gets me. I don't own any currently, but one day!🥰🥰
I have #36 and I have carried it as my 5th pocket knife frequently since I got it. The blade is crazy thin and slicey and the craftsmanship and fit and finish are wonderful!

They are amazing!
Yaw be tripp'n with all deese knives dawg
Holy shit. I thought the “stump” was a cup of coffee. There you go. Lesson learned.
Thanks for introducing us to this maker. Also that barlow is gorgeous, wow.
Been following Sean on IG a long time - you did a great job of simultaneously showcasing his gorgeous work and promulgating your own self-"depreciation" 😂
#12 is bloody gorgeous 👌
The rock pattern is beautiful and the perfect size and shape for me. I want one.
Wow that Barlow is stunning.

Thanks for sharing I love the granddad knife vids
I cant quit you man
That's some serious talent, Yaw. Love that rock pattern. Thanks for sharing!

Lol I wear Kirkland jeans at work sometimes you had me cracking up
he does great work!
One day I'll wear Sean down enough to sell me one of his knives. They are absolutely amazing and his work just astonishes me.
👍🏼all beautiful work👍🏼
I like it. He did a nice job on the stump too. 👍🏻 Rock is an old Native American chief often seen wandering aimlessly on the road. Watch for Rock.

These knives are so beautiful they are making me reconsider my aversion to custom folders and their price tags.

Beautiful work on each one. The copper bolster with the blue dyed bone is gorgeous!

That's a handsome knife, Mr. AdvancedKnifeBro. Kaw has done you proud!

Great video man 👍 I dig the channel
commentary and video quality is as nice as these knives - top notch
I love that rock pattern handle. Mr Yaw has the skills!!
I had the chance to get one of Seans, its rewally, reaslly good, up there with the best of them
I agree with your closing thoughts. Rest of the video too.

Those are all really nice blades.
That barlow is awesome looking!
Gawd dang his knives are crazy cool
Beautiful handle on that 46. But yeah, that barlow dude.
Yes !!!
Got Almighty damn Sean - stellar blades man , that damn Barlow is siiiiick
Coffee cup shield is nice
Tell me.. are you at ‘the Stump’ when you are doing the voice over!!?? I need to know man! (Sound of choking chicken in the background)!
You seem more like a charmin guy. Appreciate the content !
Man those are some beauties!
I dont really use traditionals, but man there are some good looking ones in there. Like that Rock pattern. Who is also a person. Roc. He had a tv show once upon a time. 😅
Didn't Sean Yaw also fix up your benchmade propper?
He did! It has perfect snap shut action now. He’s a genius. Also I should have mentioned that here but I forgot.
I am liking that 34🦉
I thought I wanted a safeQueeen, but it made me sick and sad and the knife got all depressed and sort of got into heavy drinking. All good now though. Totally agree on the knives-are-tools stuff.
I like the one that looks like it has already been taped up with blue electrical tape. Very traditional.
wait i live in bozeman and i have a teacher named sean yaw.... i wonder if its the same guy
What’s you’re opinion on rough Ryder I’ve got a few cases and they look as if they exceed case at a fraction of the cost
They’re pretty on par on some. I’d say they’re pretty comparable at a fraction of the cost of current case prices
Clip point

Wtf, those are stumps? I thought they were some 90's cappuccinos! 😂
Some of us diehards are watching for that long ago promised MEATLOAF review…#StillWaiting
My aunt has one.
She has great taste in knives

Yeah for real. Run a Q tip down the crack when it fills up with pocket lint and you'll be fine
I'm not a knife maker but I know powering a drill press with cocaine via a hamster is not cost efficient.
NO SAFE QUEENS!
I allready stole one from you.🤠
And I am thinking you have seen more than your fair share of hand moisturiser.....just saying
Advanced “Traditional” bro??
😂😂😂👏👌👍
Cringefluencer!
If I can only get a knife on instragram, I think Im good not getting one at all.
🤷♂️
Well, its not *your* fault.
