- In this episode, Dave and I take off from Stocking Island near George Town, Great Exuma in the Bahamas. We head south toward Cuba. Several things happen as we're underway. This is typical of sailing with usually a couple projects that unexpectedly pop up each day. All part of the adventure. Good times. Enjoy! #Sailing #SVGiraffe

Great videos, keep em coming. The content of your vlog speaks from the heart. We also met Dave sailing in the Bahamas and he taught out kids how to use a sextant. Someone needs to write his life story, not many like him on this planet.
Myth busters tested motion sickness remedies and ginger was one of the ones that worked
Thanks for showing the realities of sailing. Motion sickness is one of my concerns about buying a sailboat.
Some Colourful Australian Lingo coming from Dave as he wrestled with the pole.
you weren't kidding when you mentioned things that unexpectedly come up. gee, thanks a boatload for filming, dave!
great vids, JP
Nice to see you sailing with the most interesting man in the world, great stories and adventure that make for another awesome video!
It’s official! You’re a Bluewater Sailor! Congratulations!
Seasick? Been there more times than I can count. I learned to let it fly. Rinse my mouth out. Seek some shade. Relax. Ginger also helps. You’re fortunate to have met this seasoned sailor you’re traveling with.
Thanks Tom.
Brilliant video. Dave seems to be a funny man. He seems to have a great sense of humour and definitely strength, considering how he wrestled the pole. Good decision to turn back. Again the views and the sunset were breathtaking. Thank you so much. 👍👍👍👍
Fantastic video Josh! I absolutely love the storyline and near perfect editing! Dave is an inspiration, when you grow a white beard like Dave you'll have as many great adventurers to share as he has experienced! Josh, your trials and tribulations just shows you have the grit and determination and when faced with adversity you just push forward, truly inspiring!! I look forward to your next video with Dave!!
How old is Dave? Did he say 90?! Wow he's in excellent shape!
Dave seems like an old Sea dog. Lots of experience. Like to see more of him in future episodes. Maybe he sticks with you. Ginger...must try it when I sail again. Sometimes get nauseous when boat rocks n rolls.
1.52...Dave looking very much like Poppey.🤗
Flexible water containers in the bilge can be protected from puncture by first laying a yoga mat in the bilge then the water tank on top of the mat. But with a 50 gallon tank, you gonna need more than one yoga mat.
Thanks for the tip. That’s a great idea. In my case it was actually a hose fitting that came loose, maybe due to the boat rolling around. We were able to tighten the hose fitting. But I like the yoga mat idea.
"hold on, let me kill a shark"! Dave truly is the most interesting man in the world....I got where you were coming from D!
Great job Todd, now your getting sea legs. You still looked a little green under the gills. 💚👍👍⛵
Thank you Steve! I enjoy your comments!
as Mike Tyson said, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." - Keep Moving Forward.
Good stuff. Great quote. 🥊
Just something about this episode made it my favorite one yet!
Great video. I always keep a bag of ginger chews candy on board for the sickness.
Good video as always... Sometimes things dont work out like you plan.. Keep the adventures coming!!! 😎⛵🥢
Ripping yarn Josh - very entertaining - sorry about the seasickness 👏🏻
Turquoise clouds?! Woah. Be there soon.
Thanks for sharing! Stay safe and carry on!
Thank you for sharıng this beautıful video.
Anxiety is the true cause of seasickness I’ve seen people get sick on a 3 foot roll and the same guy not get sick and 6 foot and even 8 foot seas seeing the water in the bilge caused a cascading failure in your belly a picture of the beach 🏖 helps as well
Hello Josh, I'm new to your channel, and I'm really enjoying the sailing wisdom nuggets with Dave as well. I'm curious to know what Dave's opinion of your Choy Lee is? Do you have an episode of that? My main reason is because the Choy Lee is my boat of choice to this point. But "There is wisdom in a multitude of councilors". Thank you sir for your reply. I promise I didn't laugh when you blew chunks.
Subscribed! Just because you have the same boat as me 🤣 (give or take 9 feet)
Josh, maybe if you joined the Navy you would have never had seasickness on this trip! Jk. Thank you for being honest, as most creators would edit everything out to make themselves superheroes.
Haha. 👍 I was a JAG attorney in the Navy so to quote Tom Cruise in the film A Few Good Men:
Kaffee:
Whoa. Hold it. We gotta take a boat?
Barnes:
Yes, sir. To get to the other side of the bay.
Kaffee:
Nobody said anything about a boat.
Barnes:
Is there a problem, sir?
Kaffee:
No, no problem. I'm just not that crazy about boats, that's all.
Galloway:
Jesus Christ, Kaffee, you're in the Navy for crying out loud.
Josh, I've been following since you bought this boat (I own a Beneteau 370.) Question: why did you not use a
Scopolmine patch? BTW, you have come a long way :)
Great video!
Hi. I don’t know if my observation is correct. I personally think that the mainsail should not be tied to the Boom during Rifing.
You’re riding on Popeye’s boat! To bad Olive Oil is not there too
is dave realy 90 years old? I'm a new subscriber and enjoying the channel!
Thanks for subscribing. I think Dave was joking about his age. I’m not sure how old he really is. It’s a mystery. 😀 Thanks for the comment!
Not the way to reef a main sail. The outhaul is completely wrong
Just watching a few of your videos, so beautiful... Hiwever, I noticed you feeding the fish bread... it was shared with me that that is really bad because it A,fills the fish and they don’t manicure the coral and B. It changes their poop, which actually feed microorganisms... So please perhaps consider not doing that... I had never considered it until a local on Roatan shared...
Keep filming!
What is the mirror for on your boom?
Confusing. I thought they were sailing south to Cuba. Around 5:00 or so, the sun is setting, and they are clearly sailing North.
Good catch. Who knows. When editing I throw in clips that help the story along, and looking at the footage months later I don’t have it labeled on my computer for a particular day. I just know it was from that 3-4 day leg of the trip. So it could have been a sunrise that I confused with sunset while editing. Or it could have been from the next day after we turned around and were headed north. 🕵️♂️
@@JoshPostVlogs Regardless, some great shots. And a fine narrative. I love your videos.
😊
Guys... harness please!

Hello guys! How you doing? Blue moon for sale!
Hello! Great to hear from you. Are you guys included for the price? 😀 I just found it listed on YachtWorld under 2002 Catana 581 Owners Version. What have you all been up to? Cheers!
If you are selling the boat will you not be making any more sailing content? I have to admit the realistic image of life on a boat is refreshing compared to a lot of the Vloggers out there pretending life is idyllic...
Hi. I have a lot more sailing content planned even after selling the boat. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
