Loudoun County Housing Market

  • There is a great scene in the latest Top Gun movie.
Tom Cruise on the carrier deck in his F18.
He gets launched on the catapult and is pinned back into his seat from the acceleration.
But as the F18 leaves the flight deck at the end of the catapult, he actually falls forward into his straps.
This is actually a real life reaction.
That initial acceleration is insane…. Zero to 130 knots in 2 seconds.
But once it’s over, it FEELs as though the airplane is slowing down.
The reality is that the jet is still accelerating but just not at the same incredible rate.
I’ll compare it to the housing market in Loudoun County right now. (I know, it’s a stretch)
We’ve had double digit appreciation for the past 2 years. A little bit like that acceleration from a Cat Shot.
    It’s truly been historic.
But now that the market has shifted back to what I consider “normal” it FEELS to many of us that the market is crashing or has stopped functioning.
That perception is understandable considering what we were used to over the previous 2 years.
But the reality is that the housing market is functioning normally.
Buyers and Sellers are negotiating based on price and terms and ratifying contracts successfully everyday.
If you have any questions about the Loudoun housing market, I’d be glad to chat.
Or if you’d rather chat about what it feels like to get launched off an aircraft carrier, I’d welcome that as well. LOL.

I loved the analogy & thought it quite fitting, & obviously, so you. Appreciate the videos you post periodically & everything you’ve done/are doing to help me prepare & sell my home in LoCo. 🤗
