    Great Haul! These miscellaneous lots really are a great way to put together sets on a budget! It takes time and many lots but saves a ton of money!

      It is a great way to build a set at a low price. If I sell the doubles and items I don't need I will basically have the keepers for "free". Thanks for watching!

      Why would nt you put them in your box?😮

    • @thetoolbandit
      @thetoolbandit  2 месяца назад +1

      Because I have plenty of clean ones, so no need. Not because I'm too good for them, LOL.

    Nice score on the Craftsman auction. The Snap-on was a pretty good deal too. Have a good Thanksgiving.

      Snap-on was a decent deal with the ratchet and stud extractor. If it was all sockets that would have been too much. Hope you have a good Thanksgiving as well! Thanks for watching!

    Nice. I've had pretty good luck cleaning off corrosion on the old Snap-On sockets (even the pretty crusty ones). The chrome seems to be extremely durable.

    The "E" series Craftsman wrenches were made by Stanley. One of them in the beginning at about 1:15 into the video still had the bar code label from Sears on it, so that might have been a warranty replacement at one time or just open stock bought at the store. I have plenty of those "bad ones" like you described. They are good to fill in spare sets and make sets for road toolboxes/junkyard boxes. That was a good deal delivered to the door like that. I've gotten a few like that recently.

      I figured the E series was some of the last ones they Made in the USA. You're absolutely right, the wrenches will still work perfectly in a box where tools may get ruffed up or lost. Thanks for watching!

      @@thetoolbandit After that run, I believe they had made Danaher the exclusive supplier. By then, the "BF" Japan and "E" Stanley made wrenches were done and they were all "V*" series USA made Danaher until of course production was shifted to China and today a lot of them are made in India now.
      I was just in WI this week for work, twice in two weeks. I was there last week and then we had to go back. Both times in Green Bay.

    One thing I have started doing is using zinc spray to clean up the bad wrenches

    • @thetoolbandit
      @thetoolbandit  2 месяца назад +1

      First I have heard that one. I will look into it! Thanks for watching!

    • @danohstoolbox
      @danohstoolbox 2 месяца назад

      @thetoolbandit it is for repairing the zinc coating on steel trusses
      But it looks pretty good when you spray wrenches that have no Chrome left on them, and it keeps them from rusting

    I'd say the Snap-on box was a better deal than the Craftsman box. Obviously both boxes were a good deal.
