    Great video. I'm seeing a lot more stations in JS8Call lately. I think it's popularity is about to explode. 73 KF7VUT

      @@KM4ACK Another aspect is that using js8, 40m is really all that I need now. With the relay you can talk dx or local. You no longer need an 80m nvis setup for local night comms. You can now relay through a station that may be 1000 miles away and contact your friends 100 miles away, thus erasing the skip zone when 40 goes long. I really love what is being done with JS8Call and appreciate that you all are spreading the word on YT. Thanks 73 de KF7VUT

    New release changed some things, especially in relation to Relaying and Message handling ! . Hopefully, with the info from this video plus reading Jordans release notes I can figure this out. Will be cool to see someone successfully relay 4 or 5 stations out there ! Incidently, Jordan, the developer , told me there was a video out there that featured the relay feature. No link. I searched , came up with yours. So, your it ! Gave the link to Jordan who may share it ! So, the sooner you can do a video on the new hidden Gems of the one that just came out this month, the better ! So, while writing this, I subscribed and clicked the bell !

      Apparently the biggest change is you can send things like snr? with relays now. Still struggling with relays. The relay part starts right here. ruclips.net/video/fN1MVP0i_iM/видео.html Studying again.

    Very cool and useful features. Highly useful in an Emcomm situation.

      Agreed! JS8 would be super software to use for emcomm. Lots of useful tools in one app. One of the coolest features is being able to leave it unattended and still receive messages. Thanks for watching, de KM4ACK

    Thanks Jason for the great tips, Also using a RaspiB+/Raspbian Stretch, and saw your clock on the video displaying only hours and minutes.Tip: to show the seconds and time zone, right click on the clock, go to Digital Clock Settings and on the Clock Format Box change the setting to: %X click ok to show hours,mins,secs and Time Zone. Need the seconds display to see if it is in sync
    with NTP,RTC or GPS to exact second. 73 de Max,4F1BYN from the Philippines.

      Was working on something else today that might interest you. I set up an APRS digipeater in my Jeep. That way I can use my APRS HT when I'm hunting and the Jeep will digipeat me at 50W. I'll put it on my list for a video. Will be giving it a real world test run soon but worked well at the house today.

      @@KM4ACK We did have a good UHF digi repeater in our area =) Looks like it is down and another Ham is blocking everyone but his buddies from iGating ..... this maybe a solution until I can get a R Pi Zero with a DVB dongle and solar panel up on the mountain top house .... yep he has wired cable company internet up there =) I may even graph a cheap HT with VOX to the R Pi to replace the DVB dongle later on =) Place it in one of those plastic HF ammo box with battery and antenna all in one piece operation =) Just plug in the battery charger =) He is a new Ham as well =)

    For the relay function, how do you know what stations the other station can hear which you can't hear?

    • @kv4atv
      @kv4atv 2 года назад

      Send and inquiry command to a station that can hear you and see what stations they hear. You can then relay through them.

    Is there a specific setting in js8call for logging to N3FJP log? Mine fails each time I try.
