  • Spinning for cob in the Umzimvubu river mouth is pretty nerve racking with the Bull sharks that are resident in that area. In this episode we manage to get some shoal cob on bucktail jig after losing a monster on the light tackle. Wading waist deep into the waves where the river mixes with the ocean water to get to the zone where the cob are feeding gets the results.
Then back into the river to relax and target the magnificent Garrick that pass through the estuary, back onto the light tackle loaded with bucktail jigs.

Another great fishing video Andre. Since you catching such big fish maybe you should consider using a bucket around the waist, avoids the stomach pain. Whatever you decide thanks for the awesome spinning video.

Hi Peter, the MH is perfect for spinning lures. If you are casting something heavy like possibly a livebait, would be the only reason I would consider the H. I havent actually used the H only the M and MH so kinda guessing a bit but as I said the action on the MH is superb for spinning lures in the river.

Ye for sure as long as you pick the weather. There was a crew on kayaks last time we were there. I would however avoid the mouth area on the outgoing tide
