I’m glad I waited to read these comments before starting. Simply went to 1-1-1, waited for lucky stars, activated, finished the mission and then went to 7-6-6. Got it my first try.
If you're like me and need SP, go to mission 9-5-3 and farm the movers for awhile. 20k sp per kill. Throw on a Mog's amulet and you'll get a Mythril armlet for each kill. Add a Jeweled Ring and you'll double that. You can then sell them for 10k Gil a piece. One hour in there got me 10mil SP and 6mil Gil. I think im pretty much covered now 😂.
It took me 34 tries, but when I finally got it, I got Genji Shield x2. Didn't know that could happen.
Finally got the Gengi Shield. One thing i advice before the battle with magic pot, Try getting lucky stars level 5 and enter the battle with magic pot.
That's a good strat! Also the Magic Pot repeats each request a max of ten times, so there's plenty of time to wait on the DMW as you go through the actions. Took me about five encounters I think?

I think the boat level was made for a planned Junno part. But yeah it got cut. In cissnei memories they are on a boat a few times.
You can wait between the attacks about three spins of the DMW. You were way too hasty with it and you can easily abort mission when the pot says boring and still retry. Getting lucky starts to heavenly increases the chances a great amount so if you get that instead of octoslash, activate it and flee from the pot, put a curse ring on and find another pot. That way you can retry and change the equipment out of curse ring and have heavenly DMW.
The way I did it was waiting longer, you can wait until the 5th time the Magic Pot says "Use it on me" before he actually says "Boring" and leaves, you can do this for all 3 prompts. If anyone is having issues getting Sephiroth.
just wanna say... i did the grind for genji shield today, and i had the same dmw luck you had, particularly with summons ruining my octaslash like 7 times before it finally let me have it.
Me: You can easily getting it later with omnislash materia.

tip for magic pot he will ask 5 time for the skill to be used on him for each 1 before he gets bored. i had to forfeit the battle and retry like 30 times before i got the RNG was in my favor.

Yeah it took me about an hour to get the Octaslash when I was doing this last night, you had pretty much the same luck I had lol. Sorry you had to go through it too
the way i did it, was let cissnei get her drop and get me heavenly status, then put a cursed ring on til i got magic pot. forefeitted and took off cursed ring. my second attempt, i got sephiroth.
and i see you kinda did that as I watched further
Holy shit, I'm legitimately not trying to troll, I got SO lucky and hit Octaslash on my first go without restarting. Now I'm going to be paranoid about how the universe is going to balance out in the near future lol.
Edit: I should mention I already had DMW on Sky High, so that definitely helped.
I actually got it first try and Nintendo switch, only problem I had was took ages to find the pot to actually try
lol well dang dude. i've been following you. your luck has been bad man. I managed to hit octoslash after maybe 8-10 tries. luck must have been on my side
Probably could have made it much easier though. Just get Cissnei first in 1-1-1 (or when he got it during Magic Pot, just end the fight and chase Magic Pot away). Then find Magic Pot again with Heavenly or Sky High. Can keep the DMW emotion status and just forfeit and retry until it rolls.
I just finally got the shield after about 10 tries finally😢😂 I would’ve had it the first try, but I hit the wrong button and screwed up and I also went after full cure and got it. Lol.

Im level 90....Im moving levels way to fast. What happens when i maxed out my level before chapter 5...I hope that doesnt happen... Started running around with cursed ring, becuase i thought its bad to maxed out this early

My thing is going after magic pot I’m having a problem trying to get my mind on which button is which, and the 999 damage that’s using the sword isn’t it jump technique? you should already have octave/I’ve got it.
Go exp grind for a while in 9-5-3
and come back and find a Magic pot. Easy Peasy
any tips please im got everything you do bar devine slayer and only 1milion sp and i can not get a 99999 hit on pot any tips?
Got it on my 3rd try is getting x2 genji shield a common drop for it too?

I was just thinking about the lack of fire or blizzard upgraded spells the other day. It would've been really cool to have an Explosion AOE magic that acted like three of the bomb explosions, or a Frost Jet magic that threw three slashes of ice across the stage. Make up for the lack of AOE by homing, you know? The animations for both are already in the game, so it sucks they weren't utilized.
Maybe we'll get mods eventually!
So I did the level 5 star luck before magic pot and then got level 5 sephroth but the damage was so low can someone explain y I'm not getting this done

why dont you take those sp masters off so you dont lose sp when your farming its not like your going to use costly punch anyways

Maaaaan, before i knew about the forfeit trick, I tried for hours to find magic pot. I finally got him and on the last possible second after the 99,999 damage prompt, I got 2 Sephies and just about to get the 3rd one when bahamut reared his ugly ass head arrrrrrgh lol.. this happened 2 me twice after hours trying to get Magic pot SMH lmaooo
if you would have started with heavnly dmw you would have got it quicker
