Aside from the Law of Superposition being able to tell us the age down to the year based on what soil layer it’s found in, we can use spectrometry to analyze the molecular makeup of the soil clinging to the artifact to establish an incredibly accurate age. And even if you bury it in a deeper layer archeologists will know. We can tell when soil was disturbed 10,000 years ago because a prehistoric squirrel buried some nuts. We are definitely able to tell when someone buries something because there is literally *no way* to put the soil back in a way that doesn’t make it extremely obvious that it’s been disturbed.
What alot a people don't know is that obsidian is much sharper than steel. The Aztecs used obsidian for their weapons. An Aztec Swordclubs were a conquistador's worst nightmare come true.

That turned out amazing. So amazing tht I don't believe Ancient ppl didn't do this (despite what I've heard so-called 'experts' & 'historians' claim). You might also want to consider hardening that wooden spear shaft. I've seen this done in other primative/Survival type videos where they basically widdle or sharpen the end of a stick/spear & hold that sharpened tip over the fire, slowly rotating it by hand. The idea isn't to burn the wood, but to use the heat to change the components by adding more carbon & fusing tht into the wood w/ the heat. This is one primitive way to harden wood. Otherwise, a sharpened stick will likely just break, splinter or snap off the first time you try to use it. Idk how he's planning on using this spear most often, (stabby or throwy). But, if he's planning on throwing it, I don't see how it could hurt to harden the entire shaft like I've described. It should reduce any wobble when it takes flight. You'll notice tht this technique will blacken the wood a bit. & from there, maybe apply a stain (to protect the porous wood from water/rain or insect damage). &/Or regularly applying a coating of animal fat to protect your hands from splinters while wielding it. I recently saw a YT short on these long spears/poles that ppl have been using & for hundreds of years, passed down thru generations of goat/sheep herders living in the Canary Islands. Bc it's so rocky, & uneven, they basically jump off cliffs, w/ these ~10ft poles tht have a sharp metal tip on the bottom. While in midair, they just havta make sure that the bottom metal part of their stick/spear thing hits the ground & finds footing first (while still mid-air) & then, they use this pole like a portable firefighter pole, squeezing & loosening their grip to slow their fall under the last ~10ft of whatever height theyd just jumped from. Essentially, they're negating gravity, & cheating death by not taking any fall damage . Ancient ppl were way more clever than we're taught in school/we'v been lead to believe they were. Anyway, I think it'd be rly cool to see a hybrid tool btwn that concept & your obsidian spear (obsidian spear tip at the top) of a longer spear/pole, tht has a metal tip at the bottom that concept. Every man has an inner primal energy that knows how to make a spear or knife with just some simple lashing, a stone and a stick. Sometimes all you really need is just the stick and a sharpening tool to make a knife or spear. Every man has an inner primal energy that knows how to make a spear or knife with just some simple lashing, a stone and a stick. Sometimes all you really need is just the stick and a sharpening tool to make a knife or spear. I always come to watch these kinds of videos cuz it's just interesting to watch how these guys make these spear heads, arrow heads and knife blades with just some simple tools. This is definitely some fine craftsmanship 👌🏼

If pieces broke off in the wound that would create pieces of glass, sharper than a scalpel, constantly cutting the flesh. It would literally never heal. @@Anonymous-hx3pu hmm no, obsidian is know as one of the most fragil materials. its literally known as a 1 use weapon if used as such for that very reason. yes flesh can and always does dull the blade/edge after one use and thats IF it doesnt shatter on impact like it normally does. its a useless material for a weapon as the moment it cuts literally anything, it can dull. thats how they are able to even make these shapes with obsidian, because its so fragile. hitting skin at full force vs a rock, huge difference. the rick will chip it easily, the skin does the same but on a larger scale as the whole edge is effected. try it out urself. make an obsidian blade of any kind, test it out and see what u learn. its literally a useless material as a weapon for any reason. even if it is used which i can be, the food is inedible afterwards because of all the obsidian glass shards in the meat. as a defence tool u have literally 1 shot to take down anything threatening u. if its more than 1, then ur screwed literally. so no, u dont have to hit a rock/bone or anything hard to break obsidian, its know for how fragile it actually is after all. thats its most defining feature actually, its extremely fragile. its more fragile than glass and normal glass is quite fragile as is.

People don’t give early humans the respect they deserve. They are our ancestors so they survived so we could live. That extends to respecting indigenous cultures. If we disrespect indigenous cultures we disrespect our ancestors. A lot of this technology has been forgotten so I’m glad to see someone working at bringing it back to life. Some more interaction with archaeologists would be good in future videos.
