FBI whistleblower Coleen Rowley joins MintPress News director Mnar Adley to discuss the bipartisan support for Israel in Washington, the decline of the American empire, the U.S.' addiction to forever wars, and the ongoing attack on whistleblowers like herself.
Coleen Rowley is a former FBI whistleblower who came to the nation's attention in 2002, after she testified to Congress about 9/11 and the intelligence failures that allowed it to happen. Later that year, she was named Time's Person of the Year.
Since leaving the FBI, Rowley has become a peace activist, campaigning for an end to forever wars, drawing attention to intelligence misdeeds and supporting the actions of other whistleblowers.

Jun 8, 1967 The USS Liberty was a U.S. Navy ship that was attacked by Israel in 1967 during the Six-Day War, killing 34 crew members and injuring 174.
Israel insisted it was a case of mistaken identity. It alleged that pilots were exhausted having fought so hard over the previous days. The US naval vessel was thought to be an Egyptian warship.
And that’s why it was attacked with rockets and cannons and missiles and torpedoes.
But Brooks doesn’t buy the Israeli apology. Standing next to the graves of his shipmates in Arlington National Cemetery he tells me “It wasn’t a tragic accident, It was a deliberate attack. They knew who we were. They tried to sink us. They wanted us out to either bring the Americans into the war by blaming the Arabs or we picked up some information about their war plans”.

The IDF was founded out of members of three groups considered terrorists by the British forces they attacked in Mandatory Palestine.
Lord Moyne a British military officer in Palestine was assassinated by Lehi , considered the most violent of three Zionist terrorist groups in Mandatory Palestine.
He was shot dead leaving his residence in Egypt in November 1944. The assassination shocked the world.
That same week the British forces in Europe took the surrender of several thousand SS troops in an area of Denmark saving the lives of Jews in hiding in the area designated for transport to the death camps.
The British suffered losses doing so. The following week the RAF began food drops to the starving Dutch civilians.
Lehi would later blow up a Palestinian police station in 1947 killing 30 civilians including Jews and several British officers when the British turned back a ship of Jewish refugees arriving from France who had no post war Legal immigration documents to enter Palestine.
Lehi would later found the IDF after the British pulled out in May 1948 and the leader of another terrorist group would become Israel's first prime minister. Ben Gurion.
Gurion was a wanted criminal in Poland under Soviet rule before entering Palestine in the late 1920's and later went on the run from the British in Palestine for criminal acts.
Ibrahim Stern of the Stern gang, now a celebrated martyr in Israel was killed by British police officers after he was involved in killing several British policemen in Jerusalem.
Stern, a stanch Zionist activist famously wrote a letter to Hitler in an attempt to form a pact to remove the British from Mandatory Palestine.
Hitler never responded.
One can only imagine the fate of the Jews already in Palestine had Rommel and the accompanying Gestapo made it to Palestine from the western desert helped by Zionist terrorist saboteurs attacking British forces in Egypt from behind.
Actually we know their fate would have been identical to the Jews cleared out of Tunisia and Morocco by Italian and German forces and transported to Polands death camps.
Had Rommel made it to Iran, he would have secured the oil wells needed to wipe out Russia and formed up with army group south through the shared Iran/Russia border.
D Day would never have been possible without a two front assault on Germany, the Soviets moving from the east and Britain without the oil in Iran would have lost the Med and vital supply shipping to the far east war.
Since the 1997 Irish peace treaty, members of the IRA leadership have become the dominant party in government within Ireland voted in democratically by the Irish people.
They have committed to the peace treaty ever since even when Brexit threatened to break that treaty by forcing a trade border between Northern Ireland (British) and the Republic of Ireland still in the EU.
Brexit was forced upon the Irish who didn't even vote majority in favour of it.
That is honourable and demonstrates a firm commitment to an ongoing peaceful solution after so much bloodshed.
In contrast Israel has broken over 200 UN resolutions since 1967, stealing land expanding outside the legal borders in the 67 agreement, committing human rights breaches in the west bank against Palestinian civilians, illegal settlements, imprisoning minors without charges
and occupying Gaza which was under Egypt's rule originally ,Israel only leaving in 2005, showing utter contempt for the very organisation, the UN which awarded them statehood in 1948.
Israel and its allies:
Along with the blatant attack on the US warship in 1967 killing US navy personnel for what can only be to hide what they were doing in the Golan heights, fearing the US ship was about to expose it,
Israel also supplied weapons to the Argentinian Junta ignoring a weapons ban imposed by the US and several other countries.
Those weapons were used against the British task force in the Falklands conflict in 1982.

Israel stated it made the arms sales as it was concerned about its own economy..
I'm honestly puzzled as to why so many British vets support Israel.
Perhaps they aren't aware.
My Grandfather was based in Egypt and took R&R in Palestine during WW2. An RAF officer. He left in 1946.
He never had a good word to say about Israel largely because of the terrorist actions during WW2 which he felt was ungrateful considering what the British were doing to liberate European Jews from a genocide.
Lord Moyne's Wiki page describes his killers as terrorists even today.

My "limited hangout" radar/alarm is going off like crazy (I'm not denegrating MPN, bc they're great and I see the angle they're coming from).
AQ has always been a western construct, George HW Bush, former present & father of current president, met with Shafig Bin Laden, under the auspices of a Carlyle Group special shareholder meeting throughout the period the "attacks" were happening.
I had such a staunch belief that something was wrong with what happened thst day that I took a special interest in physics in HS/College, & week 1 stuff of Physics 100 (Newton's 3rd Law - equal & opposite reactions) shows that 30% of a damaged building can't utterly pulverize 70% of a healthy building - while experiencing the linear acceleration you'd expect from gravity alone (meaning core columns & 3x structural redundancy didn't slow/stop the collapse as it should have.
For example, a building with 3x redundancy 15 floors falling from support failures from the plane impact means about 5ish floors under the impact should have been collapsed/mutually damaged/destoyed by the falling section.
After those 5 floors + the 3x redundancy, the falling part is out of potential kinetic energy. The ONLY way for observation to match science is to assume the support columns under the impact no longer function to slow the fall. How do you get support columns to no longer function? By cutter charges, ie an inside job.
That's about 5% of the scientific anomalies from that day alone, & there have been no policy changes in terms to skyscraper building since? So yeah, compartmentalization & "failure to communicate" is the most BS explanation I've heard for that event. Smh.
