The real shame is...Chippewa, as good a boot as they may be today, is no where near the quality they were in 60's, 70's, and 80's. Most American shoe companies, have decreased quality dramatically. All for the sake of greed. "The love of money; is the root of all evil".
Are you familiar with the Chippewa Kush n Kollar? I have a pair, I am fairly sure the upper and last are very good quality. I'm very curious about the sole construction though. Kind of a rare boot not sure if it's even worth cutting open. Took me a couple winters to fully break them in. Impervious to Canadian winters... so far
Kush n kollar is just the name for Chippewas padded collar. It comes on all of Chippewa super loggers or super dna is what they call them now. From the sounds of it you have the Arctic boot 29518 model number maybe?
