Deke, you misconstrue the meaning of ‘sabotage’. It’s the act of intentionally trying to stop someone from achieving something or to stop something from developing. Regardless of whether players were assigned to positions other than their strengths, you can’t say that it was done deliberately to obtain a negative outcome. Peace ✌🏻

The craziest thing was the coaches making Green the starter from day 1 in camp. They never do that with rookies
Dotson was a good lineman but for some reason he fell off the following years and attitude, Greene played his position I think he could have gotten it, when he was going on the swing he was pretty good l, but when he tried to anchor and pass block he was horrible. That didn't change really for the Texans

I want to double dip on WR in draft. Several combos seem interesting to me: Leggette/McCaffrey ... Corley/McCaffrey. Maybe Rice. I would love see another big outside guy to keep defense from doubling 14.

One of Tomlins key weaknesses is that he doesn’t think strategically. He is constantly allowing the OL coach to play guys out of position. Green was mainly a G in college then they try to make him a C. Dotson played on a different side(R) in college. They draft a guy to play RT then move him to left. Dotson obviously is now doing well in his natural position which is a testament to some idiotic personnel moves that the Steelers have made.

I don’t think we wanted to let go of Dotson. We just have Seumalo and Daniels, and it would’ve been hard for Dotson to crack the lineup with those two.

Why not bring Juju back on a cheaper deal? He was a pretty good run blocking WR, and can do well as a big bodied slot receiver.
If the steelers would of drafted Linderbaum like they should of...and kept Dotson at right guard and signed one of seamolu / daniels for left guard...we would be 1 right tackle away from being an elite oline

I don't like Pat Meyer or his O-Line philosophy. He taught the basics at a coaching seminar at OSU back in '12, or '13 & his hyper-aggressive technique philosophy is why I think their zone blocking cohesiveness has sucked the last few years.
The poor QB play made switching back to a power/gap scheme an imperative. If they do this a 3rd year in a row with starting off nearly exclusively outside &/or split zone, then itll finally be time to move off this staff.
Ayuik is a stud but he's not worth 26 mill 20 at most and that's probably too much

The broncos won't trade Sutton to us after we have their qb that they are paying 97% of his salary to play for us. Brandon Aiyuk will cost too much. And there really isn't anyone else out there. We going to draft a wr in round 2, rock with him, and hopefully Pickens doesn't destroy the locket room or throw his helmet at Mr. Unlimited.
Have you guys thought about how we always say “oh, the Steelers shouldn’t pay this guy this much because next year or two years from now they’re gonna have to pay these other guys” and then next year comes and they always rearrange some stuff and figure out the money situation?

Disagree with Aiyuk being an upgrade over Johnson. Yeah, he was good with 49ers when samuel and kittle wasn't getting those targets due to injuries, but he was nameless in New England and may regress back to such outside of San Francisco, IMO.

No Aiyuk or any other WR trades.... please Steelers.. Aiyuk is awesome; but the Steelers have the secret sauce when it comes to drafting receivers in the draft. They should trade for CB/S/Center/OT/OG. And draft a WR in at least the 2nd round and give Russell Wilson a weapon in his one-year contract term.

It's been a bad coaching staff, many many misses. Colbert takes blame but there are many players that Tomlin mishandled.

You and off-season OL coach are right. In recent years, the Steelers have miss managed and miss coached some of our fallen. They have also miss lead or disrespected their word in dealing with some players. Bad judgement, yes. Steelers didn't get good backups for aging starters, in other words, they weren't depth conscious. They left players get old and less effective which hindered the team. Took entirely too long to replace old or injured players. This took away any opportunity to 7 for another Lombardi. We ruined Kenny and Mason. They lied to them. We've had a RB, several QBs, WR,
OL, etc, misused. We've wasted too much tallent. Our coaches are spoiled because we have older established players who want to come here. But lately we haven't put our players in a good place to be stars and the younger players will take notice. We may experience the opposite effect in the future, players not wanting to come here. This needs fixed asap. Our coaching needs to be.fixed, now.

I mean Dotson was an all-pro that just got paid $50 mil over 3 years.
The criticism has to do with Tomlin, Pat Meyer, & their demand that guys be positionally flexible (except for where it's blatantly obvious - apparently) along the O-line. It cost them an all pro guard, & now they're considering bringing back Mason Cole bc they won't move any of their guys with C experience to C.
