***** ah, but his grab range isn't the worst in the game anymore and gets more off of throws than the majority of the cast. Hes also got the absolute best recovery in the game now

This set was sick. No other words could fittingly describe it.
On paper, I wouldn't feel like this matchup favours Pikachu at all, being drastically outranged and outdamaged and the frame data and speed advantage being somewhat limited (or so it feels to me). I guess it really came down to Pikachu's edgeguarding, and then some unfortunate M2K mistakes.
10/10, would watch again.
pikachu does have the thunderjolt and quick attack as unique approach options, and a far superior offstage game (one of the few characters who can reliably gimp). Pikachu is still arguably the 2nd or 3rd best character in the game, just not a lot of people advancing the meta right now, really just ESAM at the top level
+Nathanael Solomon Mind you the Meta ends with Cloud. With no more patches coming, what ever meta there is, its never changing now.

+Melvin Viruet Yup. Exactly. I wish they actually buffed certain characters who really need them, but overall I'm happy with the all the patch changes. It's not perfect of course, but It's far more balanced than any of the other Smash games. I'm curious to see how the meta evolves. I just hope it doesn't end up only being Shiek and Zero Suit Samus, and Rosalina winning tourneys. I want to see a different character win a big tourney.

I come from the 2021 and didn't have idea of how much I miss watch Esam's Pikachu from Smash 4, he was always giving a rough time to the players that use the top tiers (Bayo or Cloud) damm man, what a good times.

when d1 mentioned that EE and TK were coming on for doubles, I initially thought he meant they were teaming in doubles haha. that would be cool. they're the best commentators for sure but it'd be nice to see them play more every now and then.
The commentators are on Mew2Kings side the whole time while Esam make some serious plays.

Excellent commentary! I dont think guys like that get enough credit for what they do, so kudos to them. Hate to see a choke but m2k's been dropping a lot of matches lately. Id personally stop trying to charge limit so much, but im not a smash legend so...yeah. Esam clutch game on point.
My favourite Melee player vs my favourite sm4sh player. This was great.
not gonna lie, m2ks reaction timing and thought process is amazing... but you do everything to perfect it is almost 99% predictable. You can easily see when he is trying to bait or fade out arials.

Oh man, this is like the best thing ever for me. My mains duking it out.
This set was so good. Shame Mew2king missed that tech, but both he and Esam played really well here.
Shame he was booted out of top 8, but I gotta say I am more excited about the Smash 4 scene than I've been in a while thanks to M2K picking up Cloud and starting to resurface. I love Zero but seeing M2K take him to game 5 makes me hopeful that we'll be getting some fresh (for Smash 4) blood grand finals of major events this year.

m2k plays a mean Cloud, too bad he doesn't want to play Shiek in this game or he might contest Zero (with enough practice). Feels like his Smash 4 is behind all his other scenes.

Esam won 'cos he adapted his playstyle to the opponent, becoming more aggressive stock after stock. Also the last kill, jab -> the opponent fell from platform -> backair, was amazing and m2k could do nuffin (it was untechable)
2:57 Out of all the things I've seen from playing smash 4, I have to say, this is something I can not explain, what the hell was that?
+Game Striker Pause the game right at the start or end of a quick attack. Pikas body gets stretched vertically. That counts as his hurtbox.
+Tim S oh, I see it now, it basically extends his body, thus his hurt box and after the animation ended he got hit by the dair's active hit box.
he couldn't have recovered because he would've had to have had reversed the up b which, even if he did find time for it, I don't think esam would've allowed him to do

2:57.. what.. was that :S A glitch caused by the quick attack?
m2k hit the balloon with dair, counting as a hurtbox, which extended how long the dair stayed out. Since dair with cloud already stays out a long time, the extension was enough to hit esam.

u could tell these commentators were low key beefing.
miscommunication->confusion->uncertain->fear->defensive->passive aggression.
some general advice for the commentators about miscommunication, pay attention to grammar, specifically how u form the subject of ur sentence.acknowledge the projection of u thoughts on to actions of the players, but more importantly,acknowledge it, then move on so that can u better focus on the actual game.
