(otherwise it would have been more likely that Mare would have that ring instead, as Aura already has the Bukubuku watch.)

I can't wait to when we get a video focused on Nazarick itself. It has so many levels, detail and bosses to each place, it's very much well thought out like a lot of things in the novel
On the Elves, the Tolkien representation seems to come from the Nordic's mythology of Alfes. Which are quite similar to the Nymphs in the Greek mythology as an example. Generally described as been a tad smaller than human, but more beautiful and agile. While the Elves from the Anglo - Saxon mythology have more similarities with Sylphs, Sprites or Leprechauns. More smaller than humans with good agility. I was quite surprised to by the Elves representation in Harry Potter which seems to be more in line with the Anglo Saxon view. 😅
If you consider who the author of Harry Potter is, it makes a lot of sense. Imo the best elves will always be those who are similar to Tolkien's view. (Also shared by World of Warcraft, Japanese manga/anime, etc. If you want some short disgusting creatures, you can always say they are imps, goblins or so. Elves remain as "the magic and upgraded version of humans" for the vast majority of writers.
I've argued this any times that Tolkien during his travels took lore from the middle east cause u can see many inspirations from Asian Greek n African mythology in his tales

I would say he is still ruthless as he would be fine killing anyone as long as it For his benefits but I respect it

You know if you take a close look at the twins stats you can see in some ways Mare is actually stronger than Aura the way I see he has advantages over her and practically almost every field with her only having it in like three considering their Creator made him to be rather docile towards his sister but in the end of a fight I think he would come out on top if you look at their stat sheet at 21:52 you can clearly see the difference in areas between them with him practically like I said having advantage over her and most fields and with her only having an advantage in let's say three
Mare is stronger than his sister tho, having the 2nd highest known stats (with Albedo) among the Floor Guardians.. Aura, without her beasts, is probably the 2nd weakest of the FGs, but Mare by himself is more than capable of dishing out serious damage, given he's able to cast his spells..
the reason aura is even a floor guardian is her ability to gather information, to assassinate, scan (like there's no way any invisible units can get pass her), her summons if im not mistaken can be on par (or even stronger) than dead knights. her summons have their own ability and elemental affinity, aura is a master tactician (her ability to command her summons like soldiers) yeah, all of this will get toasted by mare. but mare might be prone to assassination (which is one of caster's main weaknesses). please do correct me if im wrong tho
Yeah, Mare is ironically far more powerfull then Aura. Whether that's because Bukubukuchagama had a build in mind for Aura and it just didn't pan out or if it was by design.
@@filipvadas7602 I think it's intentional. They were always meant to be fighting together so they're 2 sides to the same coin: Aura is a pure utility build and Mare is a pure damage build. When combined and playing off each other's strengths and weakness they make one very strong build that would be more potent than 2 balanced builds.

I personally think that Druid, High Druid, Nature's Herald, and Disciple of Disaster are all one class tree that branches after High Druid into the support focused Nature's Herald or the damage focused Disciple of Disaster, and Mare only having 5 levels in DoD but 10 in NH shows that he was intended to be the support to Aura's dps, but they knew better than to make him full support without any significant offense vs lvl 100 players. Forest Mage seems like an alternate version of Mage that is able to cast some basic druid spells as non-divine spells and adds a few of its own. Maybe with the ability to do the higher tier metamagic type spellcasting with druid spells?

One of the reasons I like your vids is we get to see So-bin art that isn't included in the english-language LNs. I have become a big fan of his art since binging the LNs.
Something to consider is the one thing they lack is a single target bruiser/tank which happens to be their creator. Maybe she took a more practical approach to their use vs her brothers heavily specialized approach. He took the route of a solo duelist whereas he's a single target glass cannon. Whereas she chose to value them to compliment her builds weaknesses like a lack of mobbing or aoe. It's almost like her brother made a character that could challenge his sister's trio. A single unit that accomplishes everything at once whereas she needs her units to supplement her tanks build. It's also cute that mare is lower stated but aura is higher than shalltear. With mare being the one who interacts with her and has a dynamic with her. It could be a parallel to her possible inferiority to her brother in-game game even though irl she's more successful than him irl. It's ironic that her brother is a geek for fetish but she a popular voice actress is too embarrassed to want to be seen as such. I think these are all loose ends with no definite point but I think there's more to speculate in character dynamic and in-game use and interaction with their servants then just what they do by themselves and fetishes people may have.
I gotta say, I just love this video. Besides being a very interesting topic, you have done a great work making it. The amount of preparation you put in to write the script really shows your passion. And you seem to have good historic and philosophic knowledge too. One criticism I may add is that the background video becomes stale after a while. I'd like to think of this duo in terms of Poker. Mare is your "pocket cards" aka "hole cards". In other words, the ones in your hand. She's like your pair of aces or your ace and king of the same suit. Quite effective on their own. Aura is your "community cards" aka the ones dealt face up in the center of the table. With Aura's abilities, she can complement or supplement Mare's arsenal. I'm not saying she's the deciding factor but with her in the field, she can make Mare's pair of aces, or his ace and king become a full house, a four of a kind, a straight, a flush, or even a straight flush. I know it's not the best analogy but it's the first thing that came into my mind lol.

I love the contrast of Mare being so self-conscious and so powerful that he was nervous to kill everyone including Jircniv. That kind of situations are the ones that makes me prefer him over Aura, even tho I like tomboys.
I enjoy watching the twins on screen, I like Mare's extremely destructive magic while I also am a fan of Aura's love for beasts. I lean a little more towards Aura, since as a lover of animals in general but also mythical creatures, the magical beasts in anime tickle my fancy.
Given that Overlord was based, to whatever degree, on D&D (3.X, specifically), it's likely the author knew about the Feat, that characters with the Light Sensitivity trait could take, that would negate any disadvantages that came from being in light. This would be the easiest way to hand wave this away for the twins. Though, any experienced player or character builder will tell you that it would be a complete waste to use one of your Feat slots on that, since Light Sensitivity only ever imparted a -1 to Attack Rolls and also to the Search and Spot skills. I would place Aura and Mare around the Lv. 12-14 range in terms of a D&D character. By that time, in 3.5, a -1 really isn't going to make or break your character. Besides, that's exactly why they also come with Darkness as a Spell-Like Ability they can use to negate this as well. "But Drow can't see through Darkness, even their own!" Shut the fuck up! That's absolutely stupid. DM Privilege; Drow Darkness isn't the Darkness spell, so when Drow Darkness is cast, the Drow retains 10' of Vision, but the ability also now requires Concentration to maintain. Dispell Magic will still effect it and Counterspell will remain ineffective.
Disciple of Disaster is confirmed to be a weaker version of World Disaster Plus Aura is noted to be the strongest Floor Guardian in group battles, as her many beasts would be buffed to around level 90

Other than aura's breath although a bit of a spoiler, in the LN she plays with her pets not only because she like it but it has the effects of improving their stats or potential that's she needs to be partially nocturnal to play with the monsters that's active at night

You know if you take a close look at the twins stats you can see in some ways Mare is actually stronger than Aura the way I see he has advantages over her and practically almost every field with her only having it in like three considering their Creator made him to be rather docile towards his sister but in the end of a fight I think he would come out on top if you look at their stat sheet at 21:52 you can clearly see the difference in areas between them with him practically like I said having advantage over her and most fields and with her only having an advantage in let's say three
Disciple of Disaster sounds like it falls in Ulbert territory. Wish we had more info on these classes.
Mare is stronger than his sister tho, having the 2nd highest known stats (with Albedo) among the Floor Guardians.. Aura, without her beasts, is probably the 2nd weakest of the FGs, but Mare by himself is more than capable of dishing out serious damage, given he's able to cast his spells..
the reason aura is even a floor guardian is her ability to gather information, to assassinate, scan (like there's no way any invisible units can get pass her), her summons if im not mistaken can be on par (or even stronger) than dead knights. her summons have their own ability and elemental affinity, aura is a master tactician (her ability to command her summons like soldiers)
yeah, all of this will get toasted by mare. but mare might be prone to assassination (which is one of caster's main weaknesses).

Yeah, Mare is ironically far more powerfull then Aura. Whether that's because Bukubukuchagama had a build in mind for Aura and it just didn't pan out or if it was by design.
@@filipvadas7602 I think it's intentional. They were always meant to be fighting together so they're 2 sides to the same coin: Aura is a pure utility build and Mare is a pure damage build. When combined and playing off each other's strengths and weakness they make one very strong build that would be more potent than 2 balanced builds.

7:00 mare is more independent than given here but is docile to his sister. You could also say he’s lazy since he likes to oversleep, or lower the temp of his room, and tuck into his bedroll, much to Aura’s disliking
I personally think that Druid, High Druid, Nature's Herald, and Disciple of Disaster are all one class tree that branches after High Druid into the support focused Nature's Herald or the damage focused Disciple of Disaster, and Mare only having 5 levels in DoD but 10 in NH shows that he was intended to be the support to Aura's dps, but they knew better than to make him full support without any significant offense vs lvl 100 players. Forest Mage seems like an alternate version of Mage that is able to cast some basic druid spells as non-divine spells and adds a few of its own. Maybe with the ability to do the higher tier metamagic type spellcasting with druid spells?

Solution could use the healing scroll given by ainz because of one of her classes to overcome that restriction

One of the reasons I like your vids is we get to see So-bin art that isn't included in the english-language LNs. I have become a big fan of his art since binging the LNs.
Something to consider is the one thing they lack is a single target bruiser/tank which happens to be their creator. Maybe she took a more practical approach to their use vs her brothers heavily specialized approach. He took the route of a solo duelist whereas he's a single target glass cannon. Whereas she chose to value them to compliment her builds weaknesses like a lack of mobbing or aoe. It's almost like her brother made a character that could challenge his sister's trio. A single unit that accomplishes everything at once whereas she needs her units to supplement her tanks build. It's also cute that mare is lower stated but aura is higher than shalltear. With mare being the one who interacts with her and has a dynamic with her. It could be a parallel to her possible inferiority to her brother in-game game even though irl she's more successful than him irl. It's ironic that her brother is a geek for fetish but she a popular voice actress is too embarrassed to want to be seen as such. I think these are all loose ends with no definite point but I think there's more to speculate in character dynamic and in-game use and interaction with their servants then just what they do by themselves and fetishes people may have.

I gotta say, I just love this video. Besides being a very interesting topic, you have done a great work making it. The amount of preparation you put in to write the script really shows your passion. And you seem to have good historic and philosophic knowledge too. One criticism I may add is that the background video becomes stale after a while. You could for example show entire scenes of them with subs playing while talking about their lore, ,rather than 20 second clips

Mare is your "pocket cards" aka "hole cards". In other words, the ones in your hand. She's like your pair of aces or your ace and king of the same suit. Quite effective on their own.
Aura is your "community cards" aka the ones dealt face up in the center of the table. With Aura's abilities, she can complement or supplement Mare's arsenal. I'm not saying she's the deciding factor but with her in the field, she can make Mare's pair of aces, or his ace and king become a full house, a four of a kind, a straight, a flush, or even a straight flush.
I know it's not the best analogy but it's the first thing that came into my mind lol.

Apparently, Dark Elves in Yggdrasil aren't the dark skinned Drow that usually come to mind when the therm "Dark Elf" is heard. Maybe the regular elves are just super duper pale, or maybe it's the different colored eyes?

Note: The idea of elves, (and other fey) being small is an idea that had it's origin in the Victorian era. Traditionally they were believed to be human like in stature.
That explains why Aura wanted Filo as a pet in Isekai Quartet.
I love the contrast of Mare being so self-conscious and so powerful that he was nervous to kill everyone including Jircniv. That kind of situations are the ones that makes me prefer him over Aura, even tho I like tomboys.
I could see mare having levels in the wizard equivalent as well. Though that's only a theory as it would make sense for a high aoe caster.

I enjoy watching the twins on screen, I like Mare's extremely destructive magic while I also am a fan of Aura's love for beasts. I lean a little more towards Aura, since as a lover of animals in general but also mythical creatures, the magical beasts in anime tickle my fancy.

Given that Overlord was based, to whatever degree, on D&D (3.X, specifically), it's likely the author knew about the Feat, that characters with the Light Sensitivity trait could take, that would negate any disadvantages that came from being in light. This would be the easiest way to hand wave this away for the twins.
Though, any experienced player or character builder will tell you that it would be a complete waste to use one of your Feat slots on that, since Light Sensitivity only ever imparted a -1 to Attack Rolls and also to the Search and Spot skills.
I would place Aura and Mare around the Lv. 12-14 range in terms of a D&D character. By that time, in 3.5, a -1 really isn't going to make or break your character. Besides, that's exactly why they also come with Darkness as a Spell-Like Ability they can use to negate this as well.
"But Drow can't see through Darkness, even their own!"
Shut the fuck up! That's absolutely stupid. DM Privilege; Drow Darkness isn't the Darkness spell, so when Drow Darkness is cast, the Drow retains 10' of Vision, but the ability also now requires Concentration to maintain. Dispell Magic will still effect it and Counterspell will remain ineffective.
Disciple of Disaster is confirmed to be a weaker version of World Disaster
Plus Aura is noted to be the strongest Floor Guardian in group battles, as her many beasts would be buffed to around level 90

58:00 she took damage from hold of rib, it was describe to have closed it on her like a bear trap. Normally it would’ve continued to do damage but shalltear was immune to movement restrictions so she escaped

JRR Tolkien's elves are based more on Scandinavian and Norse folk lore. Ygdrassil, being based on the Norse 9 realms of the world tree, would be from that specifically from the real of Alfheim

I think that's why maruyama sensei decided to let nazarik get zesshi, because her power is basically came from ygdrasil sistem power. And to think mare could beat her one on one all gear up is really surprising for me, considering mare is an AOE type.
it was because zesshi build was shit and ainz said a level 90 couldn't beat a level 100 and zesshi was only a level 88 vs a level 100 and one of the strongest npc in nazarick
