I would love to provide more. I have a request in to the IBM archives to digitize more episodes of Endicott In-Site. They have many more tapes in their library, but unfortunately they have a big backlog and limited budget to get the U-matic tapes converted. I should follow up again, as it has been awhile since I've asked.
30 years ago... its so sad knowing this place would be completely abandoned just 12 years later and now being torn down and forgotten. Just one of hundreds of stories of the northeastern rust belt. Seeing the one lab dedicated to shipping and boxing satisfaction proves this was such a different time. Flash forward to now and it's like big companies want you to hate them, 2022 IBM being a perfect example. I highly doubt this level of manufacturing and engineering will ever return to the US, a nation in complete decline
Between the textile mills, EJ Shoes and IBM the triple cities area was a proud and beautiful area of mostly single family homes w/ green spaces and those wonderful antique carousels. Now filled with foreclosed houses and collapsing commercial buildings. Downtown Endicott was beautiful 30 years ago, nearly dead now. Ppl need to vote their wallets and quit getting career politicians elected over and over
I would love to see more IBM Endicott content!
