I absolutely love that this trailer basically tells us nothing about the movie: I wanna be surprised. They know the concept and cast are enough to make us watch it, no need to show us the whole movie like most trailers do

I love all the references and this trailer was so well done! The tiny white toenails on her tiny feet as a giant doll and the little chime when Margo winks gets me, it all looks ridiculously comical in the best way! I had my reservations when I heard they were making a movie but I have to admit I'm really excited to see how this movie goes!
Now THIS is how you do a teaser. Show none of the plot, just something to establish just the kind of movie we'll be getting - a bizarre take on the Barbie franchise. I fully intend on seeing this and Oppenheimer within up to 24 hours of each other.
Will you be able to tell them apart when you're done, tho..... this is brainwarping stuff.

I never really cared about Barbie dolls, but what impresses me about this footage is that it somehow captures the energy of an animated film despite being live action, which is an achievement I thought I'd never witness. It's definitely got me intrigued.

Barbie is actually a great toy. She was the first to show that female figures can be diff roles and jobs. She can be anything ! Even if her ratios were off it wasn’t like I ever thought people were gonna be that shape even as a tiny child. 😊

This is interesting and someone should do a study because I too always knew I wasn't going to look like Barbie. I was a little Hispanic girl with curly black hair though so maybe that's why the math just wasn't adding up that I'd suddenly be Barbie. In my mind barbie was a professional and that's why she was so presentable, and when I grew older I always saw Barbie as girl who didn't have to give up her femininity in order to be a scientist or astronaut.
I remember when I was getting ready for a big event I made a comment about how Barbie had my respect because she had to WORK to look that good. No wonder she had so many jobs, the upkeep is also expensive. A friend said something about how it actually wasn't realistic and she was MADE that way etc etc. I realized then that to my friend Barbie was an object. To me Barbie was a real person in my head that I used to reenact imagined scenarios irl. Like a character from a book who I then acted the movie out with. I wasn't her she was just a character.

Barbie is usually always mistreated and considered the silly blonde girl just into fashion, but she is actually a strong independent woman who can do any job she puts herself into!
Now.. when I saw this Trailer pop up on my feed, I thought to myself “oh here we go” I bet it won’t even live up to peoples expectations. Then something told me to click & watch. I’m not even gonna lie, this has been the BEST trailer I have seen for a film in YEARS. The Aesthetics are EVERYTHING. I’ve never felt so excited to watch something like this in ages. It was to the point, didn’t reveal anything of what’s actually going on. The colours are Beautiful, the energy was captured PERFECTLY, Barbie actually looks like a DOLL. I’m actually Impressed. Congratulations to Greta Gerwig on this. What a piece of ART. It’s got people who don’t even care for Barbie wanting to watch this, now THAT is how you DO IT.
My 35th birthday cake was inspired by THIS Barbie, my dad called me Barbie, and his last gift was a limited edition Barbie... hell yeah, I'll be on the line for the premier.
Wow! Huh! It never occurred to me that before Barbie, dolls are just baby dolls. What Matel did is indeed quite revolutionary. I love looking at the limited edition ones with beautiful handmade dresses and jewelry.
Except that isn't even remotely true. Perhaps from an American child consumer perspective only, but historically dolls have been presented as fully grown adults for centuries. Japan has an entire holiday based around this.
There were dolls that were adults, but they were usually decorative or gimmicks sent by clothing companies to show customers what their outfits will look like. But during the time when Barbie came out the norm was little girls would play with baby dolls, and there was a big moral panic that women wouldn't know how to take care of babies anymore because they preferred Malibu Barbie when they were 10. Personally I find Barbie interesting because it was one of the first commercially available dolls that wasn't about pretending to be your mother.
Oh gosh yeah, have you seen the "Haunted Barbie Collection"? So cool and so beautiful. There's a Vampire, Ghost, Zombie etc.

Doesn't get any better than that! I love that the first glimpse we get of Barbie was in the iconic black and white swimsuit and the white sunglasses! That is classic!

This is a great teaser trailer loved the establishment of how revolutionary Barbie was and is felt like a classic commercial with the kids throwing their baby dolls away - plus the flashes of the movie at the end 10/10

I was gagging a bit at a "Barbie" movie, until I saw that Margot Robbie is in the title role. Her role choices are complicated and often twisted characters...enough to make this a worthwhile watch.

I used to love playing with dolls as a kid, and while I do that no longer, I am thrilled to see that they are transporting one of my beloved toys onto the big screen.

the first part is a parody of the opening of the movie/epic ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ where an alien monolith arrives on earth to grant early humans advanced knowledge and creativity, leading to modern humanity as we know it.. in this case barbie showed up to end wooden+porcelain dolls’ careers 🤩✨💖 i think it’s much funnier if u get the reference 😉
