Shahrukb speaks fast and expresses himself more openly but that doesn’t make him more fluent than Amitabh. Amitabh’s english is way more refined and rich.

both shahrukh and amitabh break the indian linguistic stereotype in english as far as delivery but why speak in a foreign language often (apart from talking to non hindi speakers in this vid) when they're here to represent bollywood cinema made for a particular non english demographic is quite pretentious for the most part all across the board in indian cinema

Amitabh Bachchan is certainly fluent and has a nice well modulated voice. Most good actors have that kind of clarity and they use that talent to convey their thoughts and script lines. This may have something to do with the IELTS tests. I am not really impressed with that test. I did it some years back and achieved an 8.5 band score overall. I would have scored 9 if the examiner examining the writing test had a sense of humour. Jeeves as an expletive.

With all due respect to Bachchan Sahab, any SSC candidate will crush a film star in English. They're only looked upto and put on a pedestal because of their affluence.

All of a sudden a good well spoken language is adhered and glorified by the public… I am a physics teacher and this is happening to me almost all the time … initially I took pride in it but later was amazed how the current generation(code name GenZ , I guess) is finding the words which is were common to my generation (90’s kids). I guess the reason is how the entire generation is sinking into the cruel state of mediocrity where most of the content is consumed through shallow reels and shorts. The literature and history is read through senseless posts. Music production is hitting NEW’s rock bottoms with easy obnoxious words without melody ( mostly Rap). So while the maker of this video is gasping at the normal conversation style of a well read person, while if u ask a well informed person he will simply praise the eloquence of the answers …

Well put. I grew up in an era (80s) when internet and social media were unheard of. We then were obsessed with reading newspapers and books as it was the primary source of both knowledge and entertainment, as much as the current generation is obsessed with their smartphones. And In the process, we ended up enriching our language skills. Congressman Shashi Tharoor has mentioned this as well in many interviews .I remember reading every other grammar and vocabulary book available in the market then. Interestingly, most of those books are currently out of print. What is considered a difficult word today used to be part of normal conversations then, among educated people. On the other hand, Information is readily available these days due to the ubiquity of the internet, provided one looks into the right source. Regarding music, the less said, the better.

The Indian Film is a Very Moderate Commercialization of Literature. Specially those are studied the Literature and Grammar of Language. Initially, it is covering the Social Life and importance of Constitution, Law and Judiciary.
As an Actor or Actress, You are really limited to deliver the content within pre-specified Expressions.
It is not about the ability or sense of Understanding with the DRAMA EXPRESSION.
It is Social Character, It is about the Millions of Fans around the Globe and Nation.

We can put a lot of Glamor, Fame.
Cars, Camera's, Luxury of Wealthy Life, and and and, Foreign Trips, Foreigner Wife, expose of Actor or Actress Beauty.
But, if it comes to Physical Touch.
WHAT, a Social think about it?
We can not support our Hero or Heroine.
How, we are Big Heart, with Bright Vision, Civilized. A once, we think.
Poetry is a Key of Indian Film Story.
    Totally Romantic.
Actor or Actress, after returning to Home, fully accessible by Profession. Anyone can think, a Possibility.
WHAT if a Family Member goes Wrong by Thought?
    It will come, Physical Damage.
There are Good Will of Art Lover, If something is difficult for us to perform. The Actor or Actress more needed to care about, because of as Professional or Carrier Employment.

His English may surprise you, but not many people. Actors are not real scholars. They are there just to show off their little knowledge.

He comes from a very😂 learned family….both his parents were literary giants in their own rights! I remember studying a poem by his father Harivanshri Bacchan long before the son became a film star.
