This is the best video I've seen regarding the Flowbee. And let me say that you are adorable and you sound so sweet. I purchased a Flowbee about a month ago so I'll be needing another haircut soon. The first one came out pretty good and my husband said it was one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. It really was fun to do. I am 72 years old so it was nice to be able to sit at my desk and cut my hair. It usually takes me so long when I use my scissors but the Flowbee was great. I should have purchased it a long time ago. I hope to see other videos from you regarding the Flowbee but I realize we have to wait for your hair to grow. Perhaps you can get some volunteers like family members. Thank you.
Hi Kathleen, I am so happy my video is helpful to you. I really like the simplicity of the Flowbee over regular scissors too. Your genuine and sweet comment is motivation for me to make more videos. You are right, I have been growing my hair and will be putting out another video soon. I’ll try to convince my family memeber to see if they will let me cut their hair like you suggested🤞🏻. Subscribe, if you haven’t so you don’t miss the next one. Also I would really appreciated it if you would support me by sharing my videos with friends. Thanks.^_^
I am not sure how heavy it is but it does not tire me out if that is your worry. I do switch hands often to teach different parts of the head so that may help with tiredness. I have not tried flipping my hair over but I have tilt my head forward to help reach parts of my head easily. Tilting or flipping your hair over will not effect the hairstyle because the cut is based on the distance set by the spacers between your head and the blade. Hope I answered your questions.
You did a really good job making this video. You are very well spoken, showed important details, easy to understand, and so personable. I think you're a naturally skilled teacher and would do well at a RUclips career if you wanted. I just found your channel because I'm looking for ideas for cutting my own hair with a flowbee. I bought one a few months ago and am very happy with how it works. So far I've only used it to cut my hair the same length all over. My hair is very fine and wavy and gets flat and limp on top easily, so I'd be glad to trade you for some of yours and then I wouldn't need root lifting product 😉 Your wide headband technique makes so much sense and I'm going to try it. I will check out more of your videos. I hope you do more flowbee haircutting videos. I especially would like to see blending and tapering techniques around the ears. Thank you so much for making this video! ~Janet
Thanks Janet for the kind words of encouragement. I spent a long while collecting and organizing the video to be helpful for you and others who may be interested. I am surprised they have the Flowbee for sale, for awhile they were out of stock. Where did you get yours? I’d loved to trade some of your finer hair, mine are sticking straight up all the time esp with short hair. I’ll try and see if I can do a tapering demo, it’s the hardest esp for my hair. With softer hair I would think it nay be easier. That’s why I cut my hair the way I showed in this video. My hair looks best the day after I showered and slept in it. The taper is very natural. I do hope my channel can become something, I tend to be interested in different thing related to mental and physical well-being, maybe it is too much variation in content for people to follow me. I do try my best with every video I put out. Really appreciate the comment. Share, subscribe, like to support me ^_^.
Great job on this video. I've been using a Flowbee to cut my hair since May of 2020. Like you I've learned a lot about my hair and my hair turns out just slightly different each time.
😊thanks! So glad you are enjoying the process. 😅I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to cut the same exact haircut but that’s ok, I still enjoy the freedoms of cutting my own hair.
I have had a flowbee since they were first offered on an five in the morning infomercial in the late 80's early 90's (?) It was $175.00 and I never begrudged a penny of it. Thanks for sharing your video with us.
Right now? about five inches dead center, six inches plus on the sides. I do a modified shag/layer cut, and have adjusted it short (3" top, 4" sides) to long depending on how annoying I have found taking care of it is. :)
What a great tutorial! I wish I'd found this during the lockdowns. I loved your comparison with the cleaning brush; my hair is exactly the same when short lol!
You can still cut your hair now, it will keep growing. It really fun to experiment. And I’m 😅so happy someone gets what it’s like have stiff hair is like.
I'm a guy with thick longer hair. I've been using a flowbee for about a year. I actually love the results with everything except the very back of the hair where my hair meets my collar. I still really struggle with making that look good and even. I cut my hair about every 2 months and I stress out everytime I cut the back of my hair. I keep trying to find a video tutorial that shows how to make the back of the hair look even and good. Your video is probably the best I've seen although I still think that it's not perfect.
Thank you for your support. The booklet instructions are simple and have many style options. With use you will find what works best for you like I have. Although lots people give negative reviews, this works for me after I used it my way. So don’t limit yourself and experiment yourself.
I would think it works even better for fine hair since what makes it work well is the suction from the vacuum to hold the hair in place before cutting. That’s why I make sure I do all my steps to ensure I can get the strongest suction for my thick hair which is harder to catch than thin hair.
I didn't like the instructions for the short layered look in the manual. That's the style I currently have, but they don't really give good instructions. The style before that one was the wedge look. It looks easier to accomplish for a beginner. I wish they had a RUclips channel and had videos of how to accomplish certain styles.
Agree, I never follow their directions. I just figure it out myself. To see what would work on my hair, I test my idea out over the years to refine the process.
It seems he has longer length at the top with short vertical tapering sides and back. This is similar to the long under cut except the bottom is one length and not tapered. You could try tapering the bottom sides and back using the slanted spacer, try to adjust so the taper is vertical. The top could be cut to your desired length that is on the longer side. I have tried using no attachments and free-styling the vertical taper on the sides and back but it was really hard to be consistent, it’s an option to try if you are ok with messing up.
This would be the video of all my short hair cutting tips. Maybe watch it a few times to give you a better understanding how my approach works and adapt it with the slanted spacers for the bottom portion. The best way to get the look you want is to do a few haircuts, mess up and adapt your technique. My haircuts almost never look exactly alike over the few years of this process. That way you’ll find the best look for you. Hope that helps.
I usually don’t like other people touching my hair that’s why I use the Flowbee on myself to get the results I want but I am very curious to hear your reasoning behind why I should have someone else use the Flowbee on me.

I agree Kathleen!
How heavy is the Flowbee? Do your arms get tired? Can I bend my head down while I do it?

Oh yeah be sure to let me know how the head band method worked for you once you try it.

You’re welcome. We love our Flowbee ever since my dad bought it around the same time as you.

Nicely done video!
Thanks.
I used black electric tape to tape the attachments together, try it
Good tip!

Thanks! I am happy to hear you found my video helpful. I love using my Flowbee too and have been using it forever.
You give me so much more inspiration than others I have watched with your examples! Are the instructions clear on which attachment To use? Thank you.

I have fine hair. Would the headband method work for my hair type?

When your spacers were new, how did you get the foot removed from the spacer that was attached?
You press on it lightly just like you would to remove any spacer.
I would like to know where you got your micro fiber headband.
I got it at Daiso.
Hi was wondering if you have any tricks on how to achieve a hair cut like the actor Charlie Sheen
Thank you

Thank you do you have video with anything similar to that and that style
Thank you for answering

Thank you very much anyway my name is Henry Farrow I live outside of Seattle Washington USA
Your welcome Henry!
how well does it work on thick Asian hair?
It works good.
Can The Flowbee be used to create a new haircut for Women and Girls?
Yes
I recommend you have someone use The Flowbee on your head, versus doing it yourself.
I usually don’t like other people touching my hair that’s why I use the Flowbee on myself to get the results I want but I am very curious to hear your reasoning behind why I should have someone else use the Flowbee on me.
Because it’s a lot more enjoyable!!!
😂Depends on who’s enjoying! I’d probably be a nervous wreck if someone else cut my hair.
