- The Garmin Vivoactive is back. The Vivoactive 5 sees Garmin update its smartwatch and sports watch mash-up with an AMOLED display, while promising improved GPS performance and adding in some training features we've seen crop on other new Garmin watches.
Testers Mike and Nick have been put in some running time with the new Vivoactive 5 to find out what's changed from the Vivoactive 4 and see whether this could be a good, affordable Garmin watch to track your runs with.

I had a garmin solar tactical watch and I could pre set how many miles I wanted to run, I just got the vivoactive 5 and can't seem to find this setting
Ridiculous to remove altimeter. How can take a major step backwards with a fitness watch and increase the price. Fail.
Love my Garmin Vivoactive 5…Great for the active person.
But it doesn’t have barometer, will it affect anything?
@@brucelin5842 I just run, so I really don't to know the air pressure. I just run at 902 feet above sea level. I'm from michigan. Hope this helps.

this one or garmin 255s..what's the difference biside the amoled display and the 4gb memory

The 255 has an altimeter/barometer for measuring elevation. That's a big one for me.

Looking to buy my first fitness watch, does it matter that I’m an Apple user but want a garmin ? What is the best gps watch at around £200-£400 budget please ?
As a rule Garmin watches are sport watches first which some people prefer The limitation for Apple users is no messages reply and no ability to answer calls on your watch . Notifications work ok but all they do is notify ... Limited interactivity with what the notification content is. But for the length of battery time which can extend to a week or more I find it a more useful trade-off 🙏

Why is garmin putting amoled displays on all their watches.....all the watches are starting to blend together and become pointless...
I wouldn't be surprised if the instinct gets a amoled display next....

I BOUGHT THIS WATCH BECAUSE MY VIVVO ACTIV HR BLUETOOTH DOES NOT WORK. ANYMORE AND CANNOT BE FIXED.THIS VERSION ACTIV 5 IS A LOUSY CHEAP UNIT .COMPARED TO THE HR .I AM GIVING IT BACK. ONLY PRETENTIOUS AND POOR OVERALL QUALITY CONSISTENCY
Why? Is the hr not accurate?
