Agreed. It's not light or easy reading, but it is very much an attack on freedom. Lots of folks are hitting the highlights, and those _are_ big issues, but the minute details are just as heinous and cruel.

Like everything else in Project 2025, it's designed to benefit the rich. Imagine what will happen to small farmers after a bad year with no assets to fall back on. They will go bankrupt, and thousands of their farms will be bought by huge agribusiness corporations. Once they've established a near monopoly, we'll be forced to pay their inflated prices for food, or starve.
The issue is these small farmers vote R all the time. Jim Jordan has done NOTHING for farmers in his state, but they keep electing him.

Another aspect of this horrible Project 2025 that is not getting enough press. It is difficult for one person to digest all that it contains so good job pulling out a critical point and making this video. We must take Project 2025 to heart and not discount it as an anomaly. Another factor will be the rounding up of illegal migrants, many of whom work on large farms for lower wages. This would drive the cost of goods up significantly.

I'm a trucker. Have been for 35+ yrs and haul produce.
I go right out in the fields to load and sit in my a/c controlled truck and watch these men and women work their asses off first hand!
We NEED these migrant workers because of the exact reason the other poster said.
That head of lettuce would go from $1.95 to over $10 after all the costs are factored in.
Right now, I make $2.50 per mile, which isn't much to haul fresh foods and that is about average. You see what produce costs now. It would be way more without those workers. No bullshit!

As someone from a rural agricultural community (that provides food to people all over our country) we really need to also think about the policy to deport immigrants in mass in a short period of time as proposed in P2025 and by Trump. Our agro-economy depends on immigrants. We will literally have food rotting in the fields without them (we got a small taste of this already under Trump's "Zero Tolerance" policy when immigrants stopped showing up to work for fear of deportation. If Americans believe food prices are high now, they will have a huge surprise in store....when food rots in the fields, prices will skyrocket, farmers will go bankrupt, and with tariffs proposed by P2025 on imports, imported food will also be out of reach.

Yes, we do have an obligation to be informed. I've read that when a person is uninformed, it is better to not vote. I also know that one way to be informed is to read a party's platform. The Democrats have a platform; the GOP doesn't. So this is easy: vote Blue.
And Page 584 says if you WANT to be sexually discriminated against, maybe lose your promotion, your pay or your job, and have NO recourse then Make sure to vote for the MAGA republicans.

I grew up in a farm family in rural Illinois. What I know about from personal experience is that farmers are the biggest welfare recipients in the country. The amount of subsidies that are available to farmers are absurd. No other sectors of the economy are subsidized to this extent, with the possible exception of the oil sector. As a progressive, I was appalled by the number of Trump signs on farms throughout rural areas. What’s even worse than the subsidies that these people get is the fact that most of them work only 5 months out of the year and take their government welfare payments and their $200,000 Winnebagos to Florida, Texas and Arizona and vacation at taxpayers’ expense.

That might be true for you in the midwest, but ranching in Aridzona means working every day of the year, just keeping our water and forage resources sufficient to keep our animals productive, and alive. Trumpian economics will kill off all family scale farming and ranching resulting in high cost food of low nutritional value and loaded with chemicals and drugs! Trumpy only serves the interests of the corporate state, and the super rich. Worried about some drought relief money going to a few destitute farmers and ranchers? Try mass starvation, no food in the grocery stores, and hungry people rioting in the streets!
The subsidies are necessary to keep family Farms afloat. There are years that they only lose money because of a crop failure, or floods. Unlike corporate farms, they don't have the resources to stay afloat in those years. And when farmers feel pressured to sell the family land to a corporation because it's not financially feasible to remain a family farmer anymore, that's bad for everybody in the country.
And most of them are not using subsidy dollars to buy Winnebagos. Please don't promote "Welfare Queen" exaggerations by extrapolating what might have happened with one or two farmers that you know personally onto the entire population of farmers, the way Reagan extrapolated the criminal activities of one woman from Chicago onto an entire population of people in poverty
If mom and pop businesses can’t make a profit, should the government subsidize them as well? Welfare is welfare whether it is in the city or on the farm. As a taxpayer, I have no obligation to make sure you can run a non profitable business because “ you feed America “. We already have overproduction now, don’t we?

And they don't care if individual family farmers end up running out of money and selling their land to corporations to create more mega farms and monopolies, because that means that corporation can make even more money. So they are actively involved in tricking regular people in farming regions into voting against their best interests, and hiding things like this aspect of the project from voters.
I am a city dweller but when my family came to the US from Eastern Europe they all farmed. I believe that the family farm is the backbone of America. We must promote small and family farms. No to Project 2025.
Thank you for posting, the word on this and the rest of it needs to reach every undecided and non-registered voter. We fix this by stacking the House, Senate, and the Presidency with Democrats who will commit to expanding the Supreme Court and undoing the damage of the last administration.
Someone needs to make a list of topic covered, with page number(s), to go directly to in this 900 page Project 2025 (it can be found on line) ie: new laws for farmers/ Schedule F/ the banning of certain thing, ect. If this is done, I think a lot more Americans will look it up.
Make an effort to shop local farmers and farmer markets. We need to support them.

Farmers got decimated and became the biggest welfare recipients under Trump because of his tarrifs, which also hurt small manufacturing.

@@VincentDavito -- Tell us, how did American soybean, hog, dairy, and wheat farmers do when Trump's steel tariff caused China to retaliate by no longer buying stuff from our farmers?
Please don't pretend you have already forgotten how taxpayer money was needed for the federal government to bail out all of those farms so they didn't go under?
So in the long run, the tariffs didn't protect American jobs or businesses. They were paid by Americans, and then the money generated from those increased prices -- and then some -- had to be used to keep the farmers from losing their homes and businesses. $1.2 billion.
The man is not fiscally responsible, and not looking out for the American farmer. He and his advisors are not thinking five steps ahead in the game of chess that happens globally when a rash decision is made.
💙 I would like to suggest watching Roots so Deep! I see a few comments in regards to the government subsidizing farmers. Most of that goes to the large corporate owned farms, not really helping the mom and pop family owned farms. Greed is a powerful enemy.
I refused to subsidize my place or grow what they were asking me, I'm by far not a big farm, I own 375 acres but I have no need of anyone telling me how to farm seeing I have been doing it over 40 years.

I have friends up in farm country in Illinois. They had been sticking with the Republican party but I haven't talked to him in 6 months. Maybe I'll give my buddy a call
