I have the exact same car and my auxiliary water pump sits directly in front of the expansion tank... This isn't the auxiliary water pump that he's replacing. It might be the main water pump.. but it's definitely not the secondary water pump.

What size was the bolts to the filter on the bottom

There are two sizes for the water pump bolts the bigger one is M8 ,the smaller one is M6
