Bhai the seller that you have mentioned, sells HMT watches at a premium rate in my opinion. These are having after market/repainted dial. You can get similar watches at much lower price point (of course no warranty guarantee) Alternatively some sellers sell NOS- new old stock, these are original watches. After lot of initial mistakes I have realised, for HMT you need to find a trusted dealer who can provide you genuine watches at reasonable prices.
I fully agree, I have been trying to find a kohinoor through one of the watch maker who made their name in Hyderabad as HMT dealer in those golden years - unfortunately did not get any till dane. So thought of at least trying n option which is easily accessible and then sharing my experience transparently so that others are made aware of pros and cons.

If you want kohinoor in old model. Needs servicing for sure the watch is 100% genuine everything about the watch is 100% original its just that its old and was not taken care properly. Works fine needs servicing which will cost around 350 and new straps . Im from hyderabad and can get it for you for as low as 1000 . Im not a reseller just happen to have 2 in spare
Bro movement is restored. Jhalak ke movement me bilkul bhi scractches nhi hai par kohinoor ka movement purana lag rha hai. Movement ko restore kar ke becha gya hai
I went to a local small shop for the first time here in Bangalore today to change 6 watch batteries and left my wall clock for repair. Out of curiosity I asked if he had any mechanical watches. He said he got a few old HMT and Allwyn but couldn't show cause he doesn't remember where he kept them. Hopefully he'll show me some good ones when I go to collect my wall clock. 😂 And since I live in Whitefield area, HMT centre is really far away. I should visit them soon. And I highly recommend old small watch and repair stores. You never know when you might hit a jackpot.

Its very hard to know if its Aftermarket or fully original as I have not found online forums to be very helpful either but I set a small budget and decided to order a Kohinoor to see how it goes. Will share details once I have it but I wanted an HMT kohinoor and with how difficult it is to find reliable sources I decided to take a risk and see how it goes.
I checked a lot of sellers but getting good quality mechanical HMT ends up in 4k price bracket. That why I decided to buy the quartz ones instead from official website at around 2k. In this way I can have 2 watches for 4k and can enjoy the HMT design with added advantage of low maintainance of quartz. Yes the mechanicals will be always the best from enthusiast perspective but seeing the current scenario I think the quartz models make more sense. I currently have my eyes on the Tareeq quartz and Kohinoor quartz.
I bought hmt Kohinoor maroon from Vimal Sharma a month ago so far watch is running good Pretty accurate and there’s loom on the watch also but not so good.
Vimal Ji's watches are to satisfy your craving for hmt mechanical while starting your collection oh hmts. But when you compare the case and dial quality of watches from Gautam Haryani or Divine Watch House with Vimal Ji's watches, you can make out the justification of the price difference. So order as per your priorities.

You can buy from Divine watch - they will charge you around 3800 but the dial quality is top notch. You can Buy from My Gautam Haryani and you will get some unique dials which no one else can give. Price will be 2500 - 4000 depending on dial finish. Please remember that dials with SWISS lume ink will be costly as imported lume inks are very expensive. But they are very reliable and you do not need to worry about durability of the movement. If you manage to get a original HMT mechanical watch - its great value for money. I have a HMT Jhalak and HMT Virat - both are great in terms of accuracy with original HMT handwind movement. Not talking about the automatic HMTs though.

HMT handwind watches are small in size and you need to get used to wear smaller sized watch first - it takes few weeks and then you will love it.

While I agree, but haven't seen any other option which is cheaper. HMT mechanical handwind watches price is also hiked in HMT website and its now around 10k
Kindly share leads if you have come across any kohinoor at lesser price, so many people keep asking me almost daily.

Its a HMT Mod, dial is customised and the seller has disclosed that honestly. They are claiming that the movement is original hmt, but refurbished
As a watch collector i just stay away from HMT. They are alive just on nostalgia. No intrinsic value.
If you manage to get a original HMT mechanical watch - its great value for money. I have a HMT Jhalak and HMT Virat - both are great in terms of accuracy with original HMT handwind movement. Not talking about the automatic HMTs though.

That's not true. Opinion. If anything the reason to stay away from buying them is if you are unexperienced.
I'm from the US, I have no nostalgia reason, i have over 10 of them. New, vintage and of course, Few frankens from my first uninformed purchases.
