Thank you for always telling the truth. Often times people are afraid to give detaled truth because they are scared of competition. Nowadays its so easy to tell if someone is lying of not. You just look up a bunch of different people talking about the same subject and from my research, you are one of the most truthful people on the net.
@@Destinymary I'm almost finished with the last part of the specialization course and got a job as a JR UX Specialist when I was still half way the UX Immersion. Keep in mind I have no design background, I was coming from Customer Service, and Real Estate. With that being said I think it is definitely worth it, but it is what you put into it and being proactive.

May I know what do you struggle most in the CF Program? Mike! Yo I'm just now seeing this and I realize I'm in phase 3. Making good money and starting my brand. I'm in IT professionally. Self taught as a designer. It's what I love . Thanks for the video👍🏽
@@tutscafe1625 it’s tough but let me say this. It became easier when my Software engineer job became very repeatable and predictable. This allowed me to use the extra time to skill up. But there’s a caveat, if your job gets that repeatable.. chances are that job is at risk. So you have to be ready to move. These days working from home expands more hours to skill up. I highly recommend finding an IT job that will allow that. This freed me up as well. Best of luck!
I cant even put it into words how much you have impacted my life in such a positive way, since 2016. I am currently in between middle-finger phase and the next phase, and not sure what to do, where to start or how to start. I'm currently a UX/UI designer at one of the top banks in South Africa and need to start making moves or changes in my life before I become too stagnant.
Great video, thank you Mike. The path that you model reminds me of "The millionaire fastlane", after a few years in customer service (coming out of highschool), I'm now back to phase 1 where I need to develop high income skills that could likely help me start businesses and/or freelance. Digital content creation (videos) and UX design both seem like very big opportunities for me. They seem like the most foundational ones since they both focus on creating products. From there knowing how to market those products is also key.
Interesting perspective Mike. I noticed that I my career went from 1st to 2th and 4th and failed (I couldn't scale the company and I didn't have necessary soft skills like reading people, being confident and so on ). After that I moved to 3th-ish (full time freelancing) solely but after a year I realized that my earnings are just laying there doing nothing - so i jumped to 5th level (investing in stocks). I believe the level of patience and self-awareness you'll get on 5th level make you better entrepreneur (4th level) and this is my personal goal.
Thanks Mike, I love you man. I'm a Computer Science(BSc) 2nd year undergraduate student (23 yrs/old), by the time.i graduate I'll be 24/25, starting later than most gives me anxiety. computer science is so vast, so many different routes to get into, I am starting to get interested in ui/ux design. Peace, from London UK
Great video. I'd recommend another Napoleon Hill book, How to Raise your own Salary, which is actually the one they used as the basis for their more well known Think & Grow Rich. It's the actual raw and uncut interviews Hill had with Andrew Carnegie. A great read with timeless principles to motivation, organisation, self discipline, learning from failure and much, much more can't recommend it enough.
Honestly.... everything he's talking about in this video in terms of all the "phases"... can be... or should be... applied to any career path that you take.
Thanks for the advice! I'm an IxD student right now and I like the way you road mapped what a successful lifestyle for a UI/UX designer can look like. This is excellent advice, only thing I wanted to mention is that though Tai Lopez's ad's are smart, he is also very annoying.
Great video!! Thanks for all your videos, I haven’t watched in awhile, but your videos definitely helped me a lot when I was looking for a product design jobs, etc. VERY inspiring, as always!
Mike I’m in school currently at Santa Monica city college, getting my bachelors in interaction design. However, I want to build my company with the tools I’ve learned from school and you. But you are saying wait until I have landed the job and I am saying why wait. Once someone has a grasp on what they are doing wouldn’t it be more beneficial for that person for instance to getting going now. Thus build the company’s reputation , word of mouth spreads and could be making thousands of dollars extra on top of the salary from the job once landed. Instead of vice versa! In your opinion what cons are there in your eyes taking this specific route??
I'm interested in becoming a ux designer, however I have barely an associates degree in liberal arts and no graphic design experience or education. Should I go back to school and get a ba or should I just take some graphic designing classes so I can get more experience?
This is a very open-ended question. The simple answer = depends. What do you want to do and where are you at? Ask yourself where you see yourself in 5 years and that will help. Some jobs require degrees, some don't. Education is important to me so I wanted a bachelor degree. If you are very entrepreneurial, then perhaps you can go that route. Work on your portfolio, learn learn learn and make the best decision that is right for you.
I really enjoy your content, some great advice you got and I am glad you are (kind of ) back!! It would be even more awesome if you could put these vids as audio on itunes, or as a podcast? Just a humble request, not telling you what to do 😄😄😄
Hey Mike, it's great seeing you on a path for a greater cause especially for sharing your knowledge and being a great tutor for everyone who is on the same career path. I've just recently discovered your channel about less than a month ago and have been greatly benefiting from it. So happen in regards to this video topic i thought it would be the perfect moment for me to post for a video request, or more like a need for an advice. So here it is, any advice on the people/community that starts off late to become a Ui/Ux designer? What are your thoughts on a journey for an average person in general that has reach their early or late 30's and lets say had a career midlife crisis and all of a sudden discovered that this career path (as mentioned in your video topic) to be their true calling. Is it a little too late? And what are the extra push/steps needed to be in the league for the least amount of time. I hope i am not being selfish here hoping for my own gain, but i believe there are also alot of people out there suffering and feeling lost/empty for the same reason as i am and are very discourage to embark on a 'non-comfort second chance zone' due to their age. Many thanks and gratefulness from me and an early behalf from my future community if this all works well. Thanks Mike.
Mike, how did you learn your skills for UX/UI design? what websites, tutorials, classes did you take to get started and take you where you are right now?
You learn as you go. UI Design is the skill of designing interfaces. UX is the skill of understanding the process, methods of designing from a user-centered perspective. You can learn this from my course material.

I like the suggestions of steps 1-4, but the part about investing your money to make it work for you is not something that you should wait for. comfortably
Interesting, but don't quite agree with the last step. Ideally one should save and invest at all stages of their income. Even a little bit every month adds up quite a lot.
