    My daughter bought a prime after riding in my previous model 2004 Prius. Now I own a 2013 Prius II & my daughter owns a 2021 Prius Prime. We are a Toyota loving family!

    Love my Prius prime and the ev mode gets me a solid 55km with proper regen and driving in the summer. And the winter I get 43km so 0 complaints! Best hybrid EV system out there.

    I just drove my Tesla from Ohio to North Carolina and then to Tennessee and back, all on 448 kWh of energy (or the equivalent energy in 13.29 gallons of gas). Cost me $76.76 to drive the whole 1630 miles. As much as I love the Prius Prime, I would love to see a Prius BEV!

    • @tayinternational
      @tayinternational 5 лет назад +2

      from my trip data that same distance would still be a lil cheaper in the prius prime if you only charged once before you started the trip. if you switch from ev only to hv as soon as you get on the highway you can easily get 62mpg on the highway . I will probably get a Tesla in the future because of the autopilot and full self driving but the primes value is hard to beat and its not communicated well by Toyota .

    • @Curryolla
      @Curryolla 5 лет назад +1

      @@tayinternational I don't doubt that! The Prime is considered more efficient than the Model 3 in mpge. That said, if Toyota were to make a super efficient EV Prius, I'd be all over that. Even if it's slow. I shouldn't compare the the Model 3 to the Prime. That would be like comparing a BMW M3 to a Corolla!

    • @tayinternational
      @tayinternational 5 лет назад +2

      @@Curryolla whats realy crazy is that the prime is cheaper than the reg prius after fed and state incentives and without charging it still gets better mpg than the reg prius. I'm certain Toyota is going to have a full EV very soon , it won't be as "cool " as a tesla but if they can keep the price under 30k that could be a game changer.

      Gee, I just bought my daughter a ticket from Austin to Las Vegas for $75 and that takes 3 hours. I do have an EV though for 95% of my driving and if I have to go on a road trip I can simply rent a gas burner. Fortunately, my EV gives me about 300 miles per charge, so have to charge once a week.

    • @absolutium
      @absolutium Год назад

      @@Curryolla You need to realize that is a one case scenario for the political incentives.. real world where gas has a reasonable price and Electric are not hyper subsidized.. that doesn't happen.. Efficiency is being disguised against your own interests.

      @@MylesV yes that's the unfortunate truth about the hydrogen fueling infrastructure, especially in the US, who has been dragging their feet. It's the main thing holding this technology back. Cant believe in the delivery age you guys are missing out on selling your Proace city cargo van here. All those suvs, surly one you can switch out for the cargo van. And if you made it AWD I'm thinking it would be a hit because when it comes to delivery its in all weather conditions all the time.

    Where are these free charging stations? I only see charging stations behind expensive parking lot pay walls.
    Except for Tesla the charging network of other EVs is disappointing.
    NYC has set up charging stations but they are for authorized city vehicles only.

    • @tayinternational

      Try Whole foods , or download the plugshare app and filter out the for only free chargers. There are alot more than you would think , and since most are only level 2 most Teslas will not go out of there way to charge there unless you are in California where it sounds like they are always at chargers.

    • @bobfoss9446

      In places like China where they subsidize EV drivers, the swap shops change out batteries in under 5 minutes, but here in Las Vegas, we have many free chargers (operated by the State) plus some places like McDonald's, IKEA, and government offices provide free charging. I prefer the convenience of just charging n my garage, but my smart neighbors pay nothing as they use the sun with their solar panels in their houses.
