I decided to document Southside and Lex lugers stories together. Their come up producing was very similar. This also gives a insight to how lex luger and Southside formed 808 mafia with waka flocka.

@@bigk1555 a beat pluggz vid would be harddd
@@bigk1555 yuh Stoopidxool, Mexikodro, PoloboyShawty, Corey Lingo, A$att, BeatPluggTwo
Wheezy
I respect metro boomin
But Lex paved the way for guys like him.
Noooo! Zaytoven!
@@raydavis2793 Zay is a way different style of beats than these guys it’s still hard. But they make literal hits. You can’t stop bouncing your head to metro south side or Tm or lex
Shawty Redd???
True.
@@enzigenes No. Redd paved the way for Luger perhaps and Luger paved the way for Metro. Luger and 9th Wonder were the first ones to make FL Studio not look like a joke.
Oooh damn this is a legit documentary or biography idk man but this is so cool
Chopsquad DJ next 🔥
Real GOATs
pirating fl studio is one thing, but stealing a laptop with a licensed version is a whole different thing ...
I'm surprised no one has taken legal action. I Guess some are just lucky.
So True....
@Social Anatomy I mean that's hard af
@Social Anatomy That's theft bruh! What do you mean so what? Stealing laptops with people's personal information is no big deal?
i always felt like music software was never readily available n accesable to people outside the music industry n it never changed tbh no rapper or producer out now or in the past decade would ever be known if they didnt steal laptops or pirate fl studio at some point in their career
Every producer should have a Lex Luger clap in there sound banks
You mean that one snare that smacks the shit out of your ears?
What bank.
@@808adrian He meant the sound selection.
Yep💯🔥
I have a lex luger pack. He has a free one out
0:24 So if Southside’s uncle was a law abiding citizen, there would be no Southside lol
Pretty much 😂😂
He is da real MVP! No Laptop and Software No SOUTHSIDE!
That’s why it’s called TRAP MUSIC
Remember that famous old quote “I prayed for a bike but I know that’s not how god works, so I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness” !!
He probably would've found a way regardless though. It was just fortunate that his uncle was a thief so it was very easy for him compared to others who has to work their asses off to get a decent computer even.
Damn. Southside looks exactly the same 10 years ago except for the face tats
Lmao he does
So does lex
Never forget the days when everyone had lex sounds and nobody knew how to make beats cuz they couldn’t just watch RUclips videos showing them everything
Still got them sounds💪
Now everyone is downloading Zaytoven drum sounds and using a bunch of pre-made loops. Hopefully things can change back to those days again
thats how u actually LEARNED to make beats lol
@@grinderthashiner8265 yeah i never really dug the zaytoven sound
@@Jaylamah529 Me neither. I did a few years ago. But now? Hell no. It isn't bad it's just overdone and it's getting a little corny.
Lex is the goat man, dude a legend, trap innnovator, give him his flowers, started the new sound and changed the game forever with BMF
Lex isn’t the innovator he’s the creator
The Godfather of everything we hear today
Lex influence is in pop, kpop, r&b of course hiphop/rap but country too. everything today is literally stemming from lex
🤣😭 neither one of you idiot know Shit. Lex ain’t start Shit. Shawty Redd is the god father of this Shit
@@kingofthanorth Lex is as well. His sounds are used everywhere as well as Redd. I never understood why people put one man down to build another one up. Both men helped pioneer this shit!
@@grinderthashiner8265 Shawty Redd was a platinum producer in 99 what was lex doing in 99 . Everybody was using shawty sounds and biting his style. You still hear the sounds in today’s music . I hear that bottom of the map sound in so many bests today it’s crazy. Niggas drums wasn’t hittin hard as his
@@kingofthanorth I hear Lex's 808s in a lot of beats today as well. I believe he also started distorted 808s. Ace Hood Hustle Hard is probably the first song I have heard that had distorted 808s. Redd came before him, but they're both influential in their own right.
nice workk. luger is almost forgotten love to see him being documented
Never!! And thanks for the support. been amazing making these
Lex and south bac cool again, they have a new song in the new doe boy album
@@since67wavy27 oh im so glad! i listened but i couldn’t tell
i guess some poor music producer just found out who took his laptop LOL
Lmao
That guy wasn't going to do shit with that laptop with FL haha
BeatPluggz next? (mexikodro, stoopidxool, poloboy shawty, etc...)
Now I fw them heavyyyy.. they definitely got next💪🏾.
@Lil Curt mb lemme edit comment
they still underground producer
@Lil Curt surreal gang
Freebase Reese they already blew up in like 2015-16
These two are responsible for the sound of rap beats that we hear everywhere today. Any producer knows to pay homage
These two, Zaytoven and Drumma boy.
@King Beezle 410 could never forget him either!
@Tee Beats Uhh, here we go with someone mentioning these 2. We're talking about the MODERN trap sound. Memphis rap is just the parent genre of trap music. It heavily influenced it but isn't the exact same. Redd, Lex, Zay, and Drumma Boy helped create that. Especially Zay these days. Every Youngboy instrumental has a heavy Zaytoven influence
@@grinderthashiner8265 Youngboy beats is a mixture of that lousiana sound with some sounding like zaytoven
@@jamesjr2550 Of course. My point was everyone is suddenly running off with Zay's style. For the past 5 years they have. Past 7 years actually. Ever since Migos dropped Versace. O.T Genasis 'Cut It' is a whole rip off of Zaytoven's style. Most beats I hear nowadays has Zaytoven's 808s and rim shots in it. Snare drums too. I just used Youngboy as example because I hear a lot of his drums in there.
Lex Luger “save me” beat he made for chief Keef legendary
Yea he's good with sampling too. That one sampled Katy Perry, and also MellowHigh - Timbs sampled a James Bond movie intro
ayoo i forgot about that song i just got 2 12s installed lol thanks bro
IMMA BEAT EM LIKE HIS FATHER (aye)
@ryönä rane I DONT LIKE NOFUCKIN PRADA (aye)
@@KiidBow put a knife up on my Tec ,
Southside n em would prolly shed a tear when they see this
That intro hits hard right 💔
Shit just made me she’d a tear. , and I barely cry

Lex Luger will always be my favorite producer he paved the way for alot of these producers and doesn't get enough credit.
Same 😢❤
I need Mannie Fresh next. One of the greatest & most legendary producers to ever come out of the South.
“How to make lex luger type beat” back in 2013
True lol
people don't get Drill Music wouldn't exist without these two
Explain
@@MeMe-df7lr u got ears or na lol
@New Whips straight up.Kids nowadays thing that Drill is just that that syncopation UK type Beat.
Bruh no explanation needed
Definitely this two were a significant influence.
Lex made the 808 sound monumental. Sizzle and everybody copied him.
so he was worried about mafia in the name but out here doing drugs n shit. peoples ethics be so backwards. glad to see him trying to come back tho
Yeah. Doesn't make sense.
Watch the lex Luger interview with djsmallz. Bro was addicted to lean, pills, & weed which made him go to a mental institution.
When you hear fast hi hats and snare rolls on any sort of beat thank this man Lex Luger for that
You ain’t never heard any three 6 mafia beats and it shows lol
@@josepantoja2132 lol I definitely have especially all they're underground horror movie sample shit they were doing in the beginning. Those type of rolls were not used the same way Lex Luger was doin it. Comin from a drummer trust me they're not the same bro
You must’ve not heard of Shawty Redd or Drumma Boy
@@josepantoja2132 Lex's were way faster. Listen to Hard In Da Paint or better yet, MC Hammer with Rick Ross. His snare rolls and hat rolls sounded like a machine gun. Three Six and Shawty Redd had smoother rolls.
@@alexbrufladt171 You're a drummer?
Southside was probably the first producer that inspired me to make beats. I used to fw Lex Lugar beats too. These two guys should definitely colab on a project or album again. They made history together 💯
Lex Luger is the Master of Snares!
🔥🥁🔥
Legends, 808 mafia inspired me to make beats
This gave me goose bumps I depended on Lex music for a long time I was sad seeing him go out sad
If my homeboy puts me on. I can’t let him get lost on drugs, No matter what.
Your so underrated bro its stupid
Haha best comment. Thanks fam
Lex luger is the reason I started making beats, what happened to him is sad

When these guys hit the scene I was about 22, you don't realize something new is boring born and how cool/significant it is until you look back. Well done on the video!
These guys are really pioneers of modern Trap music production. I remember their Flockavelli episodes in the early 2010's where they would bang beats all the time. We always forget these guys, but they're legends in my book
the stolen laptop kit.. makes sense now lol

Rumor Has It That @Luger Flopped Because Unlike His Buddies, He Never Sold Out 🤷♂️
poor lex, those drugs chased him

Awesome vid bro
Lex changed the game
His sound was too raw
This video hard but DY Krazy is definitely a notable member of 808 mafia too 😭 He got tracks with tons of top artists in the industry. Dope video regardless💯🔥
Do one on DP Beats🔥🔥
Anybody/ any genres that use heavy 808s wouldn't exist without these two
Bro lex and south side were playing throughout my entire 4 years of high school from blaring a lex track in the hallways to bumpin it In the whip with the subs... that shit slapped. Legends bro

Man was bumping lex Luger beats over here in the uk from 2008 the old beat instrumental packs from dat piff 🔥🔥
Lex luger started something great and then tm88 and Southside turned into the sh&t we have today.
Love the video. One thing I’d add, DY is a more popular member of 808 Mafia than Tre Pounds, Tarentino and Fuse are.
Hip hop scene in VA is not small in any way. The industry isnt here but the artist and producers engineers and even directors are in abundance.
Not really hyped about them working together again just glad they finally worked shit out n shoutout to Lex for fighting thru the drugs
would love something on slim Dunkin

leave the drugs alone
Every producer in 808 Mafia is/was a star before their prime
yal forgot about Riverdale shawty who founded Southside and brong him to wooh waka and bricksquad lool it up!!!! Riverdale shawty made Oh lets do it!! they made that beat in the back ground.. 808 Mafia is the reason all other beat styles exists today.
No hip hop in general is the reason all other beat styles exist today. 808 is wack ASF don't try to make them sound better than they actually are. 😂
These are legit two of the goats of trap today, honestly everyone forgets them when they listen to metro's sound
