Same. Leo and Piper got a lot of POVs throughout the series. (But it was apparent, even before watching this interview, that Leo was one of Rick's favorites, and was a well-established fan-favorite. No complaints.)

He made all the characters so relatable. I am a young middle schooler, and like Nico, I am attracted to my same gender. One of my good friends has ADHD and it just warms my heart to see how in Riordan’s books he doesn’t just dismiss the kids going through these things. They really helped me feel accepted and I just love them.

Nico is my favorite character.im Part of the LBGTQ+ community and when he came out to Jason, I was fighting with tears. Live can be hard for us, but stay strong. Way to go Rick.

I didn't grow up on these books. My mom bought them back in like 2005 and she offered me to read them like a billion times, but I always said no. I was always a creative person; I like singing, song writing, storytelling, but I never had the patience to read an actual novel. So one day I had a friend who said, "oh, read this book!" So I read the book, and I read the next, and the next, and within six months i'd read the entire series, and I thought, "Hey! This is cool!" So then my father went on to amazon and bought me the "Lost Hero" book and I thought, "This one cant be as good as the ones i've previously read". But I read it and it turned out to be better. Then I rad the entire Heroes of Olympus and then I decided to read the percy jackson series, a weird way to start indeed, and then I re-read the heroes of Olympus series, and I feel like these characters have changed me. I am in Rick's target audience because I started reading his books in seventh grade and now I'm in eighth, and I really love his books because they get so in touch with how a person of my age would really feel in those situations and it really connects on a different level that I feel most writers have trouble achieving.

@@skynet7134 I never knew about this (not a big fan of Magnus Chase, only read book 1) I just read those 2 chapters and I loved them. It's nice seeing Percabeth do something other than saving the world, they're now training someone to save the world. Not a big change but hey it's something lol. Although.... I started reading his books when I was 9 or 10 (I cant really remember) when my mum made me read them as she had already finished them and I at first thought 'gah, this is going to be one of those boring books that she reads', now I am 14 and finished reading Blood of Olympus about a month or two ago and I just want to travel back to my 10 year old self and say 'YOU WILL READ THIS AND LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

I know it's a lot but I was so disappointed that we didn't get a Percy chapter
I love how he said that he never really has a closure for all the characters. For all we know Percy and Annabeth might appear in the Magnus Chase books (wouldn't that be amazing) it is a relief to know that the PJ and the HOO books might not be the last appearance of some of this characters. I also grew up with this book and would never have imagined it impacting my imagination and feelings so much. Till this day it is my favourite book even in the tenth grade, and I have read ALOT of books. Percy Jackson will always be a part of my life and if that is the last appearance of the characters from the two series then I will cherish this moment. I just love the connection between Annabeth and Magnus, hinting at a bigger adventure and different worlds colliding. I love how different and yet the same each characters from both series are. Ohh I can't wait for October 2015!!! Another amazing series to start:)
I love his books. its changed my life definitely. I never really read any books because we really weren't told that we had to read books in school. just get one book this week. the next turn it in. but when I read a different series of his. the Kane Chronicles. I got into the whole reading thing. I don't even remember how I found the book. i just think I saw the Red Pyramid and checked it out. i was in fifth grade and that same day the teacher said we could take are books home. what intrigued me to read the book was well the warning. and I liked the book. I told my friend to read it also. I got the second book and read it. but then the end of the year came and I couldn't read the third book. I was in so much suspense cause you know rick likes to torture with cliff hangers. the next school year I had to go to a different school. and I kept hopeing that the third book was in there library. at first i couldn't find it so I read the land of stories series and other books. they had AR which I was new to since I didn't have it at my other school. in a matter of weeks I had more points than anybody in my whole grade. Because of my love for reading now. then one day I saw the book. the Red Pyramid again. and I remembered the book. I re read the book series and started and finished the third book. I was so happy about how it turned out I wanted to read more of his books. I looked and found a different series by him and it was the Heroes Of Olympus Series. I read The Lost Hero and was immediately hooked. I read all the way until the last book. I didn't even read the Percy Jackson Series yet. then I found that series. I put the HoO series on hold and read that series and finished it within that year. then the end of the year came and I got a medal for having most AR points in my grade and a trophy for having most points in the whole school. I didn't get to finish the PJO series or the HoO series. I had to go to the high school cause now I would be in 6 grade. as soon as I got there and in the lyrbrary I re read the PJO series. and finished the Blood Of Olympus. his books gave me imagination and wonder. I look at the world differently and can imagine things in my head. I know about the gods. there names and what there the god of. i read the magnus chase series which I loved also. still waiting to get the third book. I read the Apollo series which I am also waiting for the third book. I read Greek Gods and Greek heroes. I loved every single book. it made a big impact on me. without those books I wouldn't have my love for reading. without those books I wouldn't have the imagination to create or think things. without it i wouldn't have a lot of things. I even strive to be a author now. to create my own worlds. make my own plot twists and cliff hangers. because of him. because I want to impact a reader just like his books impacted me. Rick Riordan has been my Role Model for writing ever since. Because I wish to be at least a quarter of a good author as him. He and his books Inspired me to read and write. if I ever got to meet him in person I would say thank you

I started reading these a long time ago, about 2010. I was never very interested in books. I read a 100 page book in two months. Now i can easily read 400+ pages in a day all because i got so hooked on Percy Jackson i had to get my "next fix." I learned, through Ricks books, to read a whole lot more than i used to, and i admit, i am a little obsessed with the books now. You will never catch me with the same books in my bag this week as i had last week. Unless I'm rereading the Percy Jackson books......(If any of that made any sense.)

Below is what I whant in a future series;
I honestly would like to see a more “adult” book that shows the demigods deal with their trauma, ptsd, issues, depression, anxiety, and triggers. Especially Nico, Leo, and basically all the 7 plus a few. I would also love to see Nico deal with inerhomophobia, and other people’s homophobia. I would love to see Nico open up a bit and all the others be like “wow. Your messed up” and honestly, I would like to see him do that with the characters that hide their feelings, like Will or Leo. I’m problay not gonna get this, but I would like to see it, I know it’s targeted towards kids, but I would love to see this. I would also love to see Jason and Percy’s Bro-latiosship grow cause let’s be honest, there’s somthing going on.

well I am sixteen and I totally think those books can be read by anyone. the characters are just as complex as in any ya or adult book, maybe even a little more. The problems they struggle with are understandable to plenty of people and I am so in love with those books😂❤

Gods, I use to hate history. But after reading the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus and the first two Magnus Chase books I LOVE Greek, Roman, and Norse Gods and Heroes!!! I love their history so much that it scares my dad that I know so much about it because, I HATE other history that he loves and tries to teach me, and I could talk for DAYS about the Greeks, Romans and the Norse Gods.
