Wow, wonderful, thank you. This was fun and I appreciated the fantasy - except for schizophrenia which was never a part of his life. Saw them live three times. The band and concerts were the best rock concert I ever saw, and I saw a lot. All three times Jim put on a wonderful performance. He lasted every concert very coherent, mesmerizing, talking and interacting with the audience. I experienced nothing like what was portrayed in the movie The Doors. Again, thank you for all of your hard work. A side note, I was sitting up front at one of the concerts (behind The Hell's Angels) and while Jim was talking I kept screaming "Sing The Crystal Ship, The Crystal Ship" (my favorite song by them.) He stopped talking, scanned the audience directly in front of him, spotted me and my big still yelling mouth, looked at me with a look of humor and annoyance and said very slowly and distinctly with that beautiful voice, "Sooo what's the average age group here, 10?" That shut me up. But wow, he looked at me and spoke to me. I never forgot that.
Just like time passes so did I. Years later I am still a memory in someone's mind. That too will fade in time. To laugh to cry to mourn to die isn't it all really just being a part of space and time.
When we are younger, let's say under the age of 40, none of us want to grow old, we fear it. But for many people, myself included, we get to a point where we would never want our youth back, because of the naivety (amongst other things) we see when we look back at our youth. @grimble Like I'm doing right now. Anyway, I wouldn't put it past this guy to want to preserve his legend by pretending to be dead, although I'm sure he is.
Jim Morrison has been gone since the 1970's and now he has been a member of the 27 club for a long time and I have been a fan of the Doors for a long time since I was in high school since the 10th grade
It’s so sad because he was so talented and would have gone on to do big and better things. I wish we would have got more performances from him. He’s a huge influence on my music. In a little way he still lives on through music. I wish he could have played live aid.

A few years after Jim faked his own death in Paris in July 1971, he lost weight, cut his hair, grew about four or five inches, changed his name to Chevy Chase and joined the cast of SNL.
That's actually even more gracefully then I would imagine due to abuse. Though he would likely have rehabbed at some point to have survived so could be dead on. But he still looks like a god of rock at any age and I'd love it if he were still here. A beautiful soul never ages.

He never would have lived to 87. He died exactly when he should have considering the massive amounts of drugs and drink he consumed. His "going clean" alluded to in this video should have happened 2 or 3 years earlier to have saved his life. We should be surprised he lived as long as he did.
