  • UNKNOWN ESTONIA - Exploring LAHEMAA NATIONAL PARK, The villages, Peninsula and Kolga Manor
    Part 1 of a 2 part final in our road trip around Estonia! After staying overnight in Laheema National Park we head off to explore the area starting with a visit to the villages of Käsmu and Viinistu then the northern end of the Pärispea peninsula - Purekkari Telkimisala, which is the Northernmost edge on the mainland of Estonia.
    Our next stop inside Lahemaa National Park was Kolga Manor which was the largest manor in Estonia with its 50 thousand hectares of land. Like many grand buildings in this part of the world, Kolga Manor has a very colourful past.
    Upcoming videos!
    Join us next time for the final part of our Estonian road trip! We explore more of Lahemaa National Park including, Viru Bog and finish this month long journey at Jagala waterfall before heading back to where it all began -Tallinn. If you can’t wait that long head over to our instagram tideknottravellers for daily updates on what we’re currently up to and what’s coming up in our future videos!

We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight. We started this RUclips channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts on our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content useful :)

    Wow the beach kind of looks like a few of the beaches here in Cape Town with those boulders 😄 its so absolutely beautiful.
    Flip the drone footgage at the northern end was beautifully paired with the music. The views are so stunning.
    Kolga Manor is so impressive, wow, loved hearing this history! So lovely you got to go inside.
    The outtakes 🤣 that was hilarious 🤣 😆 the struggle is real!

    Very lovely scenery there as always. It was really interesting to hear about the member of Abba's story and that he came back. Kolga Manor was very cool, nice to see buildings like this open to the public.

    • @TideKnotTravellers

      Yeh we thought that was really cool that he came from this tiny place then fled to Sweden for safety and found success with Abba and came back to help out afterwards, fascinating!

    Lovely to see this beautiful place, it reminds me of Hundvaag Norway! So scenic, peaceful & tranquil, love it.
    The boulders are like that in La Digue Seychelles - stunning dotted on the beaches. Interesting to hear ABBA having a connection! Looking forward to seeing the rest next time.... lovely, thank-you & Merry Christmas!

    Sheltering from mosquitoes! Yeah, that's a nasty bite. I think we'd be bundled up with no skin showing--even if it was hot. Really cool to learn about the trademark Estonian boulders. Nice drone footage of the northern edge. Such rugged beauty. New friends here :)

    Wow the mosquitoes there are vicious! I would totally get eaten alive. The beach is so gorgeous and loved seeing all the boulders that are scattered throughout. You guys do an amazing job sharing the history behind all the landmarks... very interesting about the suitcases and the ABBA connection. It would be neat to see how Kolga Manor looks once all the restaurants and hotel go in there.

    Plix is useless imho. Ben's100 or red Diffusil is what you want. Next time you know. :) Also when you have over 50 bites in one knee, (like I had last summer) then you don't really notice them anymore:)

    • @thepanamahat

      50 bites.... ! shi+ if I have more than 3 I go into shock :-)

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  3 года назад +1

      @@TideKnotTravellers the funny thing is that I used to be allergic to all kind of insect bites and stings but after getting stung by so many mosquitoes at once, after that I'm a lot less sensitive.
      Always hates insects, especially the ones who fly and buzz around your ear and are annoying or kinda dangerous. But few years ago started keeping bees. Out of the blue, overnight basically... Anyway.
      Happy Holidays and happy travels:)

    And now, in the way-overdue watch-and-comment category...
    Are Estonian mosquitoes worse than, equal to or better than mosquitoes in the deep South of America? (Or some other area well-known for mosquitoes?)
    And are cucumbers, as you describe them, pickles? Or truly unpickled cucumbers?
    Estonia is such a land defined by its waters. (Wait, that's a contradiction! 🤪) Anyway, you've showcased its lakes, rivers and so much more of how water affects the place. You two might LOVE Wisconsin - it's four times the size of Estonia with 10 times as many lakes, and perhaps might be just as defined by water. It's also rarely above 30 degrees Celsius in the summer, though winters here can be plenty cold & snowy.
    WOW - what a story of escape to Sweden and triumphant return!

    • @TideKnotTravellers
      @TideKnotTravellers  3 года назад +1

      All I know is we’ve been to quite a few places in the US and never been bitten this badly!
      Had to double check the cucumber 🥒 yes it’s simply an unpickled pickle or ‘gherkin’ as we would call a pickled cucumber here😄
      Wisconsin sounds great😃

    • @SorgiStories
      @SorgiStories 3 года назад

      @@TideKnotTravellers Thanks! It's much-less mosquito-ridden than parts of the very humid American southeast. They joke it's mosquitoes as big as your head. (Not really, but you get the point.) It's a breeding ground down there.
