I'm glad i picked up a synthesizer at CommandFest for my deck as i have a feeling this card might spike in the coming weeks for its use in multiple formats
Simulacrum synthetizer is such a cool card, it makes me wish wizard had put it in a good product instead of in an extra rare sheet so it didn't cost, 40€ each
@@Naatti8558I bought 1 off a guy at prerelease and thought 'I'll see if somebody opens another one before buying them off market' and boom overnight 40 euro
Affinity is one of my favourite mechanics, i love pauper affinity personally because its just pure value. Also it Was awesome meeting you at commandfest, happy gaming!😆
I enjoyed this despite not really being an Affinity or Legacy person. As such, I have to wonder something: there even any cards you could have reasonably had in sideboard for the Cloudpost pseudo-Lands deck at the end? The only thing that come to mind off the top of my head are like Mirrorshell Crab('s activated ability) or Shadow of Doubt, those just seem like amusing griefer cards, especially when you can just use actual Stifle (which I barely just remembered is legal in Legacy even if Mirrorshell Crab's activated ability is harder to counter weirdly), which still seems dubious.
As a frequent consumer of Legacy content on the internet I'd like to just say, Post as an archetype is pretty rare nowadays and is also historically pretty good at beating on blue decks. The best plan for 8-cast in that matchup is to just do the maindeck plan of beat hard and fast before they can establish their better endgame. While I think Post is generally very slightly favored in this matchup dedicating sideboard slots to it wouldn't make a ton of sense since you're mostly hoping to go under them, which is something this version of affinity is geared towards pretty heavily in general.
@@katiestowe8252 I see. Thanks. That makes sense and is mostly what I figured, hence my confusion. I funnily just realized that actual Lands is probably worse against mono-Blue decks given the myriad ways that mono-Blue has to bounce things, a lot of which are not only viable but already good sideboard cards (here) like Aether Spellbomb. A bit amusing that of the extradimensional spaghetti monsters in this Cloudpost deck, Marit Lage is in theory the least threatening one despite being the biggest since it only ever exists as a token and has no "on cast" Trigger. Meanwhile all the "exile spell" pseudo-counter cards don't seem that playable in Legacy outside of Mindbreak Trap, which seems bad against Post, and I can only see this match getting potentially worse seeing that absurd looking MH3 Emrakul that got spoilered like a month ago. I guess we'll see how badly MH3 (inevitably) screws with the formats in general though given how much MH1 and MH2 did.
@@MusicoftheDamned you're entirely correct abt the lands matchup, turns out crop rotation is really bad against counterspells. Lands in particular is in a really rough spot right now for how it lines up against the meta, turbo depths is maybe in an "ok" spot right now but midrange grindy depths decks have always lost hard to any flavor of Bant control and they're just too slow for Rescaminator/Goblins. Marit Lage might be the least threatening its ever been in the current meta honestly, almost every deck is either too fast for it or has Plowshares/Stifle for massive blowouts. Post in particular tends to have a depths or two just because it's basically a free slot in a deck that wants CropRot and Stage anyways, not because it's actually good in any specific matchup.
@@katiestowe8252 I see. That also makes sense given I imagine that even if Lands had the stupidity that is Veil of Summer in its sideboard, the only _maybe_ solves its issues with Blue (unless Veil itself Forced) and not the other equally daunting issues. Thanks.
29:44 I think spellbomb might be better than soul-guide as it can get emrakaul and marit lage? I guess bouncing emrakaul doesn't' do anything... other titans?
lol yeah, and then the next turn he had a free sojourner's companion which would've gotten him two extra damage off the patchworks edit: oh wait, he points that out lol i was busy searching the comments for someone pointing it out
Day 1 arena release I put 4 showcase foils in my cart for 25$ each and thought I'd wait for them to go down :( I wanted to build this deck in paper lol
the last week has been "I see Simulacrum Synthesiser, I click" on youtube. thats a good artifact
Same.

I'm not sure you did miss lethal at 17:30 - you only had 2 mana, so couldn't have paid 1 for Dismember and 2 for Ward
These boots are made for punting, and that's just what they did!
15:30 They are playing around Pithing Needle coming out of the saga and shutting off Stoneforge Mystic
I'm glad i picked up a synthesizer at CommandFest for my deck as i have a feeling this card might spike in the coming weeks for its use in multiple formats
It did
It's already $40+ lmao
Its 50$+ alreary. Got 1 in my prerelease. It was my most wanted card for my urza chief artificer deck.
That's going to fit really well in that Urza deck. I've got mine for Breya which is going to hopefully make an impact

I'm so sad I didn't buy them when they were 16€

Yes!! I love your game play videos as always!
Thanks again for the great content!
Glad you like them!

This immediately looked like the most busted Big Score card for me, thanks for confirming it.
ah so that's why Synthesiser jumped up to $40
27:28 why not play the shadow spear then play the frogmite for free?
Had a good day yesterday at Commander Night with it, making close to 15 Karnstructs with it all at once to take over the game.
I love sim synth and will force it into every format I can.
This was great fun to watch!
I made a similar deck but want to see what cards might make it better if any
Simulacrum Synthesiser is such a wild card, jesus

I would love too see you play some commander PleasantKenobi
Yay new gameplay video❤
Play it with the new satori, you draw cards in affinity
i bought the last one at my LGS for a commander deck at like 16USD and now its 45??? i am very glad i did!!
27:44 Why did you pay 1 for frogmite instead of paying 1 for Shadowspear which would then make frogmite free? Game 2 against 8-Post

I like it! MORE!
@17:30 You didn't punt. You couldn't dismember the blocker. You had 2 mana and Coat creature has ward 2. You need 3 mana to dismemeber + pay for ward
My buddy opened 2 and was disappointed, until I showed them the price lol
Just from a flavor perspective, shame it doesnt make sad robots.
Quite some punts, but you still won the overall games. At least you noticed some misplayed cards 🙂
After playing entire hand "i cant see any way of playing around stone"
