What turned into a beautiful slow, peaceful jam, quickly turned into a ripper of a track! Awesome track Beau, sounds incredible!
thanks man! I've really been enjoying that kind of contrast in moods lately.
Nothing like a Saosin chug to smack my face. You always manage to utilize everything Saosin is known for sound and technique wise in songs. I’m always content listening to your music because I know it’ll hit every spot in my brain. Rock on!
This is sick! It has an ERRA vibe to it mixed with classic Saosin grit!
thats awesome! I LOVE Erra! Thank you!
Well, this demo was the straw that broke the bank. I just ordered a Lynx.
Me too, but BEFORE watching this 😂
I'm halfway through this demo and it's making me want this amp! THANKS!
Sounds great. Really well shot video. Thanks for posting.
What an amazing jam! Sounds like some sort of ERRA x Saosin bastard love child. You should really make this into a full song🔥
this is sick. nice work
that woodman Balaguer is so nice. I love it more every time it pops up in a video
ah thank you! I love these guitars sooo much! Thank you for watching!
Damn this is so good. Starts very atmospheric and ambient, and then it’s like the dam breaks and hits you full force. Absolutely love it. 🤘🏻
Dam, this bad boy sounds sick AF! The song is awesome too.
This was beautiful
Love the playing and the vibe ! 🤘
Thank you so much Beau !!
You’re damn talented ! 👏
Love the other videos on the Lynx. But this one never shows off the amp. Just the effects and the player jamming to backing tracks.
This is phenomenal, so much range and dynamic.
Dude!!!! That transition at 02:27 is so good.
Also secured those Sasoin tix for Sydney next year, keeeeeeen!
Had one of the OG handwired Lynx 50 for a while and LOVED it. This is on my short list.
I've got one of those too and absolutely love it!
Was already wanting this amp... You just sold me on it 😅
I love everything about this. But I just gotta say, that snare sits in that mix like crispy sprite. I love it.
Best demo of this amp. Is the noise gate only on the dirty channel or is it global? Solid tone and mix.
Global
so good!!!
Thank you :)
Dude that demo was phenomenal 🖤
Thank you man 🙏🏼🙏🏼
My god, the stank face I just pulled. Fantastic riffs Beau!
Beautiful tone
Goooot damn that went hard!
Great sound ! Beau 🤟
Stellar 🤘🤘🤘
Ok but why the hell did this have to go SO hard? Sounds great dude.
Thanks dude! :)
Came for the amp and was blown away by the instrumental art. That was awesome dude. Can I download this somewhere or was this just for the amp demo?
It’s on all streaming platforms. Just search beau Burchell badcat
@@Beau.Burchell will do dude
Sounds great man!
Thanks Tim! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Really good song
Damn, sounding real good man! Also making me wanna throw vocals over this haha.
Stay bright little fireflies
Hey, do you think you can post some guitar playthroughs of your work in Open Hand? Also if you could do Saosin No Angel demo guitar that would be great, too! I'm a huge fan of your guitar work!
Is that a Rabea Chapman sneaking in there? Really loved how that built up with those opening progressions.
*gushing* 🥺🥰❤
I've come across an old song called "I Have Become What I've Always Hated" and I'm thinking, this is the original version of Come Close and has those magical riffs. By any chance do you plan on doing a playthrough with this song? I mean, the riffs are too good man. I wish there's a remaster of some kind.
Hi. Yes, IBWIAH was a very early demo version of Come Close. No plans to re record the old demo.
@@Beau.Burchell Would you mind doing a playthrough at least. I just want to hear those magical riffs man.
Awesome demo! What was the signal chain at the beginning?
Damn man. How long were we waiting for this one. But damn it, totally worth the wait. Totally getting one now!
gets so sick at 2:32!
Beau!
The writing and playing rips! Good work, man!
What cabs/mics or IRs are you using for this? I'm always looking to diversify the range of tones I can pull out of the amp/cab rigs in my studio and I always prefer to grab stuff that's a little "less common" sounding. These tones all sound great but not super familiar; super awesome!
Thanks! A lot of that has to do with the uniqueness of the amp. I'm just using a basic Mesa / V30 IR from Ownhammer. I didn't want to do one of my crazy expensive mic setups with things that most people dont have access to, so it's just an IR.
@@Beau.Burchell 100% understandable. I'm hearing hints of the Mesa V30 thing that I always love but there's definitely something special. Says a lot about the amp maybe!
I'm looking for one more 2x12 (or possibly a 4x12 but it feels like a bit of overkill) for the studio and I've not ever heard the Bad Cat cabs up close. Have you played the Bad Cat cabs? I have a 2000-ish Mesa, and an old Carvin with mid-90s V30s in it. Any thoughts about your favorite non-Mesa cabs for the studio? I end up covering a lot of range in my studio - Drop F# chugs to indie rock to chicken pickin' - so I'd love to grab one more cab that's useful across a variety of sounds.
Thanks for any info/opinion you can lend!
@@DontWorryImAPilot hmm... IMO the bad cat branded v30s are very similar to the old 2000s mesa cab speakers. I've got 2 old mesa cabs here and they sound similar to the bad cat speakers I have here. obviously the exception would be the 4x12 cabinet size and shape. The older bad cat 4x12 cabs came with the wood beam blockers in them, but I cut them out because I'm mainly recording and I could hear some phase issues with the reflections on the mics. Overall I think the 4x12 bad cat cabs sound awesome. but I dont have a ton of experience with the 2 x 12's
@@Beau.Burchell I appreciate the info! Interesting to know they sound similar to the older, awesome-sounding Mesa stuff.
Funny you mention the beam-blockers. I thought I was nuts and hearing phase problems when a buddy came in with his Supro combo amp (I can't remember the model). Flicked on the flashlight...beam blocker. Luckily the sound we needed was well-served by a backed-off-a-bit LDC more than an up-close dynamic so the phase smear disappeared a bit.
Again, thanks for taking the time and sharing wisdom from your stacked up pile of experience!
Sounds awesome man!! Is that a JM Jmascis?? Could you tell me what guitars do you use in this video? Thanks!!
Yes it’s a JM. The other guitars are all my signature guitars from Balaguer Guitars. The sea foam green one is a limited edition woodman.
What lens did you shoot this with? Looks amazing.
Sigma 35mm and zeiss 55mm
@@Beau.Burchell thank you sir! Such a pleasing shallow depth of field.
@@justinsmithmusic thank you! Ya it’s always a delicate dance
Yeah buddaaaaaaaeeeeee!
#awesome
Dude was that a Squier you were using? What a rad tone.
Almost any guitar sounds good through a good amp lol amp and speakers are basically most of the tone
Jesus, put out a record will ya? Haha that was killer. Gonna have to upgrade my lynx looks like.
This is on streaming services now. I'll be putting all these demo songs on an album soon.. But in the mean time, they are singles.
What is the effect at the beginning in that clean sound, some kind of reverb? Thanks for the answer.
It’s a tc sub n up, into a keeley eccos delay into a dark world reverb. All the effects are very subtle, but combine into something that is unique. Thank you for noticing. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you very much for your reply and god bless you..
Does it sound better than the old lynx 50?
They are different designs. I really love the old lynx 50 HW. I think amps are not something where they are either or.. its more of a collection thing. so this amp definitely fills a space in the collection.
@@Beau.Burchell that makes a lot of sense. The only two things I dislike about the old lynx 50 HW is that it is very noisy in the higher gain realm and it kinda lacks a bit of bottom end. I was hoping to see if the new lynx would improve on those two categories.
@@carlosbetancourt5336 First : the new Lynx V2 Made in USA is also handwired and not PCB (that is the cheap player series); second: it is very quiet in terms of noise ; third : massive bottom end (i can not put bass over 10 o'clock); fourth: monstruos gain ( twice the gain of my Diezel VH2) and dynamics and touch response; fifth: harmonically rich distortion- handwired boutique construction shows off...
@@marcopanza1011does it take pedals well may I ask? Have an addiction and it involves really high end boutique small builders that make unreal pedals and I seem to not be able to shake this disease of needing any and all brands of them! So wanted to know how or is it a pedal platform amp In every best way? As in thru the front, but if has effects loop I’d like to know to but I run pedals in front!
So thanks
Praticallly it is a mix between a Voc AC30 and a Hot rodded jcm 800..,you have the answer
🖤
little do we know hes just using his tonehub plugin for this lol jk but it does sound that good, im layering the 5153 and badcat quad tracking right now
Tough!
damn
F&($;/ sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk dude 🤟🏻🤟🏻
Are all guitars in drop B?
it’s sounds so Saosin….. hmhmhmhmhmhmh
What'd you use for drums though?
a combination of my Signature Room Sound Library, Big Stage from EZX, and some new samples I've been working on.
How clean does channel one get?
bone clean. all of the sounds are the Lynx
we need an Bad Cat Lynx plugin now!!!!
