What a good video. Brought it all back for me! I moved on my own from a county council farm in Yorkshire to Burgundy in 2012. 2 years or more of stress, it was a very difficult time. Changing to a french school must have been hard, you were very brave! Bon courage.

Congratulations folks on a successful monumental move into an altogether different culture & lifestyle made that much more difficult on account of the language barrier---you're truly amazing and you've carved out a very successful operation & you ought to be proud of all your accomplishments!!. Your videos are most interesting , just how each of your talents compliment one another--- amazing how you managed to put this operation into production in such short order. Myself, I've gone through a couple of farming operations here in Alberta, coming from Ireland as a single man in my early 20's into an English speaking culture at least, but such a move is indeed life altering and on reflection---what a priceless experience ----would do it all again were I in the same situation. Here's wishing you continued success & keep those videos coming Laura!

It is interesting the government determines the price of farm land. Do you have to pay a property tax each year to the government or tax on your profits from the farm? And what if your dad wants to give you the farm as his daughter? Does the government allow that? Thank you Laura and your mom and dad for sharing this so us in the USA and every where else can see the differences. And there are so so many.

An absolutely fascinating story, your parents were very brave and determined and are to be commended greatly for making things a success. I'm sure there was a lot of hard work and many challenges involved. What about your own story from your point of view as a young person? How did you get on at school with the language where I'm sure all subjects were taught through French? Social life and such? By the way I farm a suckler herd and sheep in Donegal where there is much rain and the land is sticky 😁 Cows are Salers crossed with Charolaise stock bull. Sheep are Lleyns crossed with Texel rams. How's the fertiliser situation? For 27% CAN straight Nitrogen here it is €930/tonne. Great video 💪💪💪👍

Can I please get some help on this question, how do u fill out forms can u have an option to fill them out in English or is it a must in French? Also is it the same with farm paperwork? How does it work at marts with the auctioneers and understanding verbal and written french 🤔? Thank u for any reply I'm just really am mystified as to how it all operates and if u can get by with broken french with mostly English as the dominant language verbally and written. Hope I hear something back ASAP cheers Laura.
