As someone that lives in Turks and Caicos, your video is pretty accurate. However, we do not add tax on groceries. Most local restaurants that are not in the “tourist areas” also do not add tax. Also, you can party at some local bars but I would suggest going to bars in the Grace Bay Area eg. Shisha Lounge, Blu Bar, Danny Bouys and the Ritz Carlton just to name a few. I also would say visit Grand Turk either on a cruise or book a flight for the day and enjoy that island. You will get a more local experience in Grand Turk as opposed to Provo but both are amazing to see.

T & C is the most expensive vacation I have ever went on. they proudly advertise that there are no taxes there, yet the reality is that there is a 30% tax on everything that is imported into the islands, which is almost everything. as a couple, every time we sat down for lunch it was %$50 US. dinners were $150. my other complaint about T & C is the amount of litter and neglect. full cases of empty beer bottles all over the sides of the roads. and several of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been on completely covered in plastic debris washed in from the ocean and apparently no organized effort to clean it up. T & C has the most amazing blue water anywhere in the world, some of the most incredible beaches I gave been to... but the level of neglect sadly made it a heart breaking place to visit.

I visited Turks and Caicos in January 2020. There was a small marathon, just 21 of us and I came in 2nd place. I remember liking Grace Bay so much that I was actually disinterested in the marathon. But that said 13 miles was in the dark with potholes and the other 13 miles was in blazing sun. We ended up running on the left being British and running on sidewalks for safety. Besides the road race I swam in the beach and in the lazy River at The Sands Resort. I had a private room facing the ocean. It was nice having 85°F weather in January. I want to go back, despite the cost. $$$$
Sucks for who the Canadians or the TCI locals? If the Canadian government was gonna increase salaries and bring down the cost of living then I'd be all for it partially. That wasn't the case though they just wanted their own tropical paradise.Wealthy white Canadians would have flocked to the Islands buying up all the good land on the beaches and disrespecting the locals that been on these beaches from generation to generation.

your videos are awesome thank you for sharing
You should've included dont try to bike on industrial-area roads where there's lots of trucks, and don't eat raw conch, you can get hep A.. and do know that even when it's cooked, the chance is still there due to improper handling
Nice tip. Traditionally conch is eaten both raw and cooked and it's fine, food safety is the standard for locals and restaurants.
Great video!

Check State Department for travel advisories. There are a lot of don’ts that involve crime.
Very informative Thanks

Do you have any tips or a video on travel insurance specifically for Turks & Caicos? The travel authorization process is stressing me out a bit. Thankss for an amazing video!
What is the best inclusive hotel that offers quality food and plenty of distance to walk on the beach?
Awesome video
I visited Turks and Caicos in January 2020. There was a small marathon, just 21 of us and I came in 2nd place. I remember liking Grace Bay so much that I was actually disinterested in the marathon. But that said 13 miles was in the dark with potholes and the other 13 miles was in blazing sun. We ended up running on the left being British and running on sidewalks for safety.
Besides the road race I swam in the beach and in the lazy River at The Sands Resort. I had a private room facing the ocean. It was nice having 85°F weather in January. I want to go back, despite the cost. $$$$
How is it with Covid testing to get back to us? Do they test at airport or only paid locations? Thanks
it sucks that it didn’t become a Canadian province like was proposed.
I actually ate at a really good Canadian bar when I was there.
It doesn't suck for the people that live there. They don't want to be a colony. They want to be free. Just as Canada is
@@mismissy you underestimate the effects of seasonal depression that make it hard to even basically function in the winter for some of us.
@@keith96969 why should the locals suffer because you choose to live in a cold environment. I don't see why that makes it ok for you to invade their country. They sell lamps for that. They are called S.A.A.D lamps
Is there VIP service through the airport lines? With all the cruises is it too crowded? Csn a couple be there without having a car and near amenities?
Great brother
Love this place and love your tropical beaches videos! I noticed nobody had masks at the airport. Was this shot pre-pandemic?
