My wife is a Filipino registered nurse whom I met and married in the United States in 1975. This next May we will be married 50 years! You are exactly right in your observation of being married to a Filipina! They are very faithful! My marriage has been BLESSED for many years! I am truly GRATEFUL! We have two children married to excellent men and two grandchildren! We all are BLESSED with good health! Great life! THANK YOU LORD!

When I met the young Filipina in 1973 who was to eventually become Mrs. Rick, we were both overseas in a country foreign to us. There were no other Filipinos around to provide company and fellowship. Her family was 8,000 miles away, and there was no way I could get to know them. Remember, this was far before the instant communication that the internet now provides. We dated for five months and then got married. I had no opportunity to learn about the Filipino community, the culture, the food, or family relationships. I went into it totally blind, with the only Filipino I knew being the girl I was marrying. There were rough moments initially, and I had to learn the importance of rice at every meal to keep her somewhat happy. So far, we've made it through three kids, five grandkids, and five good decades. I anticipate at least some more years together.

Both sides need to get to know each other before you get married. The title seems negative for Filipinos . It isn't only the foreigners who will get to know Filipinas before getting married. It takes 2 to tango.

I have lived in the Philippines for over 8 years and this month is our 5th anniversary.
First rule. Never, Ever take your girl to your birth country. The failure rate is really high once the Westernized Filipinas tell her the score. Or rather how she can score.
I keep the family at arms length. Limiting visits to once a month. She gets to see them during the week, when her work takes her there.
Yes, work. She must have a job. A real job. I don't care what she does with her wages. Except that I encourage her setting aside funds for retirement, which I contribute a portion to. My economic interaction with the family is also limited. Nobody starves. Nobody dies. But I'm not giving any allowances to her or the family. Full stop. I hear the word "Kuripot"and I laugh.
"Happy Wife, Happy Life" is nonsense. It is "Happy Husband, Suspicious Wife". The thought of being a doormat just to keep her around is anathema to me.
Be a strong, proud Man and things will work out. Be a weak, downtrodden Man and you will be unhappy.

I have heard that many times. When we are in the Philippines we are the catch but when they come here they are the catch and many men will come after them. That is where the woman has to be very strong and remain loyal to her husband. Thank you for your comment.

Solution: Make sure you have an outdoor kitchen (known as a dirty kitchen in the Philippines) so that she can cook all the smelly food outside. Add an exhaust fan to it so that foul odors can escape the home. Also help keep that dirty kitchen clean.

So, whenever I’m there for a visit, I get a kick out of hearing Texans speak with their thick accents. To me especially, nothing is cooler than hearing a “Mexican” speak with a Texas accent, lol!!! So if this was your video, here's what you would say:
      - Be warned, Filipinas like to eat a fish that stinks up the house when she's cooking them.
(The above was delivered straight and to the point).
      ____________________
And then in this video there's his way: (Note: I remember all this after watching this video only once.*)
      - In Filipino culture a favorite food are these tiny silver-colored fish. Your Filipina GF or wife will love frying those up, and and often.
      - The problem with that for us Western men, when you walk into your house and smell a foul odor, the first thing you are gonna do is check the bottom of your shoes because you think you must have stepped on some [dog poop].
      - Yes, the odor that fills your house when she's cooking those little fish, well, it has a stink that reminds me of smashed dog poop on the bottom of my shoe.
      - As the man of the house you could insist that your Filipina not eat those stinky little things, but that's not being fair to your Filipina and you are disrespecting her culture and traditions.
      - But there is a way to deal with it so that both you and your Filipina are happy, have her cook the fish outdoors. What a few friends and I did, we built an outdoor cement barbecue/oven structure.
      - End result: Your Filipina's culture is respected. She continues to enjoy a favorite meal. You are happy sitting on your favorite chair inside your odor free home.
      ____________________
*The reason I remembered all this, because of his excellent information delivery style.

In one of my first videos i mentioned it. It is a sure way to make sure the one you are talking to is not married. I remember going to the Bureau of Statics to have it done before. I am glad you mentioned it because i think it needs to be brought up often where everyone will know there is a way to make sure they are not married. hello. Thank you for your comment because i know it means something to you. But is it possible part of your conclusion might be wrong. I met my wife on line and we got to know each other over 3 years building a relationship. Now here is the part you might have wrong and even the topic of a video i will do soon. My age and my wife's age is very close. I also have many friends that their relationship / marriage is the same. If i had married here in the United States it would have been no different about the age so would my marriage here have been wrong? Secondly my wife did not need my income. She is educated and had a good income before i met her. Now i do agree a relationship should be based on something more than age. A good relationship is based on many things. Getting to know the person to make sure they are a good match.
