It is high time that the nomination of the speaker be adjusted so that only a competent or impartial person occupies this post, not a mere puppet chosen by the government. It is a real shame to see the speaker not being able to speak the official language properly. Besides she is famous for insults and rude behaviour when she was occupying Ministry of Health. To make matters worse she was not even elected in last elections. She was merely given a "boute" because she is a relative of the JUGNAUTH...

The speaker does not have any power or have control over the house. My opinion is that she should leave the chair to someone that is capable of controlling the house and make the voice heard instead of screaming like nonsense . As a citizen of Mauritian I am disappointed with the speaker capabilities in the house she not fare to both parties. Mauritius need to re-elect a new speaker end of .
