  • This is my upgrade plan for my existing 14KWh battery system. I will replace my existing 150A Daly BMS with this 200A JKBMS that comes with a 2A active balancer. JK just recently released their new 4.3 inch touch screen LCD display and just nice to replace the Daly BMS LCD display.

    For the switch, do you know how it operates... when you turn it on, it gives voltage to the bms and when you turn it off, it cuts the voltage? I am asking because I am using this on a cart and was wondering if I could use the ignition to power the bms somehow, maybe through a relay or something, instead of the switch. I'm just curious : How does it turn on the bms vs a regular switch?

      i''m not really 100% sure i have not tested switch with a multi-tester. the switch is like a momentary switch with 2 wires so probably you can use normal switches to wake up the BMS but to turn off there is a delay that you need to simulate a 10s pressed or something.

      So far not possible but you can add a switch to cut off the lcd power supply that will work.

    Hey Bryan, thanks for the video. I am also using this BMS to upgrade my Daly. My lcd (same one) has a switch wired in parallel with the LCD harness. It only seems to fit in the GPS port (the switch), is that were the switch plugs in on the BMS?

    • @bryanmendoza2770

      the wiring harness is total 5 pins which combined with the 3pin for 485 com port and 2pin for power button. pls check in the video for a closer look at around 9:00 minutes.

      I noticed it is always on as long as you have the 12v external power supply. The other 3-wire cable going to BMS is the 485 communication port that get's BMS Data

    • @bryanmendoza2770
      @bryanmendoza2770  2 года назад

      So far, i dont see any sufficient documentation for the manufacturer about the bms communication port which inverter or protocol is supported to work. If you need those feature i suggest don't use this inverter for now. There are a lot oem server rack batteries now has those communications port that connects to inverter you just need to ask the seller which is compatible to your inverter system.

  • @ame2entre

    I'm a little confused on the LCD. I ordered the display separately. Connected everything up but have the 2 free wires hanging out. Are these power wires and if so how many volts are you using to power the LCD? Is it a separate power supply than the one the BMS is using?

    • @bryanmendoza2770
      @bryanmendoza2770  Год назад

      I connected the lcd power supply to a 12v1amp. Its separate power because your battery is usually of higher voltage unless put a voltage regulator. My bms is minimum 7s.

    Hi Bryan, do you need to have a charger or load connected before turning ON the bms? I have an 8s configuration and a JK-BMS type JK-B2A8S20P-H. The BMS turns On and light is flashing. But when I opened the app and DID a SCAN I cannot see the BMS device. When I looked at my mobile bluetooth the device is there. It means my mobile bluetooth is recognising the bluetooth of the bms. Thank you.

    • @evil17
      @evil17 2 года назад

      No, you dont need a load, but the battery must be connected of course. The bms can be started with a charger I have found as I have the same bms as you have and am having problems with the Bluetooth connection as well, but it could be a problem with my BMS as when I start it up it gives 3 short beeps and then 1 long beep. I dont know what is wrong, all the balance leads are correct and it was working for a week prior okay. Any idea’s what that might error signal may mean? Also, my app shows the BMS but it will not connect anymore.

    • @bryanmendoza2770
      @bryanmendoza2770  2 года назад

      for the purpose of testing i only use 1 wire for (P-) and 1 for (B-). In actual installation you should use 2 wires to carry more Amp load since these are in parallel. The (P-) is your main negative to your inverter or tester(-). The (B-) is connected to the main negative of the battery. The main positive of the battery is your main positive to the inverter or tester(+). So your main negative power supply is protected by the BMS to cut-off the voltage output for abnormalities.

    It's just a shame those chinese english abreviations, not intuitive at all ;
    like "Vol" ( volume), for Volt, "per mission" instead of permission.. and lots and lots of others,it makes for a bit of an imperfect experience, just sad.
    And still after numerous videos and reviews also showing the insides too,over 2 or 3 days... this is the one i will buy tomorrow, in this case, in the 8s, 24 volt form...
