Denon DJ has officially released their new top-tier DJ turntable called the VL12 PRIME. The new VL12 is not your run-of-the-mill or everyday Super-OEM turntable like all the other brands. This is a totally new Denon DJ designed turntable from the ground up which makes it unique to the DJ realm. The VL12 has a super-high-torque direct drive motor, adjustable pitch ranges, isolation feet, RGB lighting, and professional-grade metal construction.
The Denon DJ VL12 has an S-Shaped tonearm and a play/pause button that looks like the same button found on their flagship DJ controllers and SC5000 player. The Denon DJ brand is really starting to take shape with offering very high quality products for working and Club DJ’s that is sure to give a decent challenge to Pioneer DJ’s dominance. We will have the X1800 mixer and SC5000 player reviews released soon so stay tuned for much more and see the full Review Summary and Review Video for more info on the new VL12 turntable by clicking at the Website link above.
Hands down...THE BEST REVIEWS ON DJ GEAR ON RUclips, IN MY OPINION!!! Very detailed and in-depth explanations regarding the gear itself and the features.
Thanks!!!!
Nice vid my man, diggin' the shirt - Dangerfield and Foxx. Legends.
Yes, finally and the first DJ review site review! Thank you
You're Welcome!
When they first announced these and I found out they were not Hanpins, I was dead set on buying a pair but was waiting for a review. I wound up doing exactly whats mentioned in the video, paid beacoup loot to have my 1994 technics mk2s refurbished and pimped out. Denon DJ has come out with some great products with the prime series, but their roll out has been horrible.
I own a pair of these and they are the best turntables i have played on or with. Buy whatever u want guys. It doesnt matter what you buy, its how you play. I did better scratching and turntablism on my Epsilon's than guys with Technics. Of course there are levels to professional and entry level gear. But to bash equipment is just dumb.
I'd love to see some vids of these in action. Don't suppose you've got any of you scratching away on your Denons do you?
Not yet, but I will upload some in the near future. I'll make sure to come back to this post and let ya know.
Awesome. Cheers mate.
Need to come in silver, and I like original dot platter.
on dire une audio technica 120
Great job, breaking everything down
Can you do a video review on the new Stanton ST/STR8 150 mk2 turn tables ??? Please 🙏🏽 thanks
i really love my Stanton ST150 M2
very smooth machine, looks tidy, simple and amazing
what i love with this because it has adjustable brake (my style slow brake)
very easy and simple to play because you just to press the play button and it's spin!!!
I've tried the Denon and Pioneer ones and still prefer Technics, the button clicks sound better and Technics are known to last as lon as 35 years and even longer and still work perfectly. My mate used to run a club that had their Technics 28 years and they still worked flawlessly when he sold them for cd turnbtables.
technics will never die, built for one purpose....to play records, none of this led under platter, torque adjust, reverse, 50% pitch range bullshit. was glad when technics made the new 1200/1210 they stayed with the oldskool look, feel and design without all these useless gimmicks.
@@MzkJnky80 You fucking fanboys are annoying, music is music no matter what you use, and I for one am happy to see all of the available DJ products on the market, you bitches can be happy with your 70's turntable and let everyone else pick what they like, besides Techs brought back SL1200 MK7 for fucking 1200 dollars, like wtf, nobody except the FANBOYS will pay that price, especially with all the other choices....
Nobody takes records to gigs anymore not any pro DJ's or new or old school, using Timecode like everyone does this day in age, is no different than a CDJ or controller, let people play music how they choose!!
I like speed options and better stability on the pioneer plx1000
@@foodstampz The Technics SL1210mkII are the most stable decks ever created and that's widely agreed upon.
Hi all,
i have a problem with my VL12 when i use a timecodevinyl. There is a disturbing noise near the base. And no, it´s not the timecode signal. I never heard this noise on my technics 1210. Only one of the VL12 have this problem. Denon said, that everything is okay. I crosschanged the systems, the vinyl and tried the digitrac and qbert system.
Never had this issue on my review units so I cannot comment. Try the forums to see if there is anything. It might be a motor issue... Try to play back the sound to Denon DJ via support email and tell them the other deck does not sound like that and you want it fixed. They should have an option for you...
Bout time my brother. One minor issue....No dust cover. Called Denon about getting a couple of Dust covers. Terrible customer service (Comcast terrible). Paid Almost $2000 for two V12's and no freak-in dust cover to protect my investment. On top of that... unhelpful customer service. At least the turntables are excellent. I just hope I never have any functionality issues with them. I don't want to have to deal with terrible customer service they have in place.
They don't come with dust covers, so you won't ever get any from Denon...
I prefer original technics sl1200 mk2s compared to anything the parts by Panasonic technics back then was just solid, that's why they work like new today even with DVs, these modern turntables look less robust and cheaper parts inside , this deck looks nice don't get me wrong, if your start out vinyl or DVs DJ check it out of course
we dont give a fuck about your stupid old tech 12s we r here to know about the Denon v12 so go give yourself a pat on the back and fuck off
Why aren’t you mentioning it that torque can be adjusted?
Hello! Where can I buy or order something like this?
Ebay! These are hard to find now.
Great stuff as always man...
Thank you!!!
Where can I buy it ?? pleaseeeeeee , thanks a lot !!!
great turntable system for dee jay.
Can please produce a DYI video or make recommendations for an in home stand that would accommodate two turntables and a mixer?
Check Ikea tables!
They need to make a straight arm version with MIDI Pads. I would buy 2.
Im confused about internal grounding and external grounding for this turntable. What is the purpose and what do you connect that grounding plug too?? does it work without it?? or do you get a hum??
You get hum without a ground so it will hum, you need to connect a cable to a back of the deck to an amp or mixer marked 'ground' or any ground point such as a plug socket ground. External grounding can bring better sound improvements over internal ones
Like the old DOT platter better!
Great Review Bro
thanks bro!
Hey bro. Why do you think this turntable isn't sold anymore? Did it not sell well? If so, why didn't it sell well? Are people too hung up on the Technics brand name to give something else a try? This deck seemed to be better than the Technics MK7 in every conceivable way, but it's off the market from what I can tell. Hopefully you see this and don't mind sharing your thoughts. Peace
Hey! I don't know if these are discontinued or not but InMusic Brands now owns Stanton, so I think they are going to come out with some new Stanton Turntables soon and probably don't want any of their in-house brands to compete with it. That's what I think. They also discontinued the Numark NTX-1000 which was basically a cheaper version of this Denon deck.
Dope video
Hey man do you have any videos of you DJIng? Not questioning you as a DJ or anything but I’ve been watching for a while and I’m just curious
You can always pay admission to a venue he's booked at and judge for yourself. lol.
Didn't you ask this on a other video?
PrinceTheSigma that might be difficult if he is from another country genius
dj blaze blazing cuts
Just go look at my Blazing Cuts Performance Playlist.... I've put it down on turntables LOTS of times on this channel... Go Peep it and stop complaining! LOL
Very good review, thanks. Could you tell me if the end of the turntable that you’d see if in battle mode is silver or black? Thanks.
It's a dark grey color...
Thanks!
Do you know how to remove broke clamp from at lp120 audio technica rest tonearm.
Will the torque adjustment change the way the stop brake operates?
hi thanks for your video, do you think they will update the VL 12 anytime soon, as I'm thinking of buying a set.
Definitely NOT... This is it from them in the turntable category for a while!
Which turntable out the two do you like better the Pioneer plx-1000 or Denon VL12 prime?
I like the feel of the V12 PRIME better than the PLX...
DJbooth Pro Audio can I get your input on one more comparison how about the Reloop 8000 or the Denon VL12?
I actually like the build of the VL12 better, but i like the features of the Reloop 8000 better. What means more to you?
DJbooth Pro Audio the build will be a more important to me, I can always use a secondary sub mixer to get some of those features that the Reloop 8000 have.
@@julezx87 Bro wait til May, when the Reloop 8000 MK2's drop, they are sick AF, no need for an expensive feature packed mixer anymore!!
Sick!
Cool 😎

Great review Blaze! The tone arms on the VL12s looks fantastic. How would you compare the tone arms to the Stanton ST150s (mk1) . Was thinking of making the move to these if my Stanton’s start to wear and tear
The stanton should last you for a LONG time... I think mine are about 10yrs old now and they look and perform like day-one... The VL12 tonearm is SOLID and build very strong with no play or wobble at all...
What's the lowest cost Numark turntables ?? Looking to buy some
NTX1000
what are the screens showing the track waveform above mixer and decks called?
Its called the Numark Dashboard and we reviewed that as well...
wow n flutter. sn ratio, rumble etc cant find it anywere.
are these VL12 made in Japan?
I have no idea!
Let's not forget this is Denon's build not Hanpins, this is not a super OEM, they explained that at Namm...
Yes this is on its own I think it makes it even more unique
What's the difference between the one with the black tone arm?
The black one never came out.. They changed the design.
DJBooth Pro Audio word.
What equipment is he using at 8:00? clearly it is a DVS system, but without the screen of a laptop.. can anybody tell?
Serato DJ is working using the Numark Dashboard for the screen display. No need for an open laptop screen with this accessory.
It's the screens from the Numark NS7III, dope setup!
They make universal dust covers, and since it don't come with one than there isn't one made specific so stop acting like baby and figure it out!
2:44 FORTUNATELY there is no internal (shit) amp!
can you do a giveaway by chance btw great video
Giveaways coming soon! Stay Tuned!
Nice unit but just a little too heavy. the same weight of the 1200's would be fine.
DAMN the Technics sl 1210MK2 that i have got new in 1989-90 and that i stil have is to me the best ever but i think i will get me a DENON DJ VL12 PRIME just for my Home HIFI System it would look so good on my Denon system but i bet it will not be better than my old Technics sl 1210MK2.
Really nice video but man dont ever say you would like to have a amp in your turntable, all the best turntable are without amp. Just get you one and tack the amp out you will si the diffrence in the sound. Here is a video of a guy tacking out the amp of a Technica AT LP120 and what a FUCKING diffrence here is the link ruclips.net/video/4NT67ii04uQ/видео.html
and thx for your nice videoand sorry for my bad english i am from Belgium
on dirait une audio technica 120 usb mais pas le meme prix
no cover ... ??
No cover... I think Decksaver makes one though...
Stanton St150 M2??? no review?
Not yet...
👍
You having Stanton 150s would you personally buy these?(799 a piece?)
I have str8 150s aswell
I would keep my Stanton 150's OR buy a set of Stanton 150 V1's over these...
It's not technique! It's tech nick, technics !
That's how we say it in NJ/NY!
@@RealDJblaze Thats how everyone says it this dude is smoking that shit!
@@draynged7869 LOL
I don’t like the ‘Denon DJ’ splattered everywhere all over it ... Very cheap
the price is not so cheap ;)
the whole Denon desing is very cheap. not only on this turntable ... but also with cd players, controllers and mixers... with all this green lights and ugly buttons and knobs..
looks very plastic ..
Please don’t buy these if you want to dj vinyl. Get technics.
Sl1200 mk2 is it still available on the market?
