Yup exactly what I’m doing now. Had everything except the strap… knew I needed something to press the tire down but wasn’t sure a strap would work. Apparently you can swap the strap for a rope and use a wrench to twist the tire down with as well.
Thank you very much for this video. I was in the process of buying two new real tires for my Old Troy-Bill Leaf vac. I didn't think the tires could be fixed. I watched your video and fixed them both today. It was as easy as you made it look (you have to be a bit careful removing the straps as you said). I saved myself $244.00 because of this video and I want to thank you for teaching me this!!
Absolutely perfect technique. Found a dolly out front for trash, picked it up, tires wouldn't hold air. This trick worked perfect and now I have a free SOLID dolly. Thanx
Worked well. Once you have the strap good and tight, it takes the air and seals the tire. These types of tire only take about 20/24lbs of air max. Be ready for a little “POP” when you release the ratcheting tie down. MUCH safer than the carb cleaner or ether and a flame.
This worked perfectly! Such a quick and practical fix, thank you so much for the video! With pressed-on tubeless tires, I was close to figuring I'd have to replace the dolly. I used a bike floor pump since the tires are small and didn't bother getting out the air compressor. Definitely use caution in removing the ratchet strap - the rubber tire really causes it to snap open under a lot of tension with just a bit of air pressure, I didn't give your mention of that in the video enough consideration when I inflated the first tire!
I only have a manual bicycle pump. Would that work? Canadian Tire sold me an electric air compressor. When I got home and read instructions, it turns out it's not electric after all since you need to plug it into a car. I don't have a car so I brought it back and bought the manual pump.
I used a bike pump with no problem! Given the size of the handtruck tire, it was faster than getting out the air compressor and only took a minute to pump up! And big thanks for this video and method, it worked perfectly!
I turned off the video before you warned about the ratchet strap popping when you release it. Blasted my thumb. 😂 Won't make that mistake again. Great video. Thanks.
OH MAN!!!! PERFECT, THANK YOU, didn't want to look for a strap so use a PC of rope and turnicit with a long screwdriver, pop!, It was fantastic,I was trying all sorts and about to give up then as always,YOU TUBE COMES THRU!!
Great video just what I needed, I was struggling trying to put air in my wheel barrel tire, but the straps work, but you were right you have to be careful when you on do them, thanks.
I thought you use a thicker strap… Watching again the video I realized that I was wrong… 🤦🏻♂️ But the investement ($20) was worth it, because ai don’t know when I’m going to use it again… Thanks for your recommendation… I want to add that this also WORKS if you want to fix a tubeless tire on an electric scooter… I use your video for that. Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏼 Greetings from Chicago!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Everytime, I try this the ratchet tie down is tight, but I can't ratchet it any further anymore. I think I have the ratchet backwards, that could be the culprit.
You forgot to clean the inside of the rim. So many times there is dirt or some debris between the rim and the tire. By not cleaning the rim where the tire meets the rim, there is a strong possibility that it might hold air for a bit, but will go flat in a week.
Nice video but if you have to buy extra tools to do keep air in them, hand trucks with tubeless tires are worthless pieces of sh*t for the average homeowner.
Subscribe and Thumbs up if this saved you from buying a new tire!
Thank you! Boyfriend was trying to use starting fluid to expand it. Saved our house from being burnt down
Oh boy! Glad you all are safe.
@@nagelbagel9You did not show how to wrap the ratchet strap? I tried and it did not work for me, so no idea how you did it?
CLUTCH my brother and I were struggling trying to figure out a way to fill our front lawn mower tire and this made it so easy, great video

Good call! A rope of some type that you can tighten down will work also.

Glad it helped! Those tires are not cheap.
I didn't have a strap but I used my childs belt and that worked ! thanks
Couldn't add air to my snow blower tire till I came upon your video, thank you so much bro it worked for me too.
Glad it helped
Thanks! Worked like a charm. Had 3 tires that needed this solution. I thought I was going to have to replace them.
Thanks! I knew this eas possible but couldn't remember how. Saved me a pain on a random Saturday afternoon.

Absolutely use caution, there will be a lot of pressure! Thanks for the reminder to all of us.
Dude, you saved me time and money with this vid. The technique really works. Thx so much!
Thanks my man! Put some WD-40 on both sides, put the ratchet strap on… done!!! Perfectly! Thank you so much!
Great tip!
Thanks for this video! Couldn’t figure out how to get the edges of the tire tight against the rim. Worked like a charm!!
Thanks for the video. Gonna give this a shot - ratchet straps - brilliant, getting ready for winter season, snowblower wheel deflated.
Did it end up working for you? Glad we were able to help!
You young Sir are a genius. THANK YOU!
Appreciate it, let us know what other workarounds we can suggest

Could be possible, but probably not enough pressure / speed of inflation to help get the seal.

Excellent! Thanks for the video. Within 5 min my tires were done 🙌
Glad it helped!
Works perfect. Way safer than the starter fluid approach. Thanks!!
Safer for sure, perhaps not as exciting though 😂
Thank you buddy ! Simple trick for simple things. Guy's like you are very usefull in our life. Appreciate
Thanks so much. It worked. You saved me a lot of headache hauling this thing in town to the repair man.
Great to hear!
Suprised me how well this worked thank you
Glad it helped
Thank you so much man straight to the point no BS video
Simple and practical. Thank you man for the win.
After trying several things, this did the trick! Thank you very much!
NICE!!! Show a way for a car tire that just won't make contact with the beads! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. I was about to throw out my Dolly, but it worked perfectly. Thanks.
You're welcome! So glad this helped.
Got my generator tire back on! Thanks!

Excellent! Great Improv on the rope.
Thank you for the showing this video I just had the issue with a lawn mower tire that help alot thanks again
My pleasure!
I have a leak between the tire and the rim. How did you later fix your leak?
Id start by giving the rim / tire surface a good scrub to remove any debris that could be causing the issue.
I can do it with starting fluid and fire . But the thing is what to do to make it stay inflated?
Great video just what I needed, I was struggling trying to put air in my wheel barrel tire, but the straps work, but you were right you have to be careful when you on do them, thanks.
Thanks so much!!! Was ready to just give up and buy solid wheels. Angry that I didn’t think of this☹️
This worked perfectly - thank you!!
Thanks forgot about that 👍🇺🇸helped me out today with my riding lawnmower

can you do this without an air compressor? Like a bike air pump
Probably not. You'll need a pump that pushes out air faster than a bike pump can
Very smart and innovative 👍🏽
Thank you! 😊
My boys' go kart tire is flat. Need to get it back on the bead. This should help.
Hope it worked!
Worked like a charm! Thanks man!

Did you end up figuring it out?
@@nagelbagel9 yes I figured it out, I was able to inflate the tire. I was just going the wrong way. I know how to do it now.
Thank You Thank You.
You just saved money day.
Great I was just trying to air up my dolly tires and they wouldn’t inflate. 👍🏽
Thanks bro! Great vid
Thanks for the tip. This worked great.
Great to hear!

It's done in the hood too bruh... like my Chinese homeboy says samething samething😑
Thank you for the video I was able to fix a mobility car tire
Thank you for this video

I like this more than the flame method
Much safer!
Thanks man, this really helped me today. ❤
Glad to hear it!
Worked perfectly. Thx
Your a genius bro🙏🙏 thank you so much you saved me 50 bucks 🤘🤘🤘
Glad I could help
How do you put a tire on a lawn mower rim?
Remove the valve core from the valve stem and you will have more air volume going into the tire. Likely won’t need the strap.
This was great. Thanks so much
Glad I was able to help!
Worked great. Thanks
I used a belt from my pants to do this a couple times. Put your knee into it and tighten, then blow the air.
thanks. I'm a girl with no rachet strap, but I do have a belt ;)
Great improv suggestion!
Glad you found a work around
@@powerhouse4273you're a powerhouse
I am girl with a scooter. How to use a belt around and a knee ?
Just used this trick on a friends Segway electric scooter.
Awesome!

It worked! 👍🏼 Thx
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for the tip.
You bet!
Thank you so much.

This is genius 🤯😎
I'll be damn. Was getting ready to go buy a new wheel and tire.
Glad I was able to help you save the money! Thanks for watching
Great idea!
Thanks!
That's easy with an old tire. Show how to do it with a new tire that the beads are tough to mate up. The ratchet strap usually doesn't work on those.
Thanks good idea
Thanks for watching! Glad to help
Brilliant!!!
Thanks!
Thanks 🙏🏽
You’re welcome 😊
To cool thanks.
My pleasure!
Thanks. 🎉
Thank you!!!
That’s the way a friend told me
I do it and eventually it loses the air

Its a tough balance. I use it so infrequently that it seems I have to inflate tires every use.
