I would often book a day off work on release day for the latest Light Novel and just read it in a single sitting
I'm going to miss those days

Worse is your reading a book and you hear “Reveille, reveille, all hands heave out” this is a literal wake up call for a ship at sea. And you still have two more chapters you wink get to til lunch.

11:15 I think you were probably talking about the suspension bridge effect?

One point I'd like to mention regarding the Wilfried x Hannelore ship. He was the very first to treat her as a damsel in distress. Lestilaut and Dunkelfelger were huge idiots for leaving her to fend off for herself in that bride-stealing ditter match. Everyone in her duchy treated her as a warrior and essentially ignored that she's also a girl who needed emotional support. I assume this is why she has grown to hate ditter and loved hanging out with Rozemyne and with her brief stay at Ehrenfest, the capital of romance novels.
Admittedly, Wilfried isn't the best match for any noble girl but he might be the one Hannelore needs emotionally. Despite being brutally frank in how he talks to people and being oblivious to potential danger, he is kind and means well. Moreover, he does not appear to have a scheming side to him that she has to be on guard with. That is refreshing to have in any sort of relationship.

Wilfried certainly doesn't have a scheming side. And in an ideal world... that would be considered a great asset in anyone. A great one...but also double edged. As Elvira had once pointed out... a talent for scheming is an appealing asset for nobles, coz let's face it, it's a tough world they live in. If you don't learn how to scheme, you won't be able to survive in their dogs eat dogs world. Heck! Even Hannelore's shown her a her little schemer side in her when she tried to plot something to get the Fermyne ship sailing, before she learned her help was unneeded that is!😅

@@akihanna I agree with it being a double-edged sword. That's primarily why Hannelore could choose someone better. It remains to be seen how much he has learned to control his impulses and being more critical of his retainers after all that has happened to him. He has the instinct to protect and was the first to see her as a girl in need of one, which is why Hannelore is smitten. I see why Ortwin thought he doesn't have a chance.

Wilfried is a genuine person, and so is Hannelore. They make a great match imo.

Hey@@crush1372! in an ideal world.. yes. But in the world of Yurgenshcmitt.. that's a recipe for disaster... more so since they're both people of high standing... they can't afford not to be scheming.

@@akihanna Oh, but that's the thing. They have high standings and have retainers who could do the scheming for them. Other than Rozemyne, Hannelore's father, Werdekraf, does not appear to be the scheming sort outside of his generous use of ditter; Siglinde does the thinking of the pair. Florencia schemed but it was through Harmut's father. Sylvester isn't the scheming sort either but more of a prankster; something you don't expect from an aub.
Honestly, Hannelore and Wilfried could make it work. They won't remain ignorant or directionless all their lives as they still have time to grow.

so an author shouting "SIIIIIIKE" virtually, crosses international boundaries. Got it... (and yes, in the 1980s we deliberately spelled it "sike")
