I guess we’ll never r3ally know how much or little she knew because without the parents a lot is just alleged. I kinda which they had kept her alive you know for testifying purposes but that Dad deserved it (men like that can’t be saved especially when doing it to their own blood/children.

i love the symbolism. kitty and jose were obsessed with the image of their family. everything had to be seen in a certain way. but now that they’re dead? the facade is gone and the boys are stripped down. they’re vulnerable.

The Appeals Court judgement is public information and was written in depth by the Appeals Court judges. They evaluated both trials and did a great job of explaining the applicable CA laws, flaws in the defense teams' legal strategies, and findings from the brothers' testimonies.
It's giving clues who the "monsters" are in this it was clearly meant to be shown at 0:06 he didn't wanna touch his shoulder. I really hope this helps the brothers rather than portray them was villains.

I remember this case well. The parents are so evil. Their father used to abuse his kids. Sexual abuse😢😢the mom kniws it but completely ignored her kids to keep the idol family image in their rich community!
This shows how they tried so hard in faking this "perfect family" image. But everyone now knows the horrors that went on behind closed doors. Only a few family members knew about it before the murders.

The part that bothers me the most is family members KNEW. They did not call for help. Those boys had no one to help them but themselves. I have always said they were convicted because they were buying lavish things after their parents died.
I think thats the point in the perfect family portrait. They trying to display the perfect family but in ever portrait there are a few scratches and holes in it, hint deep secrets that won't say hidden.
That's scary. You never know the real twisted psyche behind the brothers and their parents.

The thing that gets me so upset about this case is that their cousins on both sides of the family have said we saw things and we were told things older female cousins said I told my aunt what my cousin told me and she slapped me in the face and told me never to talk about it again or else their father paid for everything it is very likely that everyone in their family Newwood was happening and shows to stay quiet because they didn’t want to stop the gravy train.
Right?! They also witnessed behavior that are examples of signs of abuse. Something about a box under the bed (it’s gross so I’ll leave it at that) There’s also a letter one of them wrote at 15 that alluded to the abuse as well.

Gypsy didn't actually do the killing for starters. Her then boyfriend is the one who killed her mom and is spending the rest of his life behind bars for that. So you have two very very different situations.

Javier Bardem is the PERFECT actor to play Jose. He doesn't look like him, but he actually kinda does look like him at the same time.
Can't even imagine doing that to my son. Poor kids. They did a terrible thing, but they were so messed up because of their parents. I hope they demolished that place. Must have had a real evil energy afterwards.

As much as I want to watch this, I dont think I can. Knowing what they went through since they were little kids is so disturbing and to top it off they're still in jail.
I learnt about this case a year ago; they're not monsters, they were just scared boys forced to destroy two ACTUAL monsters.

The ONLY reason those boys went to prison was due to the fact that the judge deemed all of the sexual abuse as "inadmissible" during the re-trial.

Both of the brothers since the age of 6. He held a knife to Erik’s ( one of the brothers neck ) he would abuse Erik in public places like giving him ‘massages’ when ( Lyle the other brother ) told their mum about it the mum didn’t care. If you want more information do your own research

I’m glad they are doing this case and not another serial killer case for this series. I hope this brings a lot of attention to this case and a retrial happens for Menendez brothers as a result. They deserve to be released and should have never been put behind bars to begin with imo. They should’ve spent time in a psychiatric facility to get help for their trauma instead.
If they did do another serial killer case, I would want Ed Gein because that case is really fascinating but also hasn’t been retold as many times or have as many documentaries like some others (Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, or John Wayne Gacy)

When I came to know the case , I really felt bad for the brothers ..and even infuriated by the judge ..it's fine they have committed the crime and they should recive punishment but such long term was absolutely disgusting , given whole system betrayed them

There was lots of evidence, but the court refused to allow them to be admitted, and all the judges protected eachother by refusing their appeals. The original judge said: “boys can’t be raped”.

The news told about the daily activities of the High Expectations family, from early on the morning to night, they had a lot of activities, swiming lessons, school, work. I can't watch this series , I watched the real court testimonies of the boys, describing the sexual abuse they suffered since infancy by that evil man, it is profoundly heartbreaking, the way they killed them makes sense , it was fast , cold, like wanting everything to end right there .
