With a bicycle 2023: Celle - Prag S4 / E10 | Hedersleben - Köthen 2 / Köthen

In the previous video we left Hedersleben towards Köthen. We pass by Lake Concordiasee and Staßfurt. We are now heading towards Bernburg, initially following the river Bode.
The ancient Hohenerxleben castle, first mentioned in 1205,
can be seen from afar before passing by. Today it is being renovated step by step and serves as a hotel and restaurant.
Our bikes entered the castle park that stretches to the next village of Neugattersleben. The path among these ancient trees manages to transmit peace and joy to the heart. We follow the channel that serves as a prevention against flooding on the Bode river and soon after our path leaves Bode and heads south.
Shortly before the break near Bernburg we saw colonies of numerous moths. This type is harmless to humans and even shrubs recover well after the caterpillars have transformed into nocturnal butterflies.
The city of Bernburg has an ancient history that begins 4000 years before Christ. We just had time to enjoy the city as we cycled through it. But it will remain in our memory for its architecture, flowering trees, flower-colored sidewalks and ancient streets.
The last 25km to Köthen we follow the Fuhne stream. The route followed quiet, rural roads. The clouds began to thin and a blue sky, still a little shy, appeared here and there.
Köthen is a very old city. Archaeological findings prove that 250,000 years ago there were people here who hunted and 5000 years ago there was agriculture in this region. Köthen's history is full of twists and surprises. The founder of homeopathy worked for many years in the city. Today the world headquarters for homeopathy has its headquarters in Köthen. The first publishing house for German-language textbooks was also established in Köthen, just to mention one of the curiosities of this beautiful city.
