Also, if anyone is attempting this, take your time, use plenty of heat (but not too hot so that you don't damage the phone) and only use plastic tools. Some kind of solvent is needed to handle the glue, or pick it away with something plastic, but be careful not to scratch the coating off of the inside of the back glass cover if you're taking this approach...

Water resistance in smartphones was a scum..I have been using my phone for a year and almost 2 months and never dropped it in water or swim with it.. I would prefer and trade removable back for water resistance... Smartphone companies know these batteries start to lose their quality after 2years .. so its just to push consumers to buy new smartphones which is a scum.

that battery is in there GOOD man. Also would not recommend using guitar picks as props when you're removing te back cover, because the uneven pressures caused my cover to crack right down the middle

How many hours is it necessary to use the heat gun before the glue will melt? How does one hold the phone, pull up with the suction cup, and insert something when we see the cover lifting when most of us only have two hands not three?
The hardest part is still opening the back glass without breaking it due to the corners. For the average user it's a challenge. I need to replace my S8 battery as well after over 2 years of usage but I'm still skeptic in doing it myself but it's probably worth it

But what you have given me is the courage to change it rather than buy a new one. I love this phone so I may spend a little bit and have it done by Samsung themselves which they do here. Hi, if someone gets the yellow triangle with thermometer sign when testing out the battery, try to put back the speaker and the upper antenna panel, hope it helps someone. (I got it btw)
When you attempt this, expect that you will likely crack the back. There's no way to know how hot you are getting the edge of the phone. My hair dryer did a pretty good job, but I was afraid of cooking and damaging the phone. Also, I can't see how you can get into that super fine thin crease between the back and the phone body w/o using a metal box cutter. Plastic just cannot be thin enough and still as strong as metal. I was able to just get started with the metal (very gently pushed in, not too far), then quickly change to plastic tools, but not w/o some cracks formed in the back. Fortunately it didn't crack to bits and I was still able to put it back, then tack it down with some silicone (it's also inside a case, which will keep it together, but you probably should buy the new back ahead of time, as I can't see this coming off w/o it cracking (who makes a glass back???). Obviously designed NEVER to be opened, and instead throw out and buy another. Not sustainable for the planet!!!
well you can kinda see yourself that if the phone dies from 100 percent in less than a day that the battery isn't good anymore... but you can also download accubattery from the play store and that will tell you the battery health of your phone after you charge it.
Love your videos Niko, can you make a videos about Bluetooth TWS earphones that has less or no latency for gaming especially PUBGM or other any games that requires communication, so far that I know Realme Buds Air has less latency and that make it great for gaming (also quite cheap) and curious if other cheap Bluetooth TWS earphones can match that factor?

Lastly Should you remove your micro sd card & such things first from your phone before carrying your phone to get battery replacement etc.. done by local phone repair store here so as not to lose any data that maybe store on them?[ such like contacts,photos, games etc.] or should you leave them in? & 3. Hi thanks a lot for the video! I got a question: you mentioned that we need to disconnect the fingerprint cable from the back panel when you took it off.. But I don't see a special step to put that cable back on when you put the back panel on... Does the cable connect by itself?
Hi the cable is short and the angle is small it's difficult to show in the video. You have to press it and it will attach on its place is not difficult. When you open the back panel you can see where exactly has to comment. 👍

Samsung slowsdown their phones ,when I had galaxy s6 edge for 3 years I noticed that the power saver mode sometimes is on by itself! When you slide down the notification bar I could see how the power saver button is switching on and off
Same with Apple. They slow down the phones to top it from power throttling and shutting off randomly. Remember when Apple got sued? It's because they slowed down the phones to help the battery last longer and so it wouldn't shut down randomly

How long do you use the heat gun in the phone for the first step? I don't want to overheat the phone and accidently damage it further. Thank you
10 second is enough, no need to be too hot. Just enough to open it little bit to make space for a tool to enter and you can start to work slowly.
