If I'm not mistaken, Shirley started off w/a SB Chevy FED. My dad & his buddies raced against her regularly w/their BB/GD. He has home movies from back then. They even match raced each other at New England Dragway, he has the posterboard somewhere, I saw it. I remember SB Vs. BB in the "Pro Comp" class regularly in the 70's, great races back then.
It’s being cooled by the air blowing against the motor while it makes a pass, and also it’s not like they are making extended runs where they are on the motor for extended periods of time
@@willr623 i seriously doubt that it is actually cooling down while making a pass, especially 1/8 mile track, Shit even 1/4 mile the air blowing against the engine isn't gonna keep temperature in check. Maybe at the Bonneville Salt Flats, when it's running for miles the air might help a little.
Beautiful car. The guy in the seat should be "cranking" the motor over as the other guy is "squirting" the injectors; it'll start quicker. I know; I own an injected FED.

This is the only king to own.
Small block Chevy fun time 🏁🏁
LOVE IT! Thanks for posting!
Wonderful sound!
Yes! I did not see this one make a pass though.
The floppy dipstick is just waiting to oil down the tire.
How long will it run before it causes internal damage to itself? Or... is their a hidden radiator?

It's a Chevy, probably won't run too long before internal damage starts.

If it's running on Methanol, that'll keep it cool.
Car runs alcohol. Runs very cool !
