I mean, it is a masterpiece. One of my favourite movies of all time, actually. But is it really underrated? It got plenty of recognition and was really successful.
I think another reason it was so good was because the budget for the first one was so low. I think when there's not a lot of money in a movie it forces them to be more creative

The last movie to ever strike true fear in me in a movie theatre. I remember hiding my face behind my uncles arm so that the jigsaw doll wouldn't see me. Now I love anything related to to saw and all thinhs gore.
What a fantastic movie Saw 1 was. I was disappointed that he was Jigsaw in the end of Saw 7. Saw 1 and 2 are the only ones I can handle for torture. I wish Saw didn't take it too far with the sick twisted traps way too much for me. Yes yes I know what are talking about but after the 2 one was too much special after the 3 one. It was torture to watch.
+Steven Morris James wan and Leigh Whannell (the creators) pretty much bailed after the third one which is why it went in a different direction. Thankfully they're coming back to write Saw 8 so hopefully they'll take it back to basics

Now I love them all. The franchise storyline is just so damn interesting for a horror gore genre. But you can't beat Saw 1-3. Long live the trilogy

I truly believe Saw success was because even though it was horror, it didn't take itself too seriously. Gotta love Aussie humour.

I saw all the Saw films and I`m rewatching them one by one again!!! One of the best horror films in my opinion :-)))

Saw 6 was also excellent IMO. It's criminally underrated because it sits in between two of the more disappointing sequels 5 and 7.
