Man, you're awesome, in making video and HUMANITY 👏
That is pretty damn awesome. When people bitch about people getting trucks for just daily driving, this is a great example of why trucks work as daily commuters. They are extremely versatile and in this case with the double doors it is easily modified and a much better choice than a family van imo....
Cristy is a cool girl!
That’s a “BAD ASS TRUCK”!!!
Waow again stranded on the road for the second time only had this truck for 3 months now the sliding ramp does now slide all the way in so the Lamborghini door will not close waow unbelievable man
I have seen these up close, I work in a body shop and they are very crudely made. We were all very surprised especially for how much money they cost
That's what I call Pimp My Ride or Trick My Truck
That has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen
Simply outstanding!👍👍👍
I'm a 6ft C6 Quadriplegic I had to get a whole new power wheelchair to be able to get into a 2022 2500HD 4x4 Diesel Silverado. I would want the truck with the smallest lift platform 😩.
Yes the Allison 10 speed transmission on the diesel is too large for many power wheelchair users like me. I went with the gas engine 6.6 liter with the 6 speed transmission and love my 2020 GMC SIERRA 2500HD!
Tim, this video was awesome like the rest of them.
That is so cool!!!
I love my ATC truck!
Never have cared for GoFundMe. Tried raising money to help with medical bills etc since I lost my job because I’m disabled. GoFundMe “lost” the money. Ended up having my truck repossessed, now we’re on the verge of losing our house and our only other vehicle and having utilities shut off. Hopefully she doesn’t have the same issue. She seems like a wonderful person. Being in a wheelchair myself, I miss my truck and wish I still had it. Minivans aren’t bad, but trucks are awesome.
Definitely i am going to get this.
Nice truck!
Cool truck. Great video Tim!
Thanks Stephen!
That's awesome!
I think having the doors swing open would be a better way. Doors welded together reach out further and could cause problem in handicap parking.
That is awesome
Great work , lovable vybe and friendly vybe🔥 I suggest the wheelchair to be electric
How about with a power chair
Badass truck
Very interesting
Cheers
Very interesting, hope it works well for a long time for Kristi. Tim - edit at about the 11:04 - Kristi cannot “walk in”...
We still say "walking" when we know we can't. A lot of time I am real sarcastic about it with my friends in chairs when they say it. You can walk!!? Why didn't you tell me? Haha.
Awesome!👍
I need this with stock truck seat being used I have myotonic dystrophy most of the time it's hard to get in the truck
Just a heads up, noticed Jason move/adjust his feet, unfortunately a 'true Quad or Parallel can not move his /hers lower extremities......jus saying.
Which price do you negotiate on the deals in voice or the MSRP
Excuse my english. Excelent conversión. Please more information de adaptation breake and gas. Hi from Tunja Colombia 🇨🇴 South america.
How wide is this for a larger chair wheelchair
I dont want a minivan.... i want a truck for sure. Too bad ive never seen a ram adapted.... but hydrologics do go wrong, its just less likely, we had a hydrologic ramp in a van when i was a kid and it always crapped out. Luckily, my father worked in hydrologics so it was easily fixed.
Im curious about b pillar, is there less strength?
need a platform that can raise a standing person up to front seat height. Guess I will jut have to invent it myself.
This rig is amazing. What about pinching hazards for kids in the back seat? Partially the seat behind the driver? Is there a obstruction sensor like in the minivans?
That's a good question and I don't know the answer. Try the company and their website: www.atconversions.com/
Most us individuals with disabilities can't have children. I had mine before my disabilities and over the years we been pushed completely put of the full size conversion van market into minivans. I've had my GMC Sierra 2500HD since late 2019 and love it! ATC has been awesome and tue hydraulic system nearly flawless. 35,000 miles now and performance is far superior than previous other out of business companies. The 2020 models have added leg room to answer the children concern/question. I'm not aware of any safety system. Sometimes if something falls onto the area or pathway the platform simply won't close coke completely inside and the door won't close until the obstruction is removed.
That is a really cool truck! It's amazing the way they are able to modify trucks like that! One thing I was curious about is safety. Without the B pillar it seems like the cab would be more susceptible to crushing in a small front overlap test. Also with the frame being notched on the driver side, it would seem like that would affect safety from a crash test perspective as well as towing and payload capacity. Did they have to make any particular modifications to the truck to retain it's safety ratings?
Yes, there are several PDFs on their website related to safety and how they overcame the reduction in safety.
I think Kristi's choice in selecting the truck built on framed chassis at that height, has already addressed most of those concerns, except rollover.
Your totally right..
If Christy drops her keys, can she reach down to pick them up? I have a strong telescoping magnet that helps if need be. Really cool conversion for sure! Mike in Oregon
Grabbers need to be handy. This is is is the case with all vehicles though.
While the weather is still nice, she should find some local cars and coffee's and turn everyone's heads.
I just might have to do that! The guys at LineX were drooling all over it yesterday. :-)
What about valet parking?
How much weight can a Lyft Lyft
Do you know the interior floor to ceiling height for a wheelchair user in this truck?
I don’t. You can reach out to the company though.
What if the door is frozen. Doesn‘t kill this the engine of the door??
Sure, if the door is frozen shut you are going to have issues just like any vehicle.
Does ATC make kits to fit other manufacturers’ pickups? The company-Mobility Works-has limited me to Silverados.
Thank you, Kristi, for serving us veterans. I am a 100% service connected Army veteran.
No idea. You'll have to check with them.
The driver showed a switch to make it a non-disabled driving mode for other non-wheelchair users, is there a seat that can be placed/replaced so others can drive it?
Yes. There is a seat for non wheelchair drivers.
What was reference in video as OEM seat "Original Equipment Manufacturer " seat m
How much would it cost to do that to a GMC Jimmy (2001) ?
Not sure. Check out the manufacturer's website here: www.atconversions.com/
The only thing I hate is you have to sit in your wheelchair, which is incredibly dangerous if you get into an accident your airbags and seatbelt ain’t gonna save you, too many pieces to digni to you..it’s why I picked lowering my truck on bags, so I could use my factory sits..
How much is this truck
What’s the cost of a truck like this.. I’m really interested in getting one
With the new truck and conversion it would be around $100,000
Car modders looking lmao
So if someone can walk how can they move or drive the truck?
What? Its comes with a driver's seat that can be installed and uninstalled easily it's on wheels and still has pedals!
10:50
How safe are these in front, rear and side impact tests? Also how do emergency crews get access to a person if any of the above happens?
Good question. Reach out to the manufacturer on those.
Want this for my wheelchair bound son. Want to know more details. How to contact you
Contact the company. Search ATC Wheelchair conversions.
As a paraplegic, I wouldn't take this if it were free, including the hand control garbage which I bought for $85 on Amazon. She doesn't look like a quad, but to each their own I guess.
Hello everyone , I waited a long time for ATC conversion truck and finally was able to buy one with only 6,700 miles on it 2020 rst silverado Very unsatisfied only drove it for 2 weeks and already the handicap conversion jammed. So upset. I called atc for help nobody would help nobody could give me any number to call , I had call 2 tow trucks have it towed they both refused to tow it because of the Lamborghini doors not closed it stopped half way n stopped working. It was a nightmare it was dark late at night I'm in a wheelchair what do I do right. So this happen Friday n Monday I called atc and offcourse bad customer service. They don't Wana help with nothing I talk to Chris. Horrible service and I haven't even made my first payment and already have issues. Bad product
What’s terrible about America, and as a DVET is we have to pay out of pocket for all the mods…in many European countries especially England, it’s all free, but they don’t allow ppl with bad knees or a old football injury or based on age qualify for disability and European countries and again specially England it’s extremely difficult to qualify for disability about as hard as it is to get a gun..you have to be wheelchair bound to say your disabled or your mentally handicapped, but they provide free housing cars equipment everything, and they don’t have the fraud we have in the USA EITHER..too many ambulatory (walking for medically uneducated, lol) take advantage of our disability, I’ve seen kids with a broken leg claiming they are disabled , nope if you can walk you shouldn’t ever get disability period ( mental or brain injuries aside.) I’m a Dvet and I don’t think most PTSD cases should qualify for disability either I’m sorry, and yes I know it can be hard, but 99.9% can work, walk workout jog,and swim etc…I’ve got PTSD and just because I had nightmares ,cars back firing made me jump, got dizzy felt like the walls were coming in on me when I got into crowded areas or grocery lines, but getting a service dog helps with that..you shouldn’t get a parking permit for PTSD but again 99.9 do, it’s wrong..if you can walk around a mall all day ,or Walmart for 3 hrs you don’t need to park in handicapped perking..it’s wrong..there needs to be different levels, we yes have 10%,-100% disability from the military but too many vets push and push just to get that free money, they should all get free healthcare ,and some should get benefits if they can not work, but they need to be to the point even a normal conversation is too much to handle, I’m sorry if it pisses off some..but as a DVET crippled from just below the neck, I see things differently now..I’ve had ppl cuss, and spit at me for wanting to use the handicap spot that they didn’t want to give up just so they don’t have to walk in the parking lot at night time to go to the movies, …anyway cool truck..but we shouldn’t have to pay to outfit our cars vans and trucks, ..
For the wealthily disabled.
This product sucks. The hydraulic door keeps jamming 👎 👎 👎 only 7 k miles
