- This instructional video discusses how to save various instrument feature selections for convenient recall at some later time. This is an example of the kind of instruction that you get when you purchase your instrument at Roxy's. We provide to our FR-4x customers over 5 hours of similar instruction as private RUclips links to help them master their instrument from the ground up. And we intend to add more instruction to it. You receive all this instruction free when you purchase your instrument from Roxy's.
Thank you so much for your instruction
You hit the nail on the the head I was trying to save to sets rather than user programme.
Cheers

You’re an excellent teacher!! I save your 1x and 4x videos!!
Leon, You have done it again. This is the very best explanation of the saving functions of a FR-4x. That System save, Set save, and UPG saves differ is not initially apparent. Referral to the chart on page 6 may also be of help.
Thank you Ian for your positive response to this video. I agree with you that the chart on page 6 is useful. I wish I had thought of putting it in the video. Another thing that I did in this video was to pave the way for future discussions about what exactly is a User Program. My understanding is that the phrase "User Program" was intended to be a metaphor to connote the idea that it would initiate a series of instructions that accomplish certain tasks, typically the selection of various register buttons, mode buttons, and menu adjustments like tonal edits. In other words, a way to instantly accomplish a series of actions many of which would be otherwise be impractical to accomplish during a performance. This is in contrast with Yamaha who calls the equivalent feature a "Registration". Which metaphor is better I leave to individuals to decide, however I prefer the term "User Program". I think it better reflects what is effectively happening in the instrument when it is chosen.
Leon
Leon, extremely well developed 4x instructional video. Many thanks for using your knowledge and experiences with this terrific instrument to help others understand it's versatile functionality.
Thank you Guy for the positive support.
You are an excellent teacher!!
Great job. People need to master the basic operation of the instrument. And people have to start getting used to the idea of swapping in and out from flash memory. The popular practice of relying on prepared sets and user programs is keeping people back from using their own instruments. Not only that, it's restricting their own potential in music.
it's not keeping people back.. it's providing a service so you can remain a musician not a techy.. look up Richard Noel's services for sets and user programs.. they are excellent. Roxy's provides his setups with a purchase... if you want to expand your own that's fine.. but there is no restriction about it...
Very informative video. It's important to realize that on the 4x I cannot save the selection of register buttons and playing modes within a set. I need to do it within a user program. Thank you. Roxy's is definitely the leader in knowledge about the instrument. No other dealer is so committed to helping me get the most out of my instrument. You get a big thumbs up from me.
Great info sir. Thank you!!
Your videos have been brilliant - thank you. One question - can I change location of one user programme to another user programme bank?
Thanks for the video. Unfortunately I will not be buying this instrument. Impossible to use the menues if you are vidually impaired!
Another great video Leon.
Having problems locating the supplementary document with the reed combinations that you mentioned , can you let me know the file name please.
Thanks

It's called "Supplementary Explanation of the FR-4x/4xb Reed Combinations". It’s the 5th one in the list. Let me know if it doesn't work. I’m confident that you will find it advantageous in gaining a better understanding of you instrument. Good luck. Leon
